I was the tenant lined up to move into Michael's ADU. Dynasty told us in the beginning the ADU would be completed in 2 months. After 14 months the ADU was no where near complete and I had to find another place to live. Dynasty continuously lied to us about when things would be complete. The final draw was on 9/21/2023. They told us they had final inspection to obtain the certificate of occupancy but when the inspector came he issued major corrections for all permits: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, building and fire. After that dynasty terminated their contract with Michael and refused to finish the job. Now Michael is left with an ADU that cannot pass inspection without spending tens of thousands of dollars to complete the corrections. The experience we had with Dynasty was awful and I would highly recommend against doing business with them.
did tons of incompetent work. wouldn't pay the electrician who actually did good work and has a family. now there's legal proceedings. the stuff they did wrong is laughable. it's like they were making it up as they went. then refused to fix mistakes, just demanded more money and stopped working. Run as far away as you can.
Michael H.BEWARE!!!! - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DYNASTY!
these guys are scammers, running a ponzi scheme! I hired Dynasty to build an ADU in my backyard. We signed a contract through a construction lender and project was financed through a loan. Right off the bat we had problems, they wanted to be paid up front more that what was in our contract and refused to proceed with any work without being paid prior to work getting completed. They would not follow the terms of the contract, rather than completing the work and receiving progress payments as milestones were completed and stated in the contract, they refused to complete work and demanded money be paid prior to milestones and inspections being completed.
No one would show up for weeks or most days when workers did come they would arrive after 10AM and leave by 2PM, we weren't seeing any progress months into the project. We couldn't get our Project Manager, Robin to answer the phone or respond to us. We requested a schedule multiple times through out the project but they could never provide us one. Eddie, the owner of the company is incompetent and has no idea how to run a business. He had no involvement in our project and no understanding of how horribly things were being managed by his project manager. Then when we brought it to his attention and we met with him, instead of getting the project back on track he just demanded we pay him more money up front before he would continue any work. He had to explain to him how our contract with the bank worked multiple times and he refused to follow the progress payment schedule in our contract. Putting our project on hold 3 different times, refusing to honor the contract he signed and delaying work for months. The work they did complete was sloppy and done incorrectly, windows were installed incorrectly, the foundation wasn't poured level, skylight openings were the wrong size, HVAC system was installed too close to the property line, improper grading was done so the unit floods when it rains, Different siding and tile was installed from what we picked out with the project manager, the list goes on and on. These people are completely incompetent and cannot manager a construction project.
Dynasty took close to $200,000 of my money and left me with a structure that cannot be used and is impossible to obtain the certificate of occupancy for unless we spend tens of thousands of dollars correcting their mistakes. Multiple times they refused to move forward unless we paid additional funds prior to work being completed outside of what was in our contract.
Our project was supposed to take 2-3 months and immediately we were behind schedule, after 13 months of trying to work with them to get a 300 square foot ADU competed, we were still no where near completion. My ADU is the one shown all over their social media, I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DYNASTY!
They stole from me; the sub-contractors tell me they stole from their other clients as well. We paid and held up our end of the contract but Dynasty did not. They will take your money and use it toward other projects. While your project will be delayed for months and they'll make excuses, asking you for more money, always saying that if you pay them more money they can get back to work and get things done faster.
The biggest red flag here is they do not pay their sub-contractors. The sub contractors will show up at your house months later looking for payment because they never got paid from Dynasty. liens have been filed against Dynasty for multiple projects where Dynasty did not paid their sub-contractors and I know at least 6 of sub-contractor from my job are still owned money from Dynasty.
I've filed a complaint with the Contractor State License Board. Eddie, the owner of this company is a bad person and he cheats hard working people out of their hard earned money. Hopefully this business will be shut down by the Contractor State License Board. Until that happens DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
I got 3 estimates prior to selecting a contractor to do the earthquake retrofitting to my 1951 built home in Monterey Park. Dynasty Builders seemed to be the most down-to-earth and credible company of the 3 so I went with them. The process was flawless from start to finish. Steve handled all the communications and paperwork throughout, including taking photos of the property and submitting them to Earthquake Brace & Bolt (EBB) and the city inspector for final approval. I received my incentive check from EBB within 2 weeks of the final approval. I had considered doing the earthquake retrofitting for at least 15 years. It is now a done deal. No headaches because Steve and his crew were so efficient and dedicated to the work at my house.
