Company Overview

As a family-owned roofing firm in Florida, Edwards Roofing has deep roots. Founded in 1935 by Albert Edwards, it boasts a long-standing legacy. In 1937, Albert was joined by his son, Thomas, to expand the business, and they opened their first office in downtown Pensacola, Florida. In 1941, Albert became the Escambia County Schools Superintendent, resulting in Thomas running the company until his death in 1944.

For a period of fifteen months, the company was run by non-family members until Raymond Edwards returned from World War II. He led the company for the next forty years. When Raymond joined, the company had just five employees, one flatbed truck, and minimal equipment. The tools and equipment have evolved considerably over the years, the technology has seen dramatic enhancements, with a wider variety of materials available than before. Despite these changes, the company has established itself as a leading commercial roofing contractor in the Gulf Coast region.

In the mid-1970s, Rick Edwards and his brother-in-law Bob Purdy joined the firm, carrying on the Edwards family legacy. With a workforce of over 50 talented employees, they have guided the company into modern times. Edwards Roofing is equipped with a vast fleet and the right equipment to fulfill all your roofing needs in Florida.

The company is licensed to provide services throughout Florida as a certified roofing contractor and a certified building contractor, holding license numbers CCC 017547 and CBC 056818.
