I tried my very hardest to be patient with Fine Design Builders regarding returning my $2800.00 deposit. Eric acts as if he tries to rectify the situation but instead leverages reviews. I took my original review down at his request hoping he would actually do the work. Unfortunately that was a ruse. Please see my original review below. Fine Design Builders has 2 licenses. 1 for roofing and the other as a general contractor. They have currently been removed from Angi's list and will soon be under investigation with the state. Please save yourself the sleepless nights and headaches. Wish I had just call Paul Bange Roofing and non of this would have happened!


Original Review: Fine Design Builders sent Armando Martin to my home. He promised to pull a permit and start working on getting a permit with the city of Miami Gardens. This was since Nov 2023. Every time I asked where is the permit nothing! Till this day no permit and no work performed. Called his boss Eric Martin Hershberger. Eric says he doesn't know anything about the contract nor the cash money provided for the deposit. Eric does not want to help nor provide the funds for the thief he sent to my home! THIS WAS A COMPANY REFERED BY ANGI LIST! I'm disgusted on how there company acted and absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE work with Fine Design Builders. Contract is signed and all documents provided showing all the evidence of money taken. Your company stole from an elderly, fixed income, grand mother who trusted you would get the job done under the terms in the contract. Instead a bunch of running around, no answers, no effort made to return the deposit. BEWARE!

Excellent workmanship. The crew cleaned up both inside and outside. It was a most challenging time as Covid 19 had disrupted the supply chain. They kept us informed of schedule changes as they were dependent on the window manufacturers production schedule.

We contracted with them in May 2021 for new hurricane proof Windows. Over $20,000 for the job of which I paid $10,000 down. The projected completion date was three months. Sept rolls around and no call as what was the plan. I called every month thereafter asking for an update. Always the same answer... the factory is behind. Each time another expected date was given. Each month that date passed and no update. Now into 2022 they stopped answering my calls. No updates... nothing. I am left with only one option... pursue them in court.

I needed my kitchen done and became paralyzed with all of the horror stories about contractors in South Florida. Eric from Fine Design Builders was knowledgeable and attentive from the very first phone conversation. He took the time to make sure I'd end up with my dream kitchen and adjacent family room. If I didn't know something, he advised and educated me about the process or materials I selected. I was always presented with options. His team was great. They showed up on time everyday and Eric was always in touch and easily accessible. We spent a day designing, picking out colors, selecting tiles, countertops, etc. The project started and ended on time. He replaced my dated kitchen with new cabinets, countertops, backsplash, floor, new sink, appliances and crown molding.

The windows & doors are beautiful! The workers were very competent, nice & respectful. We are so happy that we have windows that you can see out of and that open & close. Our neighbors & friends have given us many compliments about the beauty of the windows & doors and tell us what an improvement they make in the appeal of the house.
The company also does kitchens (their specialty) and roofs. We would definitely recommend Fine Design Builders.