Chris F.We did a small remodel with them last summer (I know, it's taken forever for me to write this review!). Bathroom was stripped down to the studs plus new carpeting in the bedrooms and our fireplace area totally resurfaced with built-ins on either side.
We chose them over a couple other bids because they truly LISTENED when they came to meet with us. Robin took extensives notes and asked plenty of questions - then gave us an estimate that was itemized, included add-on options, and was a fair price. We were very happy with that part of the process.
The actual construction work took quite a bit longer than expected (although that's the norm with this type of business). On day 1 they discovered the bathroom sub-flooring had to be significantly redone, which added a lot of time (and money). They also had some delays in ordering the wrong window for the bathroom. And then we had a baby three weeks early (not their fault!), which pushed the finishing touches back a month or so. They finished most of the work the day before our baby shower (although we forced them to hustle their last couple days).
The final product is beautiful - the built-ins around the fireplace are to-die-for, the carpeting is great, and the bathroom beautiful. Some minor cosmetic issues (the paint on the fireplace is uneven, several tile/grout inconsistencies in the bathroom, paint on the cabinets chipped on day 1).
Rounded down to 4 stars because of the minor cosmetic issues and some confusion with communication leading up to the work being done - and on the final days. During the heart of their work, communication with Robin was excellent - very resposnsive and informative. Just wished that had been consistent in the weeks leading up to the work.
We are considering doing a significant renovation in the years ahead and will definitely reach out to them first if we do so. Would recommend!
Diane T.I want to thank Dynasty Builders for the amazing work that they just completed with my home which I've had for almost 35 years in the city of Whittier. They just completed a foundation retrofit through the California earthquake brace and bolt program. They were efficient and completed all the steps that were necessary through the required online information and they made this whole process as painless as possible for me the consumer. Thank You!!... the entire Dynasty Builders team!!
Eddie M.Enjoyed working with Dynasty Builders on my earthquake retrofit. I applied for the CEA brace and bolt program. Eddie Garcia and his team were very professional. They kept us apprised of the process. Erica responded in a timely manner to my emails and phone calls. Thanks Dynasty.
Dynasty did an earthquake retrofit on my house.
They were the lowest quote and they finished in a timely manner considering the Covid slowdown. The workers are prompt and professional.
Jackie in the office was very kind and helpful. I am currently hiring Dynasty to do more work at my house. I highly recommend.
Eddie, Joseph and Jackie were a great company to work with and really made my project a success. Thanks to them I received quality care and work that will last a life time. Their friendly approach and great pricing makes a future job with them a definite YES. Thanks Dynasty Builders for all your hard work and professional practice. Thank you, Bill L. Pasadena, CA.
I am a single woman and this was my experience with Dynasty Builders Inc. I first met Eddie two years ago, I needed a quote to remodel my kitchen. I had three other quotes and of course he out bid them. I signed a retainer in mid May of 2019 and the company began the project on the 28th of May, they finished ""March 28 2020"". After reading the comments of Laura B. I realized that my project was likely pushed aside to complete her and her ""husbands"" home remodel. My home was in shambles for nearly ten months. I'm still cleaning and finalizing painting that was not completed by this company. I understand that they had internal issues with their workers which lengthened the completion date but that should not have held up my project. The employees that were working here from time to time were very messy, made use of my garage and tools without permission, as well as leaving lunch trash and beer cans in my backyard. I found myself continuously calling their office to see when they would be returning or to find out what was next. I am still calling them to this day because the countertop that was installed by Fremont Cabinets in Alhambra, installed stained and defective countertops, which Fremont Cabinets is dismissing any type of warranty. My backsplash has two different colored grout because the subcontractor they hired was too lazy to match it. I really didn't see much of Eddie but I did maintain contact with his nephew Peter, who was probably the foreman of my project. He was a pleasure to work with, when he was here. Towards the end and almost completion of my project, I just wanted them out.
I want to say they did a good job but the length of time to complete the project and all the little imperfections evident in my home overshadow their workmanship. I don't want to say that I don't recommend them but as the saying goes, ""Buyer beware"".
