Juan and his crew did an amazing job putting on our new roof! They were here every morning at exactly 8:00am worked all day and when they left everything was cleaned up perfectly! Mr. Escalante and crew worked hard for several days on my roof. The day they completed the roof and I drove up in front of my house. My mouth litterally dropped open and out of my mouth the words fell out, ""WOW, ITS SO BEAUTIFUL."" Mr Escalente provided an estimate that was generous and competitive. I did my due diligence and got two other estimates and Escalante Roofing came in the best. Escalante Roofing had done my next door neighbors roof so I knew I would be in good hands and that Mr. Escalante and crew would take care of me. He went above and beyond for me and I am eternally grateful. Personally I think my next door neighbor and I have the best looking roofs in the neighborhood. From start to finish Juan and his crew were stellar. THey were timely, professional, had a reasonable price, did quality work, and cleaned well around the house at the end of each day including our neighbors. He tore off the old shingles, replaced rotten plywood and facia boards, installed a light tube skylight, and new flashings, shingles, gutters, and gutter leaf guards. I used to be a general contractor and as professional sub-contractor I put Escalante at the top. It is not very often that you get a great price and top quality work and excellent performance.

I was recommend by a friend to hire Escalante roofing to replace my roof in Glen Cove. They just finished today. So far they did a great job. His quote originally came in a bit high compared to a few other places but he was willing to work with me as there was a few things I didn't need for my replacement.

Everyday they showed up on time and left my property free of debris when the day was done. Juan and his crew were easy to work with. Anytime I asked the crew a question they didn't hesitate to keep me informed on their progress. I highly recommend this company.

Was excited and optimistic about working with Escalante. They came off as hungry and eager to work, and very personal and kind. The bid was in line with others, but I hired them on their good hearts. Boy was I wrong!

After signing the contract, they disappeared onto another job without notifying me until they already had done so, delaying my job for one month. Then it grew into two months. I kept checking in with them, to see if they were ready. As we were getting ready to finally finally finally start, I had to clear up some other permit issues with the County. When I called back a week later to get them to start, they blew me off. All I'd wanted to do was to confirm that they were insured with general liability. A must for a CA Contractor.

They refused to do the work. They blew me off. Turns out, they Are NOT insured with general liability. How on earth is that possible?!? Very suspect.

I feel like a dodged a bullet. Having a contractor NOT have insurance is like, OMG, like Russian Roulette. If they burned my house down, or one of them was hurt on my property, my own insurance would not have paid a claim, and I could have lost everything. General Liability Insurance is serious stuff. How the farting unicorn can they not have it? Wow.

So on the whole, I am relieved, but also disappointed I was wrong about their ""good hearts"" ha ha ha. I am also infuriated that in the middle of the Summer, I have to start at square one. Most other contractors are now booked up for the rest of the year, and my roof won't get done, and my huge 2020 CA state grant for solar panels--the whole reason I was doing the roof--won't get done. So I've lost about thirty K off Escalante's incompetence.

Really disappointed with the work, or should I say no work done by Juan. He came out and gave me a quote while my tenant was there due to a drywall water stain on my single story home. I asked Juan if he could check in the attic to see if the leak is coming from the roof or something else like the air handler unit or water line. Instead he gave me a quote for the roof which I agreed to get done while he was there. I asked him again if he could simply take a picture in the attic, which wouldn't require him to enter the attic is only 5 ft from the water stain. He said he would check with my tenant. I waited 10 min and called my tenant who explained that Juan left without noticed. I said no way, he didn't do the roof? She said no he drove off. I text Juan to see what happen and he said he left and refused to do the work after we agreed on the price and I advised my tenant. Completely embarassing experience. The worst part he didn't even reach out to me to talk.. just left without any explanation. I would avoid a character like this.. very disappointing.

I had a great experience with Juan today. Great communicator, very honest, and easy to deal with. I had he come out to fix my chimney where my flashing was coming up and exposing the shingles below. He fixed it in no time and sealed my chimney too! If you need work to your roof I would highly recommend him! Thanks a lot Juan for your great service and professionalism!
