In November 2023 I contracted with South Florida Roofing for a shingle roof on the single-family home in Bradenton FL.  Before the contract, I had told them several times that the 6 soffits needed to be sealed up so the Palm Rats could get into the attic.  I know this is important because we had them, and I had paid for an exterminator to remove them and seal up the potential entry points. If you can side your hand in between the shingle and the soffit the palm rats can easily slip in and out.  In two days they were finished.  I commented again to the site leader (Junior) that the soffits needed to be sealed down to shingles, and got a positive response.  Weeks later I have not made the final payment since I have not received the confirmation that the 6 soffits were sealed, and the final bill.  The bill arrived and an inferior picture of one of the soffits with a statement that they were all sealed, so I paid the final bill.  Eleven weeks later I am finally back in Florida and from the ground I was able to see the soffits and they were certainly not sealed at all.  Only one of them still had the aluminum extrusion that terminated the soffit vent panels that rested against the shingles.  When I finally viewed the two remaining soffits they were no better and the aluminum piece was all bent up.  I was lied to by Southern Florida Roofing. Further phone calls resulted in no action or response.  I have climbed on the roof and sealed down all six soffits to the shingles. I also bought rat traps that I baited in the attic to catch any palm rats that might have taken up residence.  I hate writing reviews like this, but if someone has taken my money and not completed the job they are stealing, which I can't tolerate.  On top of that, I was lied to.

Our original issue never was solved. Instead after thousands of dollars we are worse off than before we started. I do not recommend this company. Go with another roofer, there are so many out there

I have called to get an estimate on my roof repair with Kevin, First appointment he did not make it on time and did not bother to call to cancel or reschedule until I called corporate and they re-scheduled him for the next wasting already my time. Next day he showed up checked on my roof that needed small repair and told me I will get an estimate in 24h, ""well that was 3 weeks ago"" I have called and followed up with their management about the estimate and they claimed that with the holiday he is running a little behind. So my advice if they could manage to send an estimate on time and waited on a customer to follow up with them, then I do think they are worthy of your time and trustworthy with their Job.
Save your safe the trouble.

Florida Southern Roofing did my son's house and I can not say enough or thank them and All the sponsors and Volunteers that came out to do his roof, they are the most professional group of workers. If any one ever need's a roof or any work done do not hesitate to get in touch with them. I would recommend them to anyone.

I had a small leak stemming from a cracked tile in valley near rear of roof. Several roofers came out and gave me replacement quotes, all without even looking at the potential source. Robert Jennings, repair manager, came by my house despite being extremely busy that day. Long story short, he quickly found the source of the leak and immedialtely determined that my roof was sound for at least 6-7 more years and a repair was all I needed. In addition, to calm my concerns about damage until repair could be made, Robert made repair a priority and scheduled his team to start work within 24 hours. Outstanding.

To top it off, Florida Southern showed me a great deal of respect as a 100% disabled veteran and extended a VERY generous discount.

Honestly and integrity is worth it's weight in gold. Robert Jennings has both - a great ambassador for the company. I HIGHLY recommend Florida Southern based on their respect, wonderful customer service (Tiffany), and the highest honesty and integrity.

When it comes time for a new roof I know who I'll be calling!

Set up appointment to get estimate CHAD was there rep. He called to say was on his way that was great. Pulls up as I'm in driveway gets out as I'm standing in my driveway he begins to tell my elderly neighbor that she needs a new roof and begins to hassle her about it. After that he finally comes to talk to me. Now so you understand I'm a local utility's contractor. He begins his sale pitch and that's expected. I'm familiar with the lingo and advised him of that so we can get to the meat of the conversation but he instead chooses to trash talk other roofers in hope to promote his company.
At that point I stated I wasn't feeling it and gave his card back to him ...he got upset with that and stated same back to me.... LOL!
Childish!
You sell you business by promoting your company with the service and quality you provide not by trash talking others. I have had a few estimates before him that conducted themselves professionally and no one trashed talk any other company.

They provided prompt quote. I signed the quote Aug 13. Someone was supposed to call to schedule work. After 3 weeks of waiting I called them. They said their equipment was stolen. No one called to let me know. Finally after several times prodding they scheduled me for 9/21. Then no show and no call. Terrible follow up. Would NOT recommend.

Florida Southern Roofing did a great job on my new flat tile roof! It was a big job and done during the ""wet"" season, but they kept us dry thoughout the process and the roof is beautiful! Mike Clark was our foreman and followed through on every promise...truly a job well done.
