First off, Eco Smart Roofers showed up ON TIME. That is a major plus for any busy homeowner. My roof was replaced along with two skylights and a few terra cotta tiles at the entrance. My roof drain was cleared too. My property was swept clean of all roof debris after the work was done.
One thing I noticed is that my house is quieter and warmer. I am sure my next month's PG&E bill will reflect the improvements. I am very happy with my new roof.

Armand was wonderful to work with! We hired Eco Smart Roofer to provide a roof inspection on a potential investment property. His inspection was extremely thorough and opened our eyes to a multitude of problems with the property's roof, which, frankly, saved us from unknowingly inheriting a very serious repair. Armand was very knowledgeable, open and honest with us, discussing the options that we have to ""make things right."" Fantastic, Friendly, Professional Service

Based on the glowing Yelp reviews for EcoSmart Roofer, I contacted the company via their website. Within 24 hours, the owner, Armand Abelitis, contacted me via email to request permission to send a high-resolution camera-equipped drone over our house to ""inspect"" the roof so that his team would have an idea of the scope of the work to be done. Armand impressed me with his use of technology, but impressed me even more with his high level of customer service.

From the drone photos, he was able to discern the level of water damage and, therefore, the estimated square footage of dry rot. He prepared an estimate based on the photos, subject to actual physical inspection, of course. After I signed the work authorization, his team was on-site in a matter of days.

I mentioned that we were going to install solar panels, which is why we needed a new roof since the Sunrun team had discovered dry rot in their physical inspection of the roof. Armand worked with the Sunrun team to coordinate their installation of the stanchions for the solar panels so that the mounts would be in place before the EcoSmart team applied waterproof layers of roofing. That way, the mounts would not ""pierce"" the roofing material. Kudos to both EcoSmart and Sunrun for working collaboratively to coordinate installation.

The roofing team photographed every step of the process, so that I could see the extent of the damage before their work, the repairs that they made, and the various layers of new roof. The project supervisor, Vavo, was on-site every day to ensure quality, daily clean-up of debris, and customer satisfaction.

At the end of the project, Armand came back with the high-tech drone to make photographs of the finished roof. It was fun to watch how adroitly he maneuvered the drone, as well as the amazing level of detail from the high-resolution photographs.

Armand kept in touch via text or phone calls during the process, as well as following up afterwards. There was one stucco patch on our chimney that I wasn't quite satisfied with (the finish was not as smooth as it should have been). Armand had the team back the next day to reapply and repaint the stucco patch.

Clearly, Armand takes pride in his company's work ... rightfully so. He is attuned to customer service and follow-up, and his team is skilled and professional. I'm quite pleased with the new roof ... and very glad that we chose EcoSmart Roofer for the job.

Eco Smart Roofer is top notch. Armand was extremely knowledgeable and discussed options openly and honestly with me. We opted for a new double bitumen torch down GTA roofing application by GAF (Ruberoid torch granule membrane) followed by three coats of a siliconized coating system by RoofTek colored white for maximum sun and heat reflection. They also replaced three skylights, which made us confident that we were getting a complete new roofing system. With the new cool white roof, we can already tell that our house is cooler during the warm summer days, and cools down much more quickly at night, which is much more comfortable.

Our experience with Eco Smart was superb. From diagnosing the problem using drone imaging and direct inspection, to evaluating our options, to completing the work on time and budget, the experience was top notch. Their workers were prompt, courteous, and completed their work on time and with a high degree of professionalism. For example, they removed the old tar and gravel roof in about 3 hours! They were kind to our neighbors, and addressed their concerns promptly and professionally and ensured that there property was free of debris. Armand and his foreman were always available to discuss the project as the work progressed, so communication was fantastic. Truly one of the best contractors I have ever worked with (and there have been many over the years).

If you want superb workmanship and the latest green roofing technology, Eco Smart is your best bet. We have been fully satisfied with the work, and they are terrific to interact with. I would not use anyone else.

My roof was the selling point of the house - great view, relatively newly done, appliances and amenities, etc. But I came to hate it because it leaked badly. I had several professionals come out for assessments and each voiced their opinion, but nobody would take on the project. Eco Smart was the first company to give a reasonable estimate and have the guts to ""tell it to me straight"". It promised to be a complex, long project and I went with Eco Smart because their proposal was detailed and I felt comfortable they knew what they were doing. The projected ended up being even more complex than we expected, but Eco Smart did a great job rooting out all the problems and potential problems and keeping me up to date on progress. They did great work, are honest, and I strongly recommend them.

