Josh was so great to work with! We have an older home and when I noticed a leak I was dreading having to deal with any roofing issues. He came out and inspected the entire roof and even looked in the basement to make sure leaks down there were coming from plumbing and not roof leaks running down the walls. He was punctual, professional, and did repairs for a great price. Will definitely be using him for all roofing needs from now on.

I guess 'word of mouth' is always the best, as I learned about Exterior Armor from a neighbor! Josh Friedeberg, an owner, checked out my roof at that time and did some patch up maintenance including soffit and fascia work to keep it going until I was ready to get a new roof. Then this month Thomas McKenna came out for a current inspection and a quick patch which he did at no charge, I picked out a shingle color, and when the weather allowed the job was completed in 6 hours. I wanted more than just a final invoice (I suppose I still hold on to that 'old school' idea of filing away paperwork), and he presented a very professional packet with pertinent information that I could pass on to the next person whenever I sell my home. Both men were always patient with all my questions, and very courteous. In this day of not knowing what you'll be getting, I was very pleased that I came across this company. I can highly recommend them!

I've worked with Josh now for a few roofing projects as I've been fixing up this nice, but aged, 1989 home. He is the person you think of with the idea of ""customer service"" and ""expert"". He started off fixing some rotted fascia and patching the roof in a bad spot. Then, he did the chimney cap as the old one was rusted out. The next project I saved up for was installing gutter guards and (here's where the expert part comes in) he didn't want to install the most expensive model because he thought it'd look bad and wouldn't work as well as the next best type for my particular roof style and pitch. Later, he came by again to fix a leak that I thought was from the roof but had nothing to do with it and turned out to be the kitchen stove exhaust fan, but he sealed that up anyway free of charge. This latest project was to replace the roof entirely, scraping off the two existing layers of old shingles, removing the old powered fan vents, patching parts of the decking, adding new everything and putting in hail and wind resistant shingles with open valleys (and upgrade I never knew about and one he did for free just because he thought it'd look good on my roof style and he was right). Josh is the kind of guy that not only makes you feel like you're getting the best value, he's also a no-pressure salesman who really just likes what he does and does it well. I have only found perhaps 4 mechanics/contractors that I really trust over the last 30 years, and Josh is now #1.

Huge fan of exterior armor. They were the first to call me back almost immediately after I called to leave a message. The roofer was able to come the same day, but I was the one too busy. Came the next morning, at my convenience, and gave me and my husband an honest assessment of what was going on with our roof. He even did a patch job for us to help (no guarantees because our roof is so bad!) hopefully hold the roof over while we save for a new roof. Josh did an awesome job explaining stuff to us and gave us great service and advice.

I can highly recommend Exterior Armor for the job they did on replacing the metal roof on my parent's historical 1850's house. After getting several bids from different contractors, I went with Josh Friedeberg (owner) for his roofing knowledge, attention to detail, and always responding to my endless questions via email. Josh personally climbed up and walked all over the roof - took photos to show and explain any problems. He let me know ahead of time when they would be arriving, or if they would be delayed - and kept a tight schedule. His workers were all very friendly, worked hard non-stop, and cleaned up super well after the job. We also had the dormer wood shingles replaced, and the painters came back a 2nd time - no charge - when the paint color didn't quite match the front doors. On his own, Josh noticed and fixed a loose gutter, and blew away the leaves covering the porch and driveway. They also created a ""fix"" to keep the roof water from spilling down the side of a chimney - which Josh also cleaned and washed the stain off. His ""extra"" attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond the general contracted work was amazing! Here's some photos of work being done and the final results...

I can't recommend Josh (the owner) and Exterior Armor more highly. I got four estimates for a new roof, and Josh was the first to respond and provide an estimate. I chose his company based on his willingness to provide me with the roof I really wanted and to work within my budget. Josh is straightforward, outgoing, and enthusiastic about his work. He'll even tell you, ""I love roofs."" Josh is onsite throughout the process, working along with his crew. He even cleaned my gutters personally. That kind of personal attention from an owner and attention to detail is rare from any contractor. I was impressed by his promptness, honesty, flexibility, and work ethic. Also, Josh stayed in touch with me by phone, text, and email throughout the process. He is very responsive and always on time. After installation, Josh walked the perimeter of my house with me to make sure all debris was removed (we didn't find any). He really cares about the quality of his work and the reputation of his business. The whole process of working with Josh was efficient and pleasant from beginning to end. Oh, and my roof and gutters look fantastic!!
