Recommended Customer Reviews
Yet another year has gone by and still no contact with the company. The new number they left on my previous review works if your intent is to leave a message... not call backs should be expected as all messages have been ignored! My account still shows a note that I have been promised $200 for damages to my fruit tree (It has sadly died) however no such payment has been received. Customer service is very lacking!! Buyer beware!
Overpromise and under deliver
Good when they show up, supervisors never show to the job. Very good sales people
We are very disappointed with the lack of communication and deficiency of the project manager staying on top
We believe they are growing too fast and lack a solid middle management team
Their workers are really good and hard working
Final result good but not a smooth process with this company
Placed my order for windows in my whole house, so it was 19 impact windows. Finally got the permit copy and a call saying install would begin in one week. Install began and all was good but the workers spoke no English and I no Spanish. 2 months passed windows are installed. Still no storms or hurricanes but 2 windows are broken. Been calling for replacement information and can't even get that. Been promised someone will call back, no one does. Been promised the windows will be replaced soon, still not replaced. I regret never having read the reviews prior to doing business with this company. If you haven't yet placed an order DON'T do it. Go somewhere else.
Unfortunately, I chose FHIA to install my hurricane windows in December 2020. It is now July 2021, and the job is still incomplete. Not to mention we have a hurricane brewing in the Atlantic.
When the windows initially came in March of 2021, which was a very long time to wait, my wife and I were excited. The installers started the installation, and everything was going fine until they told me 4 of my windows were not measured correctly and would need to be reordered. I was thinking to myself, ""not a big deal"" mistakes happen.
Then they said it's it would take another two months for the windows to come in. Wow!!! An additional two months. I was disappointed, but again, mistakes happen.
Two months go by, and no calls from the company. My wife finally says, ""I think we need to give them a call.""
So I call the company, and the representative that answers the phone says, ""oh yeah, your windows have been sitting here for a couple of weeks now. Would you like to schedule an appointment for installation"".
I'm thinking, ""what the F%#8 do you think, lady"", but obviously I don't say what I'm thinking, although I probably should have.
So I schedule the appointment, which is another two weeks out, and after that long wait, the day comes for delivery. Again, my wife and I are excited. We can finally remove these stickers and tags from the windows and doors; that's god-awful ugly when you're looking at the house from the outside. It's no window treatment done to the windows either because we need to wait for the installation and final inspection to be complete. We wanted to add some nice French shutters.
The installers put in three windows, and they finally take out the largest picture window in our house. I'm sitting at my desk working, and my phone rings. The operations manager told me that the largest window in my home, which has two parts because of the size, was measured wrong. Here we go again!!! he says, ""we need to reorder the window again, and it can take 5-6 weeks.""
Ok, now this is ridiculous! You mean to tell me that you measured the same window wrong, twice. Of course, they blame the manufacturer, but at this point, I don't care who's fault it is. It's May 2021, and hurricane season starts in a few weeks. That's why I ordered the windows when I did to protect my home and, more importantly, my family during storm season. At that point, what could I do but be upset yet again.
Beginning to mid-June 2021, I get a call from the company to schedule the window installation. Finally, we can get this window put in and move on. I schedule my appointment (I don't remember the exact day), but the next day I get a call back from the same rep saying, ""I apologize, but the window is broken, and we cannot install the window.""
Now I'm furious. What is the issue with this company and/or its manufacturers. I call my original sales guy and say, ""Hey, we need to do something about this"" I already had my house painted, and the holes where my aluminum shutters used to go are sealed, and I have no way of protecting the window in the event of a storm. To make it worse, when I looked closer at the original window that the installers put back in after they figured out the window was the wrong size, I noticed the screws were hanging out and not tightened.
The sales guy and I agreed that they would at the very least install the broken window to provide some protection just in case of a storm. We scheduled that appointment for June 24th. On that day, no one shows up to install anything. I then received a call from the same operations manager saying the original loan documents signed in December are now expired. We need to pull your credit again and have you sign a new loan. Also, the window that we will replace will not be in until October 2021.
When I asked what happened to the installers who were supposed to install the cracked window for protection that morning, he claimed he didn't know anything about the window or where it was, and he would find out and call me back.
To this day haven't heard anything from him. So now a hurricane is in the Atlantic, so I call back today and ask about the cracked window, and the operations manager tells me that the window was thrown away by the warehouse because it was broken. They can't do anything to help me.
So, in a nutshell, they wanted me to pay them for a cracked window and sign all the documents as if the job is complete and trust them to call me back in October 2021 to reinstall a fully functional window. FHIA is by far the worst customer experience I have dealt with in my eight years in Florida. I would not recommend this company to anyone that is looking for a company that cares about customers. All they want is the money, and that's it.
It's more details to this story, and I tried to be as descriptive as possible without writing a book, but if you stuck it out to the end, PLEASE BEWARE!!!!
I selected FHIA for my hurricane windows because of the sales person who sold me the the product. He assured me of the quality of the product, showing me examples and talked of the ""excellent workmanship."" He also assured me that he would be stopping by to assure that everything was installed as he had explained.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Never saw him again! The workmanship was sloppy and very unprofessional. I could have done a better job caulking around the windows and trim. If I complained, they did send someone back to make adjustments. The adjustments were not much better! I had to tell them to finish off the bottom of all the windows where they had pulled off the metal strips which my old aluminum shutters were attached to. They were going to leave the old now torn up concrete with chunks off and holes. There were holes in some areas around two windows where caulk around the window did not connect to the window at all. I was very dissatisfied with the work and sorry I went with this company. I would not recommend them at all.

FHIA approached me in BJ's and I scheduled an appointment with them for a week later on Sunday. On Saturday I received a call indicating that they don't do appointments on Sundays if I wouldn't mind rescheduling for Monday. I said fine, things happen. On Monday, 10 minutes after the scheduled time I called FHIA to see if I misunderstood the date. I had not, they were overbooked if I wouldn't mind rescheduling again for Tuesday. Why did they not call me to cancel? So I reschedule, come Tuesday 10 minutes after scheduled time I try calling again and am on hold for 3 minutes before it hangs up in me. Apparently they do not want your businesses. Don't waste your time like I did.
Paolo P.Disgusting service and promises. Basically the best scammer in trying to sell something than they find any excuse to run away from the project.. I am truly disgusted. The worst experience ever
Cathi H.Vinyl Hurricane Window Installation. The guys are dedicated to doing a great job. Took a bit longer than we thought, but the it was worth it. Attention to detail and clean. We're very happy
They quote a price 2x as high as another credible window company with the same exact window and installation. They don't give you any proposal so you can see the price breakdown. The guy just makes up numbers and hopes you fall for it.
We had a project manager from FHIA WINDOWS come out to our house for an estimate. He never introduced himself. The only reason why we know his name is because he gave us a quote with a number on his card. He never asked our names. we Can go on and on about the worst estimate ever! He didn't even have a tape measure in his hands. We had to ask him to measure Our windows. He kept reminding us that FHIA had 300 estimates a day! We will not be furthering our investment with this company.
