Did not have any work done by this company and for good reason! I feel the integrity of this company is questionable. First, they interrupted my dinner by knocking on the door even though a ""NO SOLICITING"" sign was clearly posted on my front door at eye level. I was upset but needed some work done so I spoke with them. The salesperson pressured me into scheduling an appointment the following day (Friday). Unfortunately, I fell ill on Friday and cancelled the appointment. I asked if they could call back on Monday to reschedule. That's when the harassment began. I started getting calls on Saturday from people stating they were with Energy Star and were calling to reschedule. I explained the situation and advised someone is going to call me on Monday to reschedule. Fifteen minutes, later, I get another call from someone different from Energy Star wanting to re-schedule! By this time, I'm upset and tell them I feel I'm being harassed and no longer wish to do business with them. I received 19 more calls in 11 days. The last call was today after 8:00pm from a ""No Caller ID"" number. When I answered and found out it was Energy Star, I advised the caller to remove my name from all their lists, and if they called again, I was going to file a harassment suit against them! The caller promptly hung up! Hope this is the end of the nightmare!
This company does not care about employees health. They are very rude especially Donnie Burk. He interrupts when you try to talk, hes very rude and hangs up the phone quick. The lady told me I could reschedule if I needed too and when I tried because I had a very important doctors appointment, well I called and Donnie Burk answered and when I asked to reschedule because I had to go to the doctors, he rudely said don't come in, and hung up. What management does this? And the place is disgusting, filthy, some people weren't wearing mask while some were, the floor was filthy, everything just looked cluttered and disgusting very not sanitary for covid to be happening. I highly wouldn't recommend working here unless your ratchet and like to cuss a lot then this job is perfect, half their employees curse a lot and don't wear mask. DISGUSTING !!!!!!
Tiffinie J.On January 20, 2021, Sean Layne, Marketing Manager, came to my home and provided an outstanding pitch regarding the patio cover that I envisioned in my backyard. I have to say, Sean Layne is an excellent salesperson and I trusted him in my home, DURING A PANDEMIC. We signed an agreement (CONTRACT), and as agreed, I provided the deposit. We were told someone would be in contact to verify the measurements. Contact was made by Energy Star; measurements were verified. We we were told that we should hear back within 4 weeks. February 17, 2021 (4 WEEKS), pasted and we did not hear a word from ENERGYSTAR. I checked my bank and the deposit check had not been cashed. On April 2, 2021 I telephoned Sean. Sean indicated that the company could not get the materials and when he knew more, he would call me. I checked my bank account and the check had not been cashed. On April 28, 2021 I telephoned Sean. Sean stated to me that he told his boss to refund the DEPOSIT because material costs were too expensive. (WHAT?) I said to him, but we have a signed contract and I do not want my money back. He said he would get back with me. I checked my bank and the check HAD BEEN CASHED. On May 5, 2021 I telephoned the office and spoke with someone (could not understand his name). I give him all of the information, and was told, he had to call me back. When he called back, he told me they were going to issue a refund because the ""PROJECT WAS UNBUILDABLE"". (WHAT!??) I said we have a contract and I want the work done. Honestly, I don't know how he responded, but what I do know is; THIS WAS A WRITTEN CONTRACT AND THE DEPOSIT WAS CASHED!!! On May 7, 2021, I received the refund check; two days after the conversation with the person in the office. I am extremely disappointed. You came in my home and we signed a contract. How dishonest can you be? If you couldn't do the work, why did you cash my check?
Why would you take jobs from other Contractors who could have completed the job,
You had me on hold for months!!!
Michael W.Anyone giving this company 5 stars is lying or works for their company. Do your homework, this company is a scam. They go door to door preying on older people. Luckily my mom contacted me. We tried several times calling them back to cancel, but the answering machine kept picking up. You'll never get a live person on the phone and no callback. We immediately drove to their office which is almost run like a boiler room. No company banner on the outside of the building, I had to guess to which door was the companys. As soon as I opened the door, they were shocked to say the least. There was like 15 people in their office and yet no one could answer the phone? I should have taken a picture of this place to add to this review. They tried robbing my mom of 25K for a new roof for a 1200 sq ft home. Supposedly for a ""50 yr roof"". Would have cost her 300 a month for 12 years. They are nothing but Scam artists, stay far far away from this place. Just remember you have 3 days after the contract to cancel without any reason and no obligation to pay or penalties paid.
