Just a horrible experience. Please look at the 1 and 2 star reviews. The vast majority of those other experiences align VERY closely with mine. Read those reviews before you decide on Five Star. I wish I had. On to the horror story...
I wanted both powered fans (I already owned these) and also ridge vent in case of a power outage. They installed the fans but no ridge vent. They also didn't refund me or my insurance when they hauled off all that unused ridge vent. The fans aren't even installed properly because they're partially covered by plywood and 2x4s. Why would they even install it there? See picture.
They pounded the drip edge on so hard that it dented the fascia and left a black spot.
They left tire marks in my driveway and nails that I'm still picking up 3 months later.
They screwed up my kitchen lights by dropping stuff into my attic and damaging the cans. See picture.
On about May 7 (only a couple days after installation), I called to tell Robert about these issues and he said he'd have it fixed. He didn't.
On May 17, I texted Robert for a wind mitigation recommendation AND I thought it would jog his memory about the driveway and drip edge. No response.
Five Star called demanding payment and I said the job wasn't done. She told me she'd get someone on it. She didn't.
Time passed and some snotty rude manager named Justin Ely called demanding payment a week or so later. I said the job wasn't done. He must have contacted Robert for details because a FULL MONTH LATER, Robert finally responded to that May 17 text on June 18. We'll get there soon.
After listening to Justinand his condescending nonsense, I wanted to be done with these people and their incompetence, poor communication, awful follow-up, horrendous accounting, greedy attitude, the damage, and simple misunderstandings being blown completely out of proportion. To avoid Justin, I told Robert in the attached text that I was very unhappy and offered to handle everything myself if he'd just take off $1500 from this $30,000 insurance job that was obviously inflated. I have 3 out of pocket quotes that range from $16-$24k. This message was sent at about noon. Robert didn't respond at all.
I called the next morning at about 10AM. No answer. 8 or 9 hours later, he had still not responded and I called the office. When Robert finally called back, he informed me that they double charged me for permits and extra decking. So they're demanding payment with snotty Justin and they don't even have their numbers right.
Robert said he shared my text and then got Justin in on a 3 way call. I told Justin I was disgusted with all of this and mentioned the $1500 to just be done, give a good review, and I'd pay immediately. He got all upset, accused me of extortion, and threatened to sue me if I withheld payment.
Justin told me his only goal is to make money. He asked if I ever give up any of my commissions and laughed when I said it's only happened twice in 25 years, but I will absolutely do right by my client even if it costs me money. Customer satisfaction is so much more important than mine.
He then told me he'd also sue me if I told my neighbor about this. My neighbor signed up for a $30K roof on my recommendation. Seems like a good reason to try to make a me happy! On top of that, I'm also a Realtor who gets asked for contractor recommendations VERY routinely. If my roofer hadn't retired, I wouldn't have been calling Five Star. Now, I just remind the other 397 Realtors at my office that they should not be recommending or using Five Star.
In the end, I got excuses and a $100 wind mitigation report out of them. They got a bunch of free material for another job. And I had to repair my own drip edge, fascia, lights, fans, and driveway. I'm so glad to be done with Justin's rollercoaster of incompetence and foul language. Until Justin got involved (after the text I posted), it was completely salvageable and polite. He's the problem. Despicable all around.

Worked with me to get the claim payout from insurance with recommended lawyer. Job was done as promised, got the shingles installed in one day, cleanup was performed.

We can't say more about how pleased we are with the new roof. Five Star
Roofing representative Jason Nieto was a blessing. Hail damaged our roof
right before I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery. Jason not only
provided pictures of the damages, but helped us through the whole process.
Five Star lived up to their promises and reputation. We have already recommended them to neighbors and friends. Thanks for being there in
our time of need.

Jessie wasted my energy with communicating with him over setting up an appointment, sending him photos of our roof damage. He then said his ""guy"" stopped by on Friday May 19, 2023 (I was not home to verify this, but no digital video exists from our home security footage to back up his story). Told me I would be receiving a quote either Friday or Saturday morning. No communication, deactivated the Thumbtack profile in which he was using to communicate with me. I'd say that amongst being dishonest about stopping by and ghosting your business profile would enough cause for concern for entertaining doing business with this type of establishment.

Everything went smoothly from initial contact, inspection, and proposal to final installation, all within less than 3 weeks! Daniel Moreno, my Sales rep, was attentive, courteous, responsive, and engaged during the entire process. I will not hesitate to refer 5 Star to friends and neighbors!

Excellent service! Roofers we're working like well oiled machine. Roof replacement done in one day, start to finish. Account Rep Omar is best in the business. Super helpful, kept us in loop with progress. Most importantly, he was able to get us on the schedule for replacement with in three days and got the job done!!! Thank you Omar!!!!!

We interviewed several roofing companies after a tropical storm knocked a tree through our roof. Five Star was recommended by our realtor, and was one of the few companies that had a general contractor on staff who could handle the damage to the beams and trusses.
After our insurance company came back with a very low bid and wanted to do a patch instead of re-roofing, our job supervisor, Justin, and the company owner, John, came out in person and took numerous photos and wrote a detailed report that convinced our insurance company to approve a full re-roof.
Five Star was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They are responsive, professional, and hard working. I highly recommend this company!

Totally non-responsive to requests for quotes on new roof. 3 phone calls and one email over a total of two weeks and not a single returned call. Last call, Jasmine, first person that actually answered the phone, said they would respond in 24 hours - 48 hours later still waiting. Looking elsewhere.

This was a great experience! From the salesman, Michael to the workers. Michael made a point of staying involved in the entire process and stayed on top of everything. The workers were expedient, clean and respectful. There was nothing more I could have asked for. Well done 5 Star!

I cant say enough about Five Star Roofing and Construction. KYLE Schiro and his staff responded the same day to my service request for assessment and subsequent repairs for damage on our roof. KYLE explained exactly what our problems were and discussed options for repair. We felt very comfortable that his assessment was accurate and had the repairs performed at a very fair price that represented the best value. I would absolutely recommend Five Star Roofing and Construction and we only consider our roofing needs be performed by them.
