August 26, 2018

By this letter, we are filing a complaint against G&G Roofing. Following is an explanation of the problems we've had with G&G.

* After the hurricane in September of 2017, we had extensive damage to our roof. We called G&G Roofing to replace the roof. It took some time to get all the insurance information done and approved.
* Starting in March of 2018, G&G was approved to replace the roof. At that time, they told us it would be 9-16 weeks before they could do the work. Every time we called to try and get a date, we got the same story - 9-16 weeks. Near the end of May, when we called and got the same reply, we told them we were going to cancel and go somewhere else. Then they made a date of June 4, 2018, to replace the roof.
* On June 4th, they removed the old shingles. By June 6th, they had laid the underlayment, which was waterproof (we paid extra for that).
* On Wednesday, June 6th ABC Supply delivered and placed the pallets of shingles on the top of the roof. While doing this, they tore a large rip in the underlayment (about 3X1 foot). They did not inform anyone of this. That night we had a torrential downpour, that lasted several hours. We had water damage in five rooms of our house and in the garage. In one room, the water actually began to fill up the globe light fixture.
* We called G&G on Thursday, June 7th. They sent two men over, who took pictures of the damage on the roof. They also surveyed the attic and the water damage throughout the house. They repaired the tear in the underlayment.
* On June 8th, they completed installing the roof.
* We contacted a local painter who gave us a quote of $2500 to repair the damage inside the house. We called G&G and relayed this information to them. Over the next week, G&G returned the call twice to my husband's cell phone, but he was unable to take the call at that time. He continued to call back, leaving two numbers for them to contact us.
* After this, G&G did not return any phone calls.
* On July 11th, we sent a certified letter to G&G, suggesting that we deduct the $2500 from their bill of $14,000, so that we would take the responsibility of making the repairs. They never responded to this letter.
* We were refinancing our home and our closing was set for August 2nd. The title company told us that G&G had filed a notice, so that they would have to be paid before we could close on the refinance. They also added $500 to the contracted amount.
* We talked to a lawyer, and because of the small amount of money involved, he suggested we file in small claims court.
* We went through with the refinance, so G&G has been paid (overpaid, in fact), but we are going to pursue the matter in small claims court.

We wanted everyone to be aware of the treatment we received from them, so that others can be warned of the business practices of G&G Roofing.

Sincerely,

Father Raymond Olinger and Michelle Olinger

This company replaced my roof in April and I would not use them again. I cannot recommend a company that does the level of work they do or allows things to occur that simply shouldn't happen. Too many problems with them!

I needed an estimate for a repair on my roof. It was scheduled 2 weeks out. The day of the appt they called early to say estimator had a toothache & we rescheduled for 3 days later. NO SHOW & NO CALL.
I left message on their answering machine after hours & the next day
still no one called. When I called to see what happened, they stumbled around & said he woud call me to re set the appt. I said no way!
I guess they want to replace an entire roof, not a repair! Very poor professionalism

I called to have them give me a quote on a roof replacement after Irma. They told me they were 2 months out, which I thought meant 2 months til they could come and do the job. But no, they actually meant it will take 2 months for them to actually send someone to even take a look and provide an estimate! I understand roofing companies are very busy right now, but 2 months just to get a quote? Ridiculous.

We contacted G And G before Hurricane Irma for an estimate on a metal roof. They came out and did their survey. We have called innumerable times to ask for the quote. No one ever calls back or emails a month after storm.

What a roof really is is peace of mind, and I don't have that. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row I have lost a lot of 130 MPH shingles in wind that was nowhere near that high. Maybe it was the shingle manufacturer, or maybe the installation. Don't know, don't care. I also had a leak around a vent pipe that damaged my ceiling and took 3 tries to fix. All I know is G&G put on a roof that doesn't hold up and which I can't trust. I'm ripping off a 4 year old roof and starting over with a new company. How sad is that?

If it was possible to give 0 stars on this review, I would but I can't.
G + G Roofing, inc. had made a $1550 repair on my leaky roof. The first hard rain after the repair and the leak was still there. I contacted them several times to honor there 1 yr so called workmanship warranty and they did not attempt to repair there work. I would NEVER hire them again. It is like throwing money away.

I had skylite and roof repaired last yr the problem reoccurred , I called them back several times and finally after 4th try Jason called back.after inspection I was told that it now needed to be replaced...??? He gave me a price( same as price I paid to have it repaired) I agreed and once again no one calls back. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired

Couldn't have gone better. Jason was honest, professional, and caring. Did what needed to be done instead of trying to sell
products / services we didn't need. After a storm like this, there are many people and companies that try to take advantage of
homeowners. Not G & G. They are honest and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company!!
