Earl Johnson did a full replacement of my roof, including tile and a flat roof behind. Their team, including AJ and Meg, were highly professional in all our interactions. We had some trouble with the tile supplier, and it was Earl Johnson's people who spotted the color discrepancy when the supplier brought tile of the same color but from two different lots. They stayed on top of the issue and resolved it to my satisfaction. When Earl's teams of workers came on two different instances (the tile roof and the flat roof), they worked efficiently, cleaned up after themselves and were informative and polite.

I hired Earl Johnston based on high rated reviews to re-roof my home. I changed from shingles to a tile roof with the idea that a tile roof would last longer with fewer problems. Earl Johnston completed my roof just over 5 years ago and I already have trouble with grout cracking around the tiles. The company provided me with a 10 year warranty for labor and materials at the time of completion. When I contacted the company, I scheduled an appointment with Anjoe Barrett. Mr. Barrett came out to assess the work required for the repair. To my surprise, Mr. Barrett provided me with an estimate fo $1,505. When I contacted Mr. Barrett questioning the charge and told him the roof was still under warranty, he replied the work I needed was not covered. He said that I probably walked on the roof and that is what caused the damage. I never walked on the roof! I noticed the cracking grout from the ground. He still told me that the roof is not covered. I then contacted the company directly. After a lot of ""run around"", I finally spoke to Meg Romeo on July 12 of this year. I mentioned to Meg that I had emailed the company requesting the repair. She claimed the email was never received. Finally, after a number of follow up attempts, Ms. Romeo finally acknowledged receipt of my email on July 19 and told me she would ""get it to Earl and will be back in touch."" She never contacted me post acknowledgment. On July 26, I followed up via emailed asking about the status of my request. Ms. Romeo replied ""He has been working out in the field on a large project...haven't had the opportunity to discuss with him...It will not be forgotten, just give me a bit more time."" On August 1, I followed up again via email and there was no reply to my follow up. I tried again on August 9 requesting the courtesy of a reply. No response. This is a very frustrating and aggravating situation when I have a contract denoting the 10 year warranty Earl Johnston will not even acknowledge my request. Do yourself a favor, do not hire Earl Johnston Roofing! They do not back up their work!

When I purchased my house in Hollywood part of the contract was to have the house tented for termites and a new roof to meet the seller's price.
Earl Johnston Roofing got the roof job, this was done during the transaction of selling the house.
One year later when the rains came, my roof was leaking really bad, messed up my ceiling and cost me a repair job on the ceiling.
I went to check the roof with my neighbor , who works in construction, showed me that Earl Johnston did not install any gutter liners in the channels on the roof so water was funneling down but leaking through.

So I called Earl Johnson Roofing and told them there was a 20 year guarantee on my roof and it's leaking really bad.
They told me that the warranty did not apply to my roof because it was in the previous owner's name.
I explained that this roof is part of the sale and the warranty should cover the defects.
But the scumbags at Earl Johnston Roofing would not fix their mistake and it cost me nearly a Thousand dollars to have 4 gutter liners installed in my roof's channels.
Earl Johnson Roofing is a dishonest company that hires know-nothings to come out and screw up your roof. STAY AWAY !

Had requested an estimate for roof-a-cide. From the quote to the staff performing the service, everything was pleasant. Service is always important, however the interaction between customer and vendor is also important. Both interactions gave me confidence that the job was done well and if there is a fault, they would resolve it. I would use them again for roof-a-cide when the time comes.

Been using this family owned business for what must be 25-30 years. That they are still in business is a fine testament in itself. They have put on several roofs for me and my immediate family and a handful of others that I recommended Earl for. And a few repairs along the way. All were done in a professional manner. Earl is an honest stand up guy with many, many years of experience

I have been trying to get an estimate for a total roof replacement since August 28 and nobody has called me for an appointment. Now, I can't even talk to a person because you can only leave messages. I was referred to this company by a friend, but they have terrible customer service and I will get a quote another company.

They put on my flatroof 7 years ago. Now I have a leak. They'll come out and quote but no discount for their customers, they charge full load even though they said they roof was good for 20 years. So I called 2 other roofers who both quoted $1000 to repair the leak (thanks Earl!) and they both said the same thing: CRAPPY JOB! Never again

They never answered my calls or even request for an estimate on the Yelp site. Hopefully this means they have tons of business and don't need business. When a business won't follow up on a self-referred sales lead that isn't a good sign. What happens if you use them and have a problem?

At the time I requested a quote, yelp messaging had to be enabled otherwise you wouldn't have been listed. In any case I hope you didn't respond because you very busy. I can't comment on the quality of their work, only there response for estimates.

I find it very interesting that this company gets either ones or fives. I guess if you use them you have a chance of a really good experience or really bad one. Good luck!!

Sad that I couldn't even confirm an appointment to get an estimate with them. Called on Tuesday and the lady said, ""We are booked for August, but someone will call you today to schedule an estimate"". No one called. So I called back and left a message on Wednesday. No call returned. So I called on Thursday, and she said ""We are booked for all of August and September and I don't have anyone to send out to you to do an estimate"". Well, if you're turning away customers, you must not need any clients!