Please look somewhere else to get your repairs done. This company is out to rip people off and they are using cheap products. Found out that they are forcing employees to lie about their service. I recently got a patio from them and needed them to make changes to the supporting post. It's been will over three months and still haven't received a call back, nor an invoice for the patio. The patio is not worth $8550 for 10 ft x 19 ft. I don't know why people would rate them a 5 star. My fault for choosing service from a fake ass company without reading reviews. I understand now why those who rate them a one star.
Dudley D.How can a company justify charging people dbl the price all the other companies .You take advantage of people that don't know. People do your research and get more then one quote.
This company's Sacramento office phone number was reissued to me when I purchased two phones through Consumer Cellular. One phone went to my 93-year-old Aunt AND SO DID THE PHONE NUMBER of (as they advertise) Energy Star, 1339 Howe Ave, Suite 230 Sacramento, CA 95825, Open Mon - Fri 9 am to 9 pm.
Energy Star continues to mislead the public by advertising my Aunt's phone number as their office number. She receives several calls per day and night asking for business quotes. Many of those people call back because they think they misdialed. This is not only a burden for her, but it is also illegal! They are advertising a phone number that is not theirs and is no longer in their service! What are they doing?
After leaving two messages and two emails with Energy Star's HQ in Fresno, they have not contacted me.
My rep Sean said all the right things what sealed the deal was the warranty on the screens actually he said lifetime warranty he threw that in when he saw my fur baby signed the contract windows were installed in one day any issues I had they addressed them no problem so my fur baby ripped the screens they repaired them no problem then I'm informed there's no warranty on screens they previous repairs were a courtesy so manager said he would speak to Sean I've heard nothing I tried to contact Sean and nothing so in order to use my very expensive window and screens I had to pay another company to come out and repair screens with a warranty allegedly very disappointed with Sean the lack of honesty but I guess you'll say anything for commission
Terry M.I purchased 7 windows, 2 sliding glass doors and a garden window from Energy Star Construction. The sales person stated laser measurements would be made to verify windows would fit correctly. When the measure up person came he used his eyes and a tape measure, no laser tool to perform the measure up. All windows were installed day 1 and everything looked good. Day 2 the garden window and glass doors were installed. The garden window that was supposed to be an exact fit per the sales person is about 3 inches narrower than the stuccoed ledge on the side of the house and about 4 inches deeper than the stuccoed edge. The installer used a wood platform to shim the install to make it it (not what I was sold or thought I was buying). When installing the stucco on the house was damaged in 2 areas. 1 of the damaged spots was filled with colored caulk and the other was given no attention. The tile backsplash in the house had a piece that was broken loose and the boarder installed on the outside edge of the window was starting to lift as the installers left. The project manager came shortly after install was complete and the 1st thing said was I'm here for payment without asking what I thought of the windows or of the install. I mentioned my discontent with the planter window to be asked why didn't you say something before it was installed. My answer was the other window was already gone what was I supposed to do? I asked the project manager would you take a picture of this window and post it on your website, his answer was no we would not. Day 3 they come back fix the stucco, the tile and the boarder on the garden window but the installers didn't appear to be happy to be back. When the fixes were made and the installers left I found caulking and an open razor blade in my grass along with a bunch of the installers trash in my flower beds. I requested a manager or owner to discuss my frustration with incorrect information when the sale was made, the garden window that does not correctly fit and the other issues mentioned. The only people that contacted me was the project manager (who is not a project manager but a payment collector with a title) that only asked for money with little to no concern about my frustration and the sales guy who sold the job. The owner and the company management have no interest in their customer or jobs just the money received. I do not recommend this company for anyone due to the lack of customer service or concern for how a project finishes. Last note, when the installers came in they removed all window blinds and reinstalled none. I have no idea where the mount screws for the vertical blinds were placed so I found new screws. I reinstalled all window covering except 1 window. Define toy not the way a job should be completed unless it is the was the job was sold and this job was not sold like this or I would not have purchased from the company. Pictures are attached. I have a complaint in with Anlin about this company..
Sells bogus lifetime products!! Only been in business for 3 yrs. Sells anlins cheapo window (monte Verde) that any licensed contractor can sell for top$$ looks terrible installed. You want the Delmar or Catalina those are the real anlin Windows. When their lifetime paint comes off in sheets they will be back in Pakistan. Dont buy from this company.
