John and his team fixed our roof last year when we had a leak. He ended up having to fix a bigger section than seemed necessary. But we trusted his opinion on the matter. He seemed to do the job well at a relatively reasonable price. But less than a year later, we had our first hard rain and started to see some dripping inside around the area he had worked. The contract on the work said that it was guaranteed for a year. So, when I contacted him about it he came out to take a look. After having a quick inspection, but not really determining the source of the leak, he said he had to get some more roof tiles, or something, and then he would be back to get up there for a more thorough look. He blamed it on his team not being reliable when he trusts them to do a good job:(

But since that meeting he has been M.I.A. I've called and emailed several times to get an update. But he never picks up or returns our calls/messages. I liked John while he was doing the work and I'd be happy to update this review if he would just make things right regarding the work that he guaranteed.

John is unbelievable. My husband saw his truck at another house and stopped to ask him about our roof. Since he just finished up he said he would stop by now. When he got they we explained that we had solar put on over a year ago and have been having problems ever since. Our solar company re did part of the roof and we still had major leaks. They even told us they didnt know where the new leaking was coming from. John got up on the roof and found it in a few minutes. He gave us and estimate and we were shocked about how affordable he is. This company will be the ONLY company we will ever allow to touch our roof. They deserve much more than 5 stars. Its hard to find a company who takes such pride in their work like East Counting roofing.

John the owner did a great job installing 90' of painted facia board, along with drip edge. He offered to cut some rotted beams, not in bid, which was greatly appreciated, and improved home appearance. As owner, he was on site working along with Thomas, 90% of the time. I highly recommend this roofer!

I'm extremely happy with John and his crew. Two years ago I received 7 bids to have my home, including the flat roof patio stripped, the rotted wood replaced, and a new roof installed. Without knowing the bids his price was the best. Started on a Sunday & finished by Wednesday. No delays or excuses that he couldn't be there for a day. Get on site, keep it going, & get it done. I can't say enough about John Wescott of East County Roofing. My home is large, two story, custom design, diverse dimensions roofing. A very difficult one to work on. John came, carefully measured and appraised the cost of a total new roof, the old one was thirty years old, gave me a very reasonable estimate, and kept to that estimate when finished. Even though he added miscellaneous items needed as he went along. He worked in the heat of East County, including Saturday and Sunday (concerned because it might rain some, and it did Sunday) and passed inspection satisfactorily. In my home, when he had finished, he received three customer call requesting service. He is a hard worker, hands on, honest, very personable, and does a professional job, always arriving with crew on time. And I can recommend him without reservations. Five stars guy.

John with East County Roofing was our third estimate for upgrades to our concrete tile roof to accommodate solar panels. John's estimate was lower than the others and his recommendations were very logical, made good common sense. He was straight forward and honest, saving us several thousand dollars in unnecessary tile replacement by applying the old rule of ""If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"". His team completely removed all original concrete roof tiles, including several damaged tiles, replaced the underlay with a newer updated and heavier underlay and then was able to find replacement tiles that closely matched the ones that needed replacing. He also included 2 solar vent turbines with his work and we were very pleased with the outcome! We did have some minor ""bumps"" and issues with labor during the process but nobody's perfect, when John was made aware of any issues, he promptly took care of them and we would definitely call on East County Roofing for any future roofing issues or repairs! We came to like and appreciate John's honesty and overall judge him as a ""good person""!
