Very quick response! They were accommodating to our needs and handled the entire project in a professional manner. I would work with them again and highly recommend them.

#1. I chose to use your electrician because you would not work with my electrician, and you told me the entire project would be delayed multiple times if I chose to proceed with mine. The choice of electrician is irrelevant to city bylaw requirements; my complaint is that you did unnecessary and unauthorized work, and are ignorant of city bylaws.
#2. When I approved the project scope, I stated specifically the electrical work within was on the condition the city deemed it necessary. I also told my project manager I wanted to be involved if at any point the city required any upgraded electrical - so that I could show them my physical evidence of flood water levels being well below the outlets. Fire Reconstruction did not involve me until after the plugs and switches had already been replaced.
#3. I spoke with the city permit supervisor, whose contact information I also passed on to Fire Reconstruction. He explained and sent the relevant city codes sections to me, which I also passed on to Fire Reconstruction. The city inspector told me in no uncertain terms that replacing the electrical devices was unnecessary, which agreed 100% with the original city inspector's report. Had the city inspector verbally insisted they be replaced when he met with you (and just forgot to mention it in the permit report), you should have involved me at that time.
The fact that you are comparing plugs and switches to smoke detectors shows that you still have not investigated or followed up with the city to confirm what I am saying is true. At the time of my project, bylaws required that smoke detectors be upgraded to interconnected every time you pull an electrical permit - regardless what the permit was for. The bylaws for devices, on the other hand, only required upgrading to gfci and arc-fault compliant when they are replaced. This is exactly what the city permit stated.
Since you brought it up, I would like to point out that you also initially told me that ""interconnected smoke detectors"" meant I had to run new wiring through the attic to connect all devices. This expense would have been huge, given the number of devices and multiple attics, but in reality replacing the existing wired smoke detectors with WiFi enabled ones was sufficient. Hopefully not too many of your clients were hit with this large and unnecessary expense before I investigated the bylaw and actual requirements for you, which has been in place for all electrical permits pulled since Feb 2016. You are welcome.

We met with them to do a commercial retail tenant renovation. They were on time for the initial walk through and were quick to turn around an estimate for us. Everyone in the company was professional and easy to work with. They kept the space clean during construction and was able to finish the job quicker then expected. I would highly recommend them.

Two-year update. Can't sell home!!!!!!
The problems that Fire Reconstruction caused at our residence is becoming noticeable every month. We have contracted other companies to fix some of the mistakes but other mistakes will cost thousands to repair. I would like to sell my house but due to their work, the repairs would eat away any profit I can expect to gain. I have spoken with a customer that found my review after they noticed problems and are currently in a major lawsuit for damages.

Last year, on CHRISTMAS, of all days, we came home to find that our almost brand new dishwasher had spent the last 7 days leaking water all through out our kitchen and our basically brand new hardwood flooring. Not exactly what you want to come home to during the holidays.
Anyhow, after some initial insurance claim paperwork, we were given the name of Fire Reconstruction as a possible contractor to move forward with for our flooring replacement...and am I ever happy we did! I was 6 weeks away from giving birth to our second child and I really didn't have time to spare to get the work done.
Once we had our adjuster come out and give us the lowdown on what needed to happen (about $33k worth of damage), we jumped over to Fire Reconstruction and they were helpful from start to finish, both the sales person, the home office and the project manager.
We actually decided to not have wood flooring put back in, but instead went with a tile that looks like hardwood flooring. With 2 kiddos, 2 dogs and a pool out back (and the best bathroom to use is in the middle of the house)...wood just didn't seem like the best option any longer...and you know what? Almost no one even could tell the difference between our previous floors and our new tile floors. The selection of tile was great that was within our budget and the project managers were very helpful with the selection process.
The work crew showed up on time each day and while it was a hassle just family-wise, we ended up living upstairs during the reno. We were without our kitchen for a couple weeks...though they made every effort to ease the issue and were able to keep our fridge plugged in the entire time, which was a great help!
They had to take out the ENTIRE bottom floor of wood flooring (about 1500 sq ft), replace a large bottom cabinet and our island, along with all the baseboards throughout the bottom floor. They also had to rip out all of the wood and then re-level the floor.
They use all their own crew (no sub-contractors), which was a big selling point for me. They also came in and helped to pack up the large items and stored it all off site (beds, cabinets, dressers, etc.) and then came back in and put it all back together for us. They also cleaned the home from top to bottom (a couple of times...I don't think my blinds have been cleaned since we moved in almost 3 years ago!! They looked great!), which was awesome, since again, I was super pregnant...the home looked fantastic after their crew left for the last time.
All in all, the process took about 4.5 weeks and they were able to finish everything about 10 days before our newest little bundle was born. I couldn't be happier with the end result (and now am so very glad to have tile instead of wood...tho it was gorgeous...in our home).
I actually let them handle connecting with the insurance company and dealing with receiving payment and paperwork. While our insurance company didn't recommend it, I didn't have one single problem with them. Britany in the main office was always very straight forward with me and very communicative. I found them to be a very trustworthy company.
I would highly recommend them to anyone with insurance claims or are just in need of some remodeling needs.
They are now located on Hempstead in Cypress, though the above address does not reflect this. Our service was completed around 2/10/16.
