To be clear, I did not hire Family Roofing. I called for an estimate on a roof repair. After some discussion, I felt terrible about not calling Ami (Family Roofing) first. Here is my feedback:
1. Responsive. Called when he said he would
2. Despite the fact that we weren't going to do business, was willing to help answer some questions and offer an opinion as someone in his industry
3. Followed up on the progress of my project, again, despite the fact that there wasn't a cent to be made.

When I asked him why he was willing to continue to invest time, he simply said, ""I'm in the service industry.""

I 100% recommend working with Ami. Great experience, great company, great guy.

My roof was old and leaking, and needed serious work. Ami came and diagnosed the problems. He was fair and honest pointing out what was good and what needed to changed. He was upfront with the timing, contingencies, and pricing.

Once we signed the papers, the work started almost immediately. It was as painless as I could expect. One truly great part of working with Ami is his responsiveness. We communicated frequently throughout the project--not too much, not too little. He's a pro.

We unexpectedly found that some insulation needed to be added mid-project. Ami had a guy in the next day to add it. He made it seamless on my end.

Overall, I'm thrilled with the job the team did. The price was right where I expected, and the quality looks phenomenal. Ami really cares about doing a great job--and it shows.

Ami responded quickly and came to give us an estimate on a displaced tile from the severe wind event last month. He came the next day, assessed the roof and replaced the upended tile. He showed us photos of our very old tile roof and recommended replacement of the underlayer. He explained about the layers of a tile roof so that we understood the issue. He did not pressure us and did not charge for the quick fix. We will wait for his estimate but are very inclined to use him for the project because of his thorough explanation and his professionalism.

It's always very hard to find the right contractor for any kind of work for your home on any kind of project, especially if you don't have a lot of knowledge yourself. You can very easily get taken in by so many people who are going to be willing to take advantage of your ignorance and end up costing you lots and lots of money. This is our first house and the first time we had to have our roof repaired. We had 3 different roofers look at our roof to get it patched for leaks and the first guy gave us such an exorbitant quote that it was quite depressing to even just have it fixed let alone redo the whole thing. The second guy was more reasonable and gave me a quote for both fixing and replacing the entire thing.
When Ami came by he gave me a very honest assessment. He said that my roof really should have been replaced a few years ago. And anyone who told me that they would repair it is just after money because I would have to replace this roof very soon anyway. He shared with me in detail the issues that he saw and the facts were sobering but true. What I appreciated about Ami was his genuine honesty and that he was able to tell me the truth and that he was not about going after that quick buck. Look, not everyone would have opted to replace their roof in today's economy, I get it. But we chose to go with Ami not only because he had the most reasonable offer but also because of how he treated us.

In the end he did what he said. He explained to me any question I had, even about dumb technical things about shingle numbers and what they mean. His team came in, they were super-efficient, repaired any damage under the previous shingles, and the project was finished in 3 days! I am super grateful to Ami and would honestly recommend this man and his company to anyone I know if they had any kind of issues with their roof. He stands behind his work and his work speaks for itself. So now if I ever come across anyone that needs to have their roof re-done or repaired I can always say that I know a great guy to do the job!

Unlike the other companies, they didn't pressure me with sales tactics or gimmicks. They were incredibly professional, kind, and offered a quote that was much lower than the others. The job was completed quickly, with great attention to cleanliness, and best of all, there were no surprise costs. They stuck to the original estimate and delivered exactly what they promised.
