Well, I've waited over a year to write my review. I wanted to make sure everything was stable before I did as there were some initial issues.

The sales rep (Paul) was great. He was low key and helpful throughout the installation.

The install crew was hit and miss with me. This was a ground level installation on a hillside, however, the crew showed up and leveled the hillside before the foreman opened the plans. I was talking with him when he opened up the plans and exclaimed, ooooooh sh#t. I asked him what was up and he told me he hadn't looked at the plans yet. At this point, the posts were in concrete and the racking was going on. I called Paul with my concerns and he told me to tell them to change it. It took about two hours of debating with the foreman to get them to change it. He would call the engineer and debate then debate with me some more. Essentially, they took too much hillside away so they needed to raise the installation up to make up for the now lowered hillside or I would have had less sunshine on the panels. So I told the foreman one last time and that he can explain why I won't be paying for the second half of the job if it's not installed as per our contract. I shouldn't have had to deal with this issue but stuff happens, I figure it's just one issue so on we go.

Then there was the inverter. Basically, they installed a bad one. Not their fault, it's the factory that made it. So I call and get an appointment in a couple of days with Tony. Tony tries to fix it but can't. It wouldn't send data and it would overheat and just shut down randomly. This goes on for almost three months. I'm checking it all day. I'm shooting video of the inverter failing. I call tony, I call Paul, I call solar edge... tony comes out and tries to fix it... Can't fix it. Three months this continues. I PAID $42,000 CASH FOR THIS? I call ESP and get a receptionist. No one is available but, to her credit, she senses something is going horribly wrong and unbeknownst to me, tells the owner, Wayne.

Meanwhile, I sit down and have a heart to heart. How important is this? How much are we willing to spend on an attorney? We decide it's time to get an attorney and take legal action. We're going to have to sue.

Then, that evening, the phone rings and it's Wayne. He doesn't seem to have any idea of what had been occurring. I explain and vent. He says, well I've got three of these inverters on the shelf. I can just replace that unit. I'm like, so why haven't you!? I tell him we just spent $80 on our first call to an attorney and ask why it has to come to this in order to receive good service? I paid cash. Is that the problem? If I had financed I could just refuse to make payments until it were fixed. Wayne explains that their friend and electrician just passed away and that's why. I pointed out that this went on two months prior to his passing. Wayne apologized and promised to correct the issue.

So, Wayne did get it fixed. Within two days I finally had a replacement functioning inverter. It took almost three months and I probably invested 18 hours of my time into appointments to get it fixed. Not to mention my sister in law opening up for them twice when I wasn't home (after seeing what I went through first hand, she just had Solar City install their system). Almost everyone at ESP is friendly but that didn't fix a broken inverter.

I too utilized Yelp reviews to make my decision on who to purchase through. So I've tried to give a fare assessment of my experience. It's now been 14 months and so far, so good. My annual true up was $600. The system was designed to produce 90% of what I need and it seems to be doing that. So, other than the slow repair issues, which costed ESP four additional customers, I'm happy with the system.
I just dread the thought of what will happen the next time something goes wrong.

What an all around amazing experience. I was looking for a concept like this in the beginning of my search, someone who would help me make my house more energy efficient and not just sell me gobs of solar panels. We had a hiccup with our sales guy in the beginning but it was quickly resolved and we went straight through the owner Brian. They installed the whole house fan, solar attic fan, and 25 panels within I 2 weeks of signing our contract. I would highly recommend this company over the other 8 I interviewed. Going solar involves a lot of research and educating yourself on it before taking the plunge. Glad I stumbled upon them.

I purchased a 4.5kw system from Energy Saving Pros and the entire process was easy. Barry McGinnis was super to work with, he answered all of our questions and did not pressure us what so ever! He returned all of our phone calls and emails in a timely manner (less than an hour). The actual install went smooth and super fast! The system has been up and working for a month now and I can report no problems at all so far. I would definitely recommend Energy Saving Pros to anyone who's in the market for a solar system.

Our 10.6kwh system is up an running as of February 2016! I received 3 quotes and chose Energy Savings Pros because it was the most reasonable and because of the positive reviews on Yelp. Overall the project went smoothly. There was a minor hiccup that caused the installation date to be pushed a week because the solar panels listed in our contract were unavailable; however, ESP upgraded us to a better panel at no cost. The installers were very friendly and professional and our project manager, Arthur, was honest and was always accessible via text or phone call. I have already recommended ESP to my brother, who is looking to install this year, and will continue to recommend to friends and family.

Dan is very knowledgeable and helpful. It is obvious that he is passionate about energy conservation & is very thorough & meticulous in making sure you get everything you need to make your home as efficient as possible.

He is a HERS certified rater with SMUD & PG&E so he can get you thousands of dollars in rebates if you go with approved companies for your different needs (roofing, insulation, window replacement, etc.).

Call Dan for an energy assessment to see where you can save the most money on utilities by investing now.

Great information on various choices of Solar. Very clean installation of panels and monitoring equipment. Commication has been excellent after installation and is producing power at a rate that will probably end paying of electric bills. Our home 100% electric! Solar Edge monitoring allows you to check daily production on your computer or phone. Energy Savings Pros are just that!

A friend recommend that I call Barry about a possible solar installation. Barry quickly realized that given the small size of our needs and our distance from their base of operations that it wouldn't make financial sense for them to do the installation (i.e. they would not be able to make a competitive bid given their travel distance). Then, even though I was not going to hire him, Barry helped me sort through multiple bids from other contractors, gave advice about financing, etc. I was thoroughly impressed both by his knowledge, and his willingness to take the time to help me even though he did not know me and wasn't going to get my business. If I was closer to Loomis there is no question that I would hire them.

If I could give -1 I would. I don't know how this company has 5 stars! Out of 10 companies I've called over the last few months this was THE WORST! I'm very easy to deal with, friendly type of guy but this company has gone far enough to push my buttons. I had to call them 3 TIMES, not once but 3 times in 1 week to ask when someone was going to call me because I had left my name with the front desk lady. Each time I was promised someone would call me back by the end of the day. Well it took 3 calls to finally get someone to call me. Dan finally called me, all I remember is all the BS he fed me......does he not think people go online and read and educate themselves? Some of the ridiculous stuff that came out of his mouth were absurd.
Here's the best part as per Dan he was selling me poly panels because All manufactures were moving away from Mono panels. Either he's the biggest Bs'r or has NO clue what he's talking about.
Well after speaking with him and then informing what type of system I was looking for and my usage etc.. he said he'd call my by Friday which was the next day. Today is SATURDAY not a single call...btw I just checked my voicemail and call logs on my cell phone to be sure I didn't miss a call and I was right...NOT A SINGLE CALL BACK...

But hey thanks guys for passing me up we signed today with a local installer to have a Solarworld 8.55kw system for a FANTASTIC $/per watt price!!! The best part is this installer has great reviews and live right down the street and came the same day later in the evening after I called him! Now that's prompt service you guys should learn how that works!
