To set the record straight, this is a zero star review. We have had roof leak problems for over 2 years now. They came back to fix a portion of the roof that supposedly they fixed months back, what a way to find out that the roof was not repaired properly until the August/September storms...leaks everywhere and drywall falling away from the closet frame.
They don't respond to emails, the follow-up is completely on the homeowner and they screen their calls. As a Realtor in this valley, I would never recommend this company having experienced this first hand.
The President is down right rude! Keep Googling there are plenty of (reputable) roofers out there.

If there was zero stars I would give a zero star. There has been a roof leak 3 times now and the team supposedly sealed the roof and it keeps leaking. The work is not good so I wound not recommend this company. Also they don't take responsibility for damages caused . The president is rude on responding also. Find someone else to do your roof

t's always scary dealing with a company you haven't used before, but I'm beyond glad we chose Ferguson and Melvin Roofing. They were very reasonable and did an outstanding job. The workers were polite and genuinely cared about their work quality. They also took extra care not to damage our plants and or our property. They cleaned up after themselves daily. I smile every time I drive home and see my new roof. I can't thank them enough

I had a great experience with Ferguson and Melvin Roofing last week. They were recommended by my electrician, whom I have used for 30 years, so I felt ""safe"" in hiring them. Robert was the estimator and project manager, and he was thorough, prompt, and detailed in the estimate and in all phases of the work, and the workers were fast and efficient. The roof, including deck repairs and new vents, as well as clean up, was done in 3 and a half days. I only have one complaint, and that was that I found several roofing nails in my driveway over the 3 days, and we were using the driveway every day to put our cars in the garage. The end clean up was thorough, however, and my house and yard were left very neat. They even cleaned out my gutters and swept my garage and my patio cover. Time----and wind and rain----will tell if the roof is leak proof and durable.

Called them to get a quote for a new roof and Robert promptly called me back and we met 2 days later and he was on time. He explained their process, brought brochures for the type of underlayment and shingles they use, a thorough presentation. 2 days later he emailed the contract which was very detailed and middle of the road in price. After reviewing the contract we picked Ferguson and Melvin and we are so happy we did. Here promptly every morning at 7:30 ready to go, we had a beautiful new roof in 5 days and they cleaned up everyday before leaving as well. They did just a great job we could not recommend them more highly!

Our house has very steep slopes. About 12 years ago Ferguson Melvin took off the shakes, applied plywood and highest quality composition shingles. They also re-installed our copper solar panels.
Good news. No leaks, roof looks like new. The price was reasonable at the time. Probably cost more now though, due to our money becoming less valuable.

I had my new composite roof installed about seven years ago. It was expensive, $10K for a 2,000 sq foot house/garage + $800 for wood rot repair and the roof of a small pool pump house. To their credit they come in with a very large crew and get the job done fast, three days. Their supplier uses a conveyor belt truck to directly unload the new roofing materials up on the roof w/o using ladders. On the minus side most of the crew appeared to be illegal aliens, but at least not the crew chief. Seven years later after every Santa Anna I am still picking up roofing nails in my yard.
My first real problem was that I got hit with a supplier's lien, word to the wise you can modify your contract yourself to indicate that you will pay the supplier directly, I highly recommend doing so. My main gripe is that the roof came with a 25 year warranty and they made a big deal about that in the quoted price, putting an impressive looking metal plate to that effect on my fuse box.. Two years ago I had a series of leaks during the heaviest winter rains since it was installed. I called three different times that summer for warranty work leaving messages but never getting a return phone call.
They do not have anyone on-site answering the phone anymore as they did at the time of original install. I finally ended up going to home depot and getting two buckets of Henry's roof sealer and patching it myself, they did a poor job of sealing around the plumbing vents and attic vents, that fixed my issue. While I was up there I picked up literally dozens of roofing nails.

Tom came to the rescue for me and my neighbor. The previous owners of my place supposedly couldn't get the roof leak fixed once and for all, but one fix from these guys 2 yrs ago and we are still dry! My neighbor just called this week for the same issue.

WARNING: Approximately 7 years ago I had this company replace my roof. A few weeks ago I had my electrician do some work in my attic and he told me there was all kinds of old roofing debris up there. He filled two 33 gallon bags of debris and said there was a lot more left. I called Tom at Ferguson Roofing last week and told him the situation and he said he'd call me Monday or Tuesday which he didn't. I called him and he told me he had been too busy to call me. I asked him when he could have the debris removed. He said there would be a charge. I asked him why would I be charged when the debris should have been removed at the time of the job seven years ago. He accused me of lecturing him I told him because I was upset that the job was not complete and why did I have to pay for work his company should have done. He said I'd still have to be charged.
Very poor customer service and refused to finish job without me paying extra for what should have been done at the job was done.
WARNING: be careful with this company and be sure your attic has the debris removed or you'll have this situation. To be safe get estimates from other companies.
