If you love disappointment and unreliability this is the company for you

I would not recommend this company. They aren't reliable. Rick did not show up, never addressed it, never gave me an estimate, and never contacted me back. Take your business elsewhere. As a paying customer, I shouldn't have to follow up 4+ times with no call backs.

My experience:

I've used Florida Universal Roofing because of a past recommend for work they did a decade ago.

First roof issue was gutter related in December 2022. Rick showed up on time and did his thing. He seemed like a nice guy. A couple days later, we received an estimate for $1,200. After a couple weeks, we decided to do it. Rick showed up, did his thing, and left without telling us he was done. The issue seemed resolved. We waited for a bill that never came.

The next time it rained, a week later, we noticed the gutters perpendicular of the original fix were leaking between the roof and gutter. I spoke with Julie, via their office number, if we could get Rick to check it out. I also asked about payment for the previous work done. She said we could send a check in the mail or Rick could take it when he came back. She scheduled a 4pm Friday meeting. Rick was a no show. He never called or anything. We called Julie to make sure he was okay. Julie rescheduled Rick coming back out. We sent the $1200 check to the company.

Rick did show up this time. He never mentioned not showing up Friday. We had a nice chat, at least I thought. We discussed some additional side work since we had issues with water leakage. I exchanged numbers with him. The side work could wait until March as per him. He said he would send an estimate for the gutter. I never got an estimate. After a month, I called Julie back to see when we could expect an estimate. The issue didn't need to be immediately addressed as it was Florida's dry season. She said she was unaware we were expecting an estimate. She told me she would reach out to Rick. I never heard back. So the next day I texted Rick to see if he was doing good. I thought maybe I misunderstood? Maybe he would give us an estimate in March? He never responded. The next day, I called Julie back to find out what was up. She said he would have a quote by the end of the week. I asked if she could have him call me. Never happened. I called Julie again. She said she would have him call me the next day. Still nothing.

Please stay as far away from this company as possible! I had my roof put on by this company 10 years ago, it was the best 50 year Architectural Asphalt Shingle roof they had with the top of the line Underlayment and Ridgecrest Ventilation System avalable. During the last hurricane we had the roof leak badly, I called Ken Mallick to come out and see if they could help me repair the leak. Because I bought the top of the line product from him I hoped that this would allow me some preference but it did not! I was not asking for any warranty work, I was willing to pay. After almost 4 weeks from the time I originally called Mr. Mallick finally came out, reviewed the roof without taking the tarp off, said he would fix it but would have to charge a ""minimum"" fee of $1400 and I would have to put 50% down to get in line. I did and he took my check. Three weeks late Mr. Mallick called back and said he could not find any shingles and could not fabricate a crown vent so he would have to put a completely new roof ($49,000 est) on my house. He told me to go through my insurance carrier. A new roof was not needed, and I did not need my insurance company to tell me that!!
I found a honest roofer, I had him give me a quote that came back at $700. They matched up the shingles perfectly, and did the work in 3 hours!
This is not the worst part however! When they were repairing the roof they removed the Ventilation Ridge Caps and found that 1) the leak was coming from a cut made by a circular saw through the shingle and underlayment but partially covered by a ridge cap at the time of installation. The cut was exposed badly in the driving rains causing very bad interior damage. 2) Under all of the Ventilation Ridge Caps there was NO ridge ventilation openings installed. The ridge caps were only decretive, but the cost to originally install them was real and expensive to me! The system I bought was never done!! I have little or no recourse for this now but any new customers should be very cautious using this company! My recommendations are that you look else where.
I requested that my deposit be returned 4 weeks ago but as of today I have not gotten my money back. When I call I get a voice message or the person I need to speak with is not available. Big run around. Use someone else.

I don't recommend to anyone, they did terrible work on our roof that only lasted less than a month. Not worth the money they asks for.