These guys are amazing! It was a little hard to get in touch at first, but all the roofing companies were super busy after the rain this winter. We had multiple leaks causing mold and drywall damage due to some shoddy contractor and roofing work less than 4 years ago. Once we dealt with those issues we started looking for a roofing company. Eco Smart used their drone technology and an on site inspection to evaluate our complex situation (2 different levels of flat roof plus a roof deck that had been installed only 4 years previously.) Armand was very professional and knowledgeable on the phone and in person. Their bid was comparable to another recommended company, but their customer service up front made it no contest. Once the work started I was impressed by their speed, cleanliness and competence. They had to deal with a narrow light well situation for access to the 3rd and 4th floor roofs. They protected the side of our building while hauling all their material up to the roof areas. Because our deck area was leaking badly, the entire area needed to be de-constructed and rebuilt after waterproofing. Christian is a skilled carpenter, finisher, painter, etc. He was able to reconstruct the entire deck without problem and in it's original (now waterproof) condition. Not to mention that we didn't have to buy any new siding or other components as he was able to repurpose all the wood and railings and reinstall them in their original configuration. I even tried to see if Christian would do some other work for us but he's super loyal to Eco and has worked for them for 10 years. He's a treasure! We now have a state of the art, 4 ply roof system that should last a very, very long time! Thanks Eco Smart!! You will get all my recommendations in the future.

We originally contracted Armand to replace the roof and drain on our light well, which was leaking into our basement. His team did such a good job that we decided to have Eco Smart replace the entire roof on our house. Armand's team showed up on time and were prepared for the job. They were polite, clean and efficient. Vlad was the onsite supervisor, and he kept everyone focused on the project which they completed in just two days. The roof looks wonderful; the joints are sealed and the flashing is all tight; the structure under the roof was rotted, and they replaced all of the damaged places with new struts and plywood so it feels strong and no longer bounces when walked upon. The team cleaned up after the job and removed all the debris. Armand is very professional and easy to work with. When we had questions, he provided complete information for us and talked us through the whole job before starting. We would highly recommend Armand and his team for any roofing project.

If you don't want to read the review, know that Eco Smart Roofer deserves their 5 stars.

We knew we needed a new roof. We have been putting it off because we haven't had any rain. So El Nino comes around and it's dumping and I'm huddling in my house like one of the three little pigs and the big bad wolf is blowing down my house. Water started coming through our stove vent and I knew we couldn't put off on fixing our roof any longer. Actually we could have because it stopped raining and we patched up the vent.

I called Eco Smart Roofer and they told me to put in a service request online. We knew we wanted a new roof and not a repair. I put in a request online and then was asked to allow them to fly a drone over my building. I approved through email. A few days pass and I didn't hear back from Eco Smart so I gave them a ring. I spoke with Armand and he said he was busy but to send him an email so he can be reminded to send me a quote. After a few days I still didn't receive anything so I followed-up. I received a quote a few days later with an apology. I knew they were busy and I wasn't upset because every time I emailed, he responded, not like that other roofing company. I received a quote and boy was I shocked. I knew it was going to be expensive but I was still shocked. On top of that, we knew we had other things that would come up that needed to be fixed.

I signed the agreement on Friday for work to start on Monday without ever meeting Armand. I was nervous. Was Eco Smart going to live up to it's reviews? Sometimes I feel like we choose a 5 star company and end up getting an entirely different experience than everyone else. Armand went over the other areas that needed to be fixed that wasn't in the quote. I liked that Armand came up with suggestions and always gave at least two options. He took the time to explain everything. He has great ideas so make sure you listen to him. Armand also looked around our house and told us areas that needed to be addressed. They were not roof related and he was not going to gain anything out of it.

Vlad made sure that our bathroom was taped up so the debris from the roof would not fall through while they were working on our skylight. Vlad took pictures of the progress and uploaded them to the cloud for us.

At one point during the process we found a soft spot in the flat roof. We asked about it and it was because our roof slats had two holes in them. They reinforced that spot and is no longer soft.

They finished the job in 3 days. They worked from 7:30am to 5pm. They work hard and fast. More importantly, they did a great job. I talked to a few of the guys and could tell that they were proud of their work and knew what they were doing. The job site was cleaned up everyday.

Eco Smart Roofer put a new roof on my Edwardian apartment building in Mission Dolores. I liked the following about Eco Smart:

1) They could assess the condition of the roof without my being present because they could fly a drone over my building. The thermal scans of the roof indicate where water has penetrated below the roof because wet wood has a different thermal signature than dry wood.

2) Eco started on the job just 4 days after I accepted their roof replacement proposal because I had scaffolding up in front of the building. Their thinking was that they would place the garbage chute down the scaffolding although they never actually used the scaffolding in the job. They finished in 3 days. Other roofing firms were scheduling out into the summer.

3) Eco provides a 10-year warranty and free inspections every 2 years whereas other firms are offering only 5-year warranties.
