ELM Roofing was FANTASTIC! If I could give more than five stars I would! Max and his team provided outstanding service from the initial visit to the finished project! We have experienced various leaks and had fixed several sources throughout the years (eg. door and window replacements, endless caulking, etc.), yet the leaking persisted. Max had hypotheses, and together with his drone (yes a drone) was able to confirm the challenges via various photos that were previously undetected. His pricing to replace the roof was excellent, yet the best part was his level of service, care and compassion -- Max was continuously checking in and still does even after the project completion.

Another value added service was Max connecting us with a mold specialist to take samples from the areas that have suffered water damage. Note, the mold specialist, Elad Gal with Optimum Inspection, was outstanding and service-oriented as well. His recommendations from the mold sample lab results were very helpful.

I wish I could remember the names of the rest of the roofing team as they were all exceptional -- Special shout out to Milton!!

Now that the roof is complete, I will be using ELM for other water repair/construction projects. I can't recommend Max and the entire ELM Roofing Team enough!!

Roof leak on Dec 23. Atmospheric river on the way. The roofer I used for minor stuff when I bought the house -- didn't answer the phone. No voicemail options. At all. Panic ensues...

With Yelp reviews like these, ELM was an obvious choice. And a great one.

Refael was there later the same day. My roof was patched by 5pm the next day. (... on Xmas Eve).

Immediate problem solved, when the rain finally stopped, Refael and I then did a very detailed walk-through on top of my roof. Clearly, I needed a new one, so off we go. Challenges:

1) My roof has solar that needed to be uninstalled, then reinstalled. Refael was on it, got a contractor there, problem solved.

2) The leak caused some insulation issues. The first fix wasn't plausible (attic space just too small), so we needed a plan B. Refael pivoted, and under 2 days later, problem solved.

Refael knows his stuff. His team(s) know their stuff. There's a lot of experience here.

++ Communication. If you've ever dealt with construction/contractors, there's often a 'black hole' problem. Refael and I were in constant text contact throughout. Every question I had -- quick response. Weekends included. And again, this is over Xmas/NewYears.

I've dealt with my share of contractors over time. ELM/Refael's project customer-service is unrivalled.

Excellent communication from initial estimate scheduling, quote, walkthrough, signing contract, additional modification of work, answered all my concerns that I may have or even not thought of. The overall duration of the work was as discussed. Unfortunately, city cancelled the first inspection. 2 days delayed. Caivon and team came through and delivered the finishing touches including any adjustments requested, on time. Top notch experience throughout. Highly recommended.

I reached out to ELM because I had 2 leaks on my 2-story, 30+ year old home after this month's rain. Thiago reached back out to me immediately to schedule a free consultation. During his visit, he was thorough in checking not just the roof, but in the crawl space to see what kind of damage may have been caused already. Thiago gave me a detailed explanation as to what may have been happening, how the materials would be affected over time, and explaining what a repair would look like. He was careful to schedule the repair when conditions were safe for his team, while I appreciated. Thiago gave me a fair quote considering the busy rainy season. The job took far less than expected, and the crew cleaned up the work area well. Throughout the process, Thiago had sent me drone images of the progress. I appreciated his professionalism, communication, quality of work.

I hired ELM to repair a leak in my roof. Our Project Manager, Thiago, came out very soon after I called, looked the job over and came back with a crew in just a couple of days. I appreciated the promptness and the attention to detail in finding and repairing the leak area. I was shown pictures, before and after, of the repair area and I feel confident the repair was done properly. I was especially impressed with Thiago Silva for providing a reasonable price, for being honest in his presentation of the problem and for his prompt response to all matters of concern. LESS THAN 1 WEEK START TO FINISH!! With recent rains and severe winds we started getting a wet wall adjacent to a skylight. This leak went straight down the wall into the basement to form a small puddle on the basement floor. I looked at several reviews from several review sites Yelp, Google, Angies List, etc. I called 3 to come out for an estimate. While I was writing down the info for one on another site I noticed there was a small ad for ELM Roofing 4.9 / 5.0 stars (112 reviews) . With those kind of reviews I had to call ELM.

ELM was the last Roofer that came out on a Thursday and was the most prepared. The owner Harel (also goes by Rafael) is a very friendly and personable young man. Harel inspected the roof with pictures and then showed us the insurance he carried, his business license, great reviews/referral from a neighbor close by, samples of shingle colors. Harel discussed other costs in addition to the new roof. We appreciated that we were shown all costs upfront and that the estimate was transparent. We upgraded to copper flashing and chimneys because we live in the Outer Sunset where it's foggy and wet. Copper will hold up better and had a longer warranty.

We told Harel that we were planning on leaving in around 10 days so we would probably need a temporary fix until we returned. Harel has Seven Crews in SF in addition to other ELM Roofing branches in Marin Co. and San Mateo Co.. He said he would be able to finish Wednesday in one week!

Harel met us on a Thursday and gave us an estimate. Friday they started working and they worked through the weekend completing the roof Monday evening. The City Inspection is Wednesday. Thursday through Wednesday-- 1 WEEK!!

Harel was very easy to work with. Any questions I had I would receive a return text or a phone call within minutes. His crew Hilde and hi Ernesto, etc. were on time, courteous and cleaned up after themselves.

This was the smoothest and most worry free job I've done in the last 30 years I've been here. I can't recommend Harel and his crew enough!! Give Harel a call (415) 463-9319 and tell him Maureen recommended him.

ELM roofing was fantastic to work with. Smooth, constant communication during a wild week of moving into our new house. We had a pretty bad roof situation and during the rainstorm had interior leaking. ELM was the only roofing company to invite me up onto the roof with him (he asked politely if I would like to come up) and showed me specifically what was going on and how they would approach and solve the problem. He handled purchasing skylights for me and all logistics so I didn't have to think. The best part is we were able to go from quote to full replacement in less than a week and a half, which we desperately needed as more rain was coming. He even sent his team back to the roof to check on a light intrusion I thought was a problem but turned out was not the case, and were really great at explaining what I didn't understand.

Overall would highly recommend ELM to anyone who needs a roof replacement in SF. Seriously high quality work and almost just as important is great communication. Thanks!!
