They took a 7k deposit 8 months ago, haven't done my roof and refuse to refund me my money.

Family First Roofing was a joke. In December I put down a 50% deposit for a new roof after Hurricane Milton came through my neighborhood. I was told the new roof would be installed mid-February, nothing. Was told mid-March and again nothing. Told mid-April. Was told mid May possibly. Spoke with the CFO and told her this is unacceptable and I wanted my money back. I heard every excuse in the world as to why they couldn't do the install. Was told they had to fire half the installers, didn't give me a reason why. Fired my salesperson because he was lying to customers, etc.
Finally, after calling everyday, yes, I recorded my phone conversations, my roof was started with the metal tiles. Then 2 weeks went by and nothing again. Sitting here with a big dumpster blocking half my driveway. Had to keep calling back again to try to find out what the hold up was. More excuses. Finally, after 2 weeks my roof was completed. They wasted no time to collect the money but it did not pass inspection!
Had to redo some nails that were incorrect and fix some other issues. Once it finally passed inspection I was so relieved. I didn't think it would ever get done.
There is an investigation of the company in my community and the same thing that I went through some of my neighbors are going through.

Terrible Company!! BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!! Family First Roofing Group has been scamming people in the Sarasota area, especially targeting seniors, retirees and veterans since summer of 2024. They signed contracts, took money from clients and never completed work. In some cases, the roof they did finish failed county inspections due to poor workmanship. MY parents signed a contract with them in November 2024 and are still dealing with their *hit!! They do not return calls, ignore customers completely, and leave people hanging for months, while all the while celebrating the roofs they did complete in Port St Lucie by shaking champagne bottles--or as they called it ""Champagne Showers."" Meanwhile people in Sarasota have actual showers because it's raining and they have NO ROOF!!
BRANDON LAVERDUE, REY DUARTE and KARLA GUEVARA all OWNERS don't respond or even care about what is happening in Sarasota. DIEGO CARILLO is supposedly the manager in Sarasota and he never calls people back or gives a date of completion. They are all unprofessional and lack communication skills and are ALL THIEFS!!! Multiple families have been affected and it's clear they have no intention of honoring their contracts. Multiple families have also filed a fraud report with the local police department so it's only a matter of time.
As of today, 5/6/25, there is no sign of life at their physical business address in Sarasota and a former employee who was fired told us he wouldn't be surprised if they all packed up and left the area. They should be ashamed of themselves. Their shoddy business has infected Sarasota and it's just a matter of time the same happens in Port St. Lucie and their other locations. This is not just BAD BUSINESS--it's FRAUD!! Stay far away from this company. Once a thief, always thieves!!

These people are greedy frauds. Do not give them your money. We started the process in November, nothing but empty promises since. Just a bunch of excuses. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FIRST FAMILY ROOFING OF FLORIDA!!!

I deposited over $26,000 with First Family Roofing back in September 2024. As of today, I have NO ROOF, NO WORK DONE, and NO FINANCING secured for the remainder of the project. I requested a refund over FOUR MONTHS ago, and they have REFUSED to return my money. Their customer service is non-existent once they have your deposit. I have been forced to file formal complaints with both the Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau just to try to recover my hard-earned money.

This company is completely unprofessional and unethical. They will take your money, make endless excuses, and leave you with nothing but stress and broken promises. Save yourself the nightmare -- stay FAR AWAY from First Family Roofing of Florida!!

I had a roof inspection done by another company, that told me they found some roof rot and some holes in the roof, and they also see that my gutters needed to be replaced. They said they could even get me a Veterans discount. for their work, I told them I needed the total cost first and get another inspection. They told me that I could still get the roof rot taken care of first. for only $500.00 cash so your insurance company won't up your insurance rates, your roof can wait. But the rot is my fault. and they won't cover that. They would start today for $500.00 to fix it and go now to buy the materials. I told them I do not have any cash like that, they were upset because I waisted their time and left. later on, I saw Family First at my neighbor's house. I explained the problem I was told I had. Mr. Brendan Lee told me they would check out what the other company said was wrong for Free inspection. The next day 3 men from Family first came over. even Mr. Proctor the manager came with them; they took their time and checked my whole house, and they told me that there was nothing wrong with my roof at all, and they couldn't find ANY ROOF ROT at all .They did say there was a little hail damage to some of the vents that the company who did my roof 9 years ago didn't replace then. I asked the cost to fix that, and they told me to save my money. It wasn't that bad it could wait tell the day I have to replace the roof. Just give them a call after the next hailstorm to come into the area. they told me they were clad to check out my roof then. he told me always check out the out any company first before and inspection to see if it is a real company.

So far so good regarding the process to get everything settled to install the new roof. However, since the work has not been done yet, it is kind of difficult for me to give an accurate review. That said, I am looking forward to being able to provide a complete review when the job is completed.
