Best Roofers and siding experts in San Francisco! I work for a property management company in the City and Gateway Roofing is our go-to vendor for any roofing, siding, or leak issues. Christy and his team are experts at finding leaks and even better at fixing them. They have installed several roofs for us and could not be easier to work with. From start to finish, their team is very professional and focused on the job.
On the off chance there is an issue, Christy is true to his warranty and will come out to our properties to fix any issue free of charge with no hassle. If you want your roof and siding done right, I highly recommend choosing Gateway Roofing!

I paid Gateway $800 to install a very simple roof gutter with downspouts. I have had nothing but leaks, overflows and problems with this very straightforward project. The work is only under warranty for 2 years, so over the California drought years there was no way to be sure the work was quality (i.e take water from the roof to the plumbing system). Now, with the rains it's laughable that I paid $1 for this work. I called Gateway and they were disinterested.

I got up on the roof to inspect the work, so I know the system is poorly built and it is not simply tree matter clogging the drains.

2 year warranty. A joke. $800 a rip off.

I got several bids to repair or do a full roof replacement.
This included one of the big guys that always runs TV ads who by the way was very poor in terms of customer service.

Gateway was not the cheapest but offered the most complete bid and asked for only a 10% down deposit.

Work started on time and was finished in 3 days. They replaced everything including gutters and chimney cap.

We are very happy with the work and the 10 year warranty.

Worked with a number of roofing contractors to get quotes for a full roof replacement and a center patio skylight replacement. Most were too busy for a call back for a quote or submitted quotes that were over priced. Gateway Roofing provided a reasonable quote for a re-roof and center skylight replacement.

The team was professional and answered all my questions once the quote was presented. Got on the waiting list (~6 months) and the work started about 2 weeks prior to the original scheduled date. Rocky managed the crew well and communicated any changes to the daily schedule and even worked on a weekend. The roof installation was during a heat-wave in September 2017 and it must have been 120-130+ degrees up on the roof. Hard work in the best weather conditions, great job team! The crew was fantastic and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each work day with Rocky or one of the team informing me about the schedule for the next day of work.

The skylight was scoped and build by Atlas sheet metal and is absolutely amazing. The Gateway team prepped the roof appropriately to accommodate the skylight. It was a large skylight they had to get up to the roof and installed/attached to the roof piers without a hitch.

Rocky returned several times after the installation of the roof and fine tuned a drain gutter and fixed a few small items to my satisfaction.

Great team at Gateway, highly recommend them.

It was like 2 weeks since I got an estimate from them and when I called finally they said they will call soon but never got back to me. NEVER HIRE THESE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT THE JOB DONE!

I can't speak highly enough about my experience with this place. I recently bought a house in SF and the disclosures mentioned some cracks in the roof. I don't know anything about roofs, so I relied on the contractors that did the inspections while we were in escrow - one said to replace the entire roof immediately and the other said to fix the cracks immediately. After the purchase, I called around at least 10 roofing companies and Gateway was the only one to answer the call, rather than me leaving a message and getting a return call. They scheduled an appointment (free estimate) for the following day (also the soonest appointment I got out of all of the companies I called).

Lo and behold, the tech, Gilberto, arrived exactly at the scheduled time, which I really appreciated since I left work to meet him. We went up on the roof and inspected it pretty thoroughly. Surprisingly, he told me that we were a few years away from needing any work. He pointed to the cracks that he suspected were noted in disclosures, and explained why they were inconsequential (this part of the roof wasn't actually over the house). He gave me some tips on what to look for as indications that it was time to get the work accomplished, said to call him when it was time to get that work done (I definitely will), and then went on his way. No charge, and no BS.

Gateway's performance in re-roofing a flat topped house left absolutely nothing to be desired! As with other popular and reputable roofers, a multi-month wait should be expected. What really blew me away was that Gateway was willing to perform minor repairs prior to the re-roofing at little to no charge, so as long as you sign a contract to perform contracted services in the future at an agreed upon time.

Once the roofing project began, Gateway had an ARMY of employees strip my roof down to the studs (1x4's?) in one day. From there, they efficiently proceeded to roll out the multiple layers of modified bitumen material, using a torching method. Complete removal and installation of new roof (with new skylights, flashing, down spouts) took place in about 4-5 days.

I would highly recommend getting a quote from this company if you live in the San Francisco area. Their prices are fair, they work efficiently and on schedule, and the final product looks great.

The only reason I am not leaving 5 stars is that it hasn't rained yet since I had the work done this past Spring, and have yet to test for leaks, etc.

This is a family business, I suppose.
I had to call several times whenever I had a question or wanted a confirmation.
When I finally got thru, it was like I was bothering the woman. She was obviously a family member who wasn't really into it ;-(
When the guys did get here, they did a fine job and finished in only 3 hours.
They were neat and courteous.
But, Gee, I don't think I'll be very responsive when they start calling ME ...for their money !!!
