I contacted 4 roofing companies relating to a partial roof replacement. On that part of the roof, I had leaks for years, and I had roofers come to fix spots and flashings, but in continued to leak. Then I contacted Steve Farber. He had an idea to reduce the costs and then his quote was 10+% cheaper than the next best quote. Steve has a very professional attitude and when we discussed the project, he explained to me in detail what he would do, and why I had these issues (e.g. a skylight and a stove pipe were not properly installed. He did a partial roof replacement, including all new flashings. And he gave me a 10 year warranty, which the competitor would not give for a partial replacement. He also implemented other things that I didn't specify so it would look neater, as in my case, we laid new shingles on top of old shingles. Now we had a bunch of significant rains, and no more leaks! So, if you have a tricky situation, Steve is your man. fyi, he doesn't do entire roofs anymore. But when he comes, he does it all himself, which gave me great comfort in the quality of his work.

Steve is your friendly neighborhood roof business owner! I had a small project that most roof companies refused to take on, and another company was going to look at only in a couple of weeks. Steve was quick taking measurements, working with the sheet metal shop and doing the installation.

He has been in the business for many years serving the local residents. So I would trust him any roof project, big or small.

Found Steve on Yelp! and gave him a try. Just had my Spanish tile roof repaired due to poor initial construction in an Otto Miller house in Burlingame. A lot of roofers won't touch tile roofs but Steve Farber did the repairs and I was impressed with the quality of his work. He mentioned others cut corners (whoever put the initial roof on stuffed the end caps with newspaper and sealed with cement-probably saved the builder $200 and cost me thousands!). He's not the low bid but he does things right. He provided itemized receipts and we could see how hard he worked and he was honest. I would definitely recommend him for repairing tile roofs.

Steve Farber and his roofing company are superb. He arrived promptly to every appointment, promptly provided a fair and very competitive price quote, did a great job replacing an old flat roof that sprung a leak, knew how to work between rainshowers and dry the roof each day in order to get us waterproofed ASAP, did a beautiful job replacing two downspouts, finished the job early and cleaned up every day. I called a couple roofing contractors, including Steve Farber, to come out and give us repair estimates after we discovered a leak in our roof. Steve responded right away and set an appointment for the next morning. Steve arrived shortly after another roofing contractor had just finished his evaluation and estimate. Steve got up on the roof to check it out, and asked what the first contractor had told me and the price quoted. Then Steve told me that it sounds like the other contractor knew what he was talking about and was offering a price to do the (relatively small) job that Steve could not match at his billing rate. Steve told me to go with the first guy. I appreciated Steve's honesty and will definitely contact him in the future when we need to replace the entire roof or run into more difficult problems requiring his expertise.

Steve Farber, owner of Farber roof company came out and checked out my problem and decided that the roof looked ok but decided to caulk an area where he thought the water was coming in. It was not a major leak but judging where the dampness was on the inside made his analysis. We'll have to wait until it rains to see if he was correct. However, Steve said to give him a call if the problem isn't rectified.

I got the feeling that Steve was totally honest and not trying to sell me a bill of goods by telling me I needed a new roof. He even said that he'd try to simplist approach first and if that worked then things would be cool.

He was almost apologetic for charging me $100 for the house call and recaulking the area he thought was the cause of the problem. He was a hell of a lot more reasonable than another local company.

There is no doubt I will call Steve for any of my future roofing needs.
