Had an intermittent leak in a 20 year old roof (30 year shingles). Elected to try a repair instead of replacement. This was done in Aug. 2020 by Billy Dodd & 2 helpers. Took about 3 hours at a cost of $2500. Seemed a bit high but came with 1 year warranty. Intermittent leak continued - in different places and not with every rain. Unusual ceiling construction and insulation caused leak to show at locations other than where water penetrated. Billy was out 2 other times about a month apart when I reported more leaks. Each time he did more repairs but the leak continued but not after every rain. In Dec. 2020 I requested a different repair person come and Mark Ashe (Echols President) came and climbed on the roof with me. After studying the situation he admitted he was not sure they could find the leak and preferred to return all my money. Said he would sleep better at night. My full $2500 was promptly returned and I will now start over and replace the entire roof. For the sincere effort Echols made to made things right plus the honesty I think they deserve 4 stars. I'm not sure other firms could have done better. My regret is not doing a complete reroof in the first place.

We called Echols to get a quote on replacing our windows. (They were listed in 2020 Spring Edition of ""Best Picks"" Atlanta. Our call was returned by a Gainesville number & we don't answer calls not recognized. ""Mona"" left a VM that ""they could not help us out as ALL of their ""crew"" was in Dublin Ga working on a job"". Don't know why this Co. Is Listed in the 2020 Spring version of ""Atlanta Picks"" (for Buckhead and Midtown) if they are such a small company they don't have enough reps to serve metro Atlanta. And the receptionists need to be told to quit asking for people's addresses when they call to speak to a rep for a quote. We were also asked for an email! Why ask all of this info if the Co is too small to do much work? Last thing we want in America's warzone right now is some stranger with our address, knowing we have the means to get a $20+K job done. Sorry you lost our business... ""Echols"".

Echols has done several repairs for us. They replaced a roof, replaced gutters, replaced old vinyl siding with Hardie Plank cement board, and replaced windows. Also repaired a deck. All quality work, at a fair price, with no high pressure sales. Very straightforward and a pleasure to work with.

I used Echols several years ago to replace a roof. They weren't the cheapest but I went with them because of their reputation. Fast forward to 2019, I needed larger vents for the exhaust fans in our bathrooms. The vents installed by Echols were too small for larger fans. We were having moisture problems in the bathrooms and needed larger vents. In short, Echols refused to replace the vents on the roof with larger vents (they had installed the existing vents), apparently because the job wasn't big enough. What good is a roofer if they won't help you with follow up work that doesn't involve replacing an entire roof? I rate them very poor for customer service and arrogant attitude. Now I'm left with trying to find another roofer to handle a small job, which is very difficult to do. I would never call them again and never recommend them. If you use them, be prepared for ""no"" when you need follow up work.

All of this rain reminds me that I'm so glad we had Echol's Roofing fix our roof back in August. We got quotes from several companies and they were competitive. They showed up on time and fixed the problem. No more leeks! Awesome, to finally have it fixed and not worry about it anymore. Check them out, they were professional and friendly.

I am shocked to see the low scores on this company. I found them in the 'Best Pick Reports' we got in the mail and so glad I did! AC was our contact the entire time and was WONDERFUL! He held my hand through the whole experience of replacing our entire siding, new shutters, and front door. We were SO SO PLEASED with the end result. The crew was thorough and very polite (don't speak much English) but they did great work! I would recommend in a heartbeat and I will to all my friends. Thank you guys for our beautiful new home :)

I'd like to share a great experience that we had with Echols and one of their roofing team members, Billy Dodd. My wife and I had a leak in our upstairs bedroom that came through during a heavy rain a few weeks ago. After finding Echols in a ""Best of Atlanta"" guide, we tried to set up time with them for a repair estimate. We had someone out within a day to take a look at the roof. Billy was extremely courteous and walked me through where he believed the leak to be. While to repair was a little pricier than I expected, Billy got me on the schedule quickly and offered to help do the general shingle maintence we needed as well.

After a week or so, Billy came back out to complete the repairs. While I wasn't able to be home, Billy took a number of pictures of the before and after work and identified the issue where we expected. We have not additional issues since the repair and would recommend Echols and Billy for future work.

I don't understand some of the negative reviews. This is the second time we've used them and they have always been good at communicating the timing of service as well as the costs. Our roof leak was repaired quickly and we were given options on simply fixing the leak or replacing the entire flashing. I also like their personal follow-up as a locally owned business.

I called Echol's because one of my neighbor's used them to do some work on their shingles and I had a similar project at my home. One of Echol's contractors came out to my home last week (showed up almost an hour late) and gave me some options and said he would send me a written quote which I never got. Today, I received a phone call from Mark (I believe he is one of the owners) and he said they took on a larger job/contract so they could not do the work at my house and he just abruptly hung up in my face without giving me any other options or time to respond. It's obvious that they do not look out for ""the little guy"" and have no problem leaving customers in the dust. I felt the need to write this review to warn others. I guess the $15,000+ job I was willing to give them was not good enough. I also work in the city's
building industry and could have brought them additional residential and commercial business. You never know who your potential customers could be Echol's! I would give them zero stars if this was an option. It's no coincidence that other reviewers of this company feel the same way I do and are totally dissatisfied with Echol's lack of customer service. This seems to be a common theme amongst other reviewers. I would NEVER recommend this company.
