As someone who works in the trades, I would not recommend this company.
Excellent technical roofing reroofed my house(I'm a renter) that has multiple sky lights. They did not seal the skylights AT ALL and I literally had wind blowing through my house. It took them weeks to come and complete the job. They did this this morning. Their initial plan was to just put some more nails in it. I requested that they also caulk around the edges where the skylight and flashing meet. They did, but it is EXTREMELY sloppy. It's not my home, but if it was it would not be satisfactory in any way. They also replaced the gutters, but left off one small piece on the side of my house where the porch is so now when it rains water pours down splashing the side of the house which will end up causing rot. Lastly one of the workers was cutting the tops off the caulking in front of the house onto the ground and walked off with no intention of picking them up. He did so once asked. Sadly this company was unable to complete this job without direct direction & oversite.

This company has a tarring roof job at our neighbor's house today, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, to the right of our property. This job is being performed in the Portola District of San Francisco, CA.
The company's roof crew decided to place their working materials ""the insulation pieces"" on our roof!!!!!!!! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Does the roof crew NOT KNOW how to be professional about using 'other people's property' to hold/store their tools WHILE working on the neighboring house!??!
I called the owner about this today and all he could do was repetitively say, ""I'm sorry, I'm sorry...."" He told me that he told his crew to take off the ""very little weight insulation pieces off our roof"" a number of times!?! WHY even DO THAT!!! The owner then went on to tell me that he did contact the neighbor to right of the house getting roofed. They were fine with this. Then this owner told me that he also contacted the neighbor to the left of our home and they were also fine with the job happening. However, he DID NOT TRY to contact our Homeowner because no one was home! Then he also figured that the crew can use our home's roof to hold/stack their materials!?!??! THE NERVE!
This company's roof crew is unprofessional, rude and did not do a DAMN thing to make us feel a bit better about them doing this roof job right next to our home!!
HIGHLY STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY!!!
Their company name DOES NOT describe their professionalism AT ALL!!!!
Does this company have a REAL , LEGAL LICENSE to BE a roofing contractor????

This construction company set off the fire alarm because of the mass debris they created in the building next door. We had to evacuate our home. When the fire department came, they were in disbelief that the construction crew had not taken the necessary precautions and that there was no onsite project manager. As neighbors, we talked to the construction crew about stopping construction because it was shaking our entire home. They didn't stop. We care about our home's integrity, especially because it was built in 1910 (San Francisco). Manuel, who we spoke with, on the construction team said he is about progress and making money and by default didn't care if it was affecting us. When we called the building inspectors office, we found out this company didn't have a permit even though they were removing a rooftop deck and had concrete. The building inspectors office was shocked they didn't have a permit and said they would be out to inspect. We called the owner of this company, Bill Jo, and he said they didn't have a permit because they didn't need one, even though the building office said they were shocked they didn't have one. Permits ensure safety. SThis company doesn't care about how they are affecting neighbors. Hopefully, people who are potentially hiring this company will consider if they care about affecting neighbors.
Yelp wouldn't allow zero stars, but that is the accurate number for this Terrible company.

Excellent Technical was suggested to us by our solar company (Luminalt). They were very timely, prompt and did excellent work. Even installed our new skylight without an extra charge. Ours was a ""torch-down roof"" which is designed for a flat roof. There bid was the best of the 3 bids I obtained. I would definitely recommend them.

We've used Excellent Technical Roofing five times in the last 5 years in connection with a business and several residences and always have been genuinely satisfied. We are writing this as we realized no one has ever written a substantive review. Most recently, in May 2017, we were adding solar panels at our personal residence and it was necessary for ETR to coordinate with our solar installer. In that case and the prior times, not only has their work been high quality but also their employees worked really hard, were very pleasant and (based on competitive bidding) their pricing was always reasonable (and in two instances the lowest). Only have positives to say about them. We really like Bill, the owner and his brother, Kenny. They are hands on and no BS.
Note to potential customers: be patient in the rainy season because of demand -- if you need them so will many others.

This is not a review about Excellent Technical Roofing's replacement of the roof on my 4 unit condo building, but it is a piece of information that I feel should be shared. The week that ETR was at our house was the first time that anything has been stolen from our house. I have filed a police report and discussed with investigators that during the week of the roof replacement, someone with access to the garage took their time to search the garage and take a very valuable item. ETR was the only anomaly that week and it should be known that either they were not responsible enough to manage the access to our building or there is a potential that a member of their team is responsible for the missing items. After bringing this to their attention, I have not received any response from the organization's leadership or further consideration. Either way, I would not recommend this company and I would be very cautious inviting them onto my property.
