I start by saying that my reviews of businesses have typically been positive. Usually when I have a negative experience, I refrain from saying anything. In this case, the behavior of this company was so egregious that I have to warn potential customers.

About two years ago, our roof was old but we never had any leaks. Our former contractor recommended John Gilmore Roofing Inc. Our first mistake was that we didn't research the company first but rather accepted the contractor's recommendation.

Immediately following the installation of the new roof, we had a leak in our living room ceiling right after the first rain. Mike, the roofing foreman whom we got to know quite well, redid some of the roof shingles. A few months ago after much rain, we had puddles on our living room floor from the same leak in the ceiling. Mike repaired the roof shingles twice but the leak persisted. Finally, my husband and our current contractor found the real source of the leak. Mike came back, agreed, replaced a lot of rotted wood and did some very messy but thorough caulking.

Mike assured us many times that John Gilmore, owner, would reimburse us for the repair of our ceiling which by this time was in bad shape. After our contractor repaired it, I called John Gilmore to explain that I would send him the invoice for reimbursement. He blasted me, saying that I exaggerated everything, was not paying us a dime, told me to take him to court and hung up on me. Neither he nor Mike would return any of my husband's calls. And our roof is still under warranty!!!!
AVOID THIS BUSINESS.
