The team at Dura-Foam did a great job on the install. Lalo and his crew were courteous, and explained every important step that needed to happen. Only had the roof in for 2 months but there is a noticeable improvement in the insulation of the whole house.

Had a few hiccups in the beginning, and the communication on scheduling can be difficult to pin down. Its probably a mix of weather conditions and Dura-Foam not wanting to open themselves up to litigation, but I found it hard to get estimated time to start the job.

All is well though as the roof got installed in the nick of time, and Rick and Carol in the office were very responsive when coordinating several contractors during the job.

Thanks Dura-Foam!

Dura-Foam did a great job installing our new foam roofs on our home additions. Lalo, Jesus, Emiliano, and Rick Feriante were very responsive answering my questions and I felt they were focused on ensuring our roof would keep our home cool in the summer and last a very long time.

They were also very helpful in identifying ways to improve the older sections of the roof. We look forward to having them back after we install our mini-split system hvac system.

We had our tar & gravel roof done by Dura-Foam when we purchased our home back in 2014.

We went with dura-foam because they seemed to be the most knowledgeable and the foam roof would last the longest.

It's been about 2 1/2 now and the roof still performs great.

Rick was super professional and answered my incessant questions.

Why did I deduct a star? There is some slight ponding around the drainage to the downspouts and the texture of the roofing around that area looks different now, we'll see if it lasts until the scheduled 5 year recoat.

First out, let me say I definitely recommend Dura-Foam if you need coordination of multiple trades as well as foam roofing.
We had a very complicated situation. We had a flat foam, roof with three different levels, HVAC ducting and gas lines running across two levels, and antiquated electrical circuits.
Our ground story is adobe, our second story is standard construction.
When we needed to resurface the foam roof, we decided to install a solar system. This required removing HVAC and lines from both levels, re-foaming, installing supports and panels at two levels, replacing part of the HVAC system with a split unit, and completely upgrading the Main Service Panel.
For this project, we needed an experienced company that could integrate all the trades necessary.
After locating Dura-Foam and working through our various issues, we wound up with three different contracts with them-- one for the Roof, one for the Solar and Electrical, and one for the gas line work (plumbing). Oh, and one for the split unit, which was installed by One Hour Heating and Air..
A lot of coordination with various trades, as well as Monte Sereno inspectors, PGE, etc. etc. was called for.
DuraFoam (Jarom/Carol) handled it all, and everything completed satisfactorily. We did have some problems getting scheduing information ahead of time, but overall that worked out.
No denying, there was a certain amount of pain during the process, which took from May until August to complete. We had to go without A/C most of a pretty hot summer. But, I shouldn't really complain because the Dura-Foam crew had to work outside on our roof in that same heat!
Now, the roof looks good, the solar system is delivering energy as expected, and all the electrical and gas lines to the house have been upgraded.
The roof has yet to be fully tested by a winter's worth of rain, but we believe DuraFoam did quality work that prepares us for a long period with no problems.

Dura-Foam seemed like the obvious choice after recommendations from several of my neighbors who also have ""modern"" flat-roofed homes. Dura-Foam's team was very professional through both the sales and installation process. My roof drains much better now and the added insullation has made the home noticably more comfortable compared to the old tar and gravel system. I expect this roof to last a long time since some of my neighbors have Dura-Foam roofs that are over 20 years old.

Dura-Foam installed a foam roof on our Eichler addition. 5-stars all around! They were able to schedule the job on short notice, and finished on time and budget. They also took care of several things our general contractor failed to complete in preparation of the foam roof install.
Having had the most rain in the last 100 years this winter, I can confidently say the roof is 100% leak free. Thank you!

We contacted Dura-foam to recoat our Eicher roof based on the good reviews. After signing a contract, the roofers showed up when we're not expecting them. This happened multiple times, which was a problem as we have a dog in the backyard that needs to be put in the house before they can work. Communication with Dura-foam was hard as they didn't return phone calls or they would call my phone after being asked to call my husband's phone, for example.

After the work was done, our roof leaked after the first real storm of the season. They came out and fixed out, but wanted to charge me $250! I just paid $5000 for a leaky roof? I think it's ridiculous that they want to charge me to fix their work-never mind the fact that their workmanship damaged my drywall. Very frustrating experience to say the least. Know before hand, that they will charge you to repair their work!!

We have an Eichler and recently replaced our old tar and gravel roof with foam with Durafoam several months ago, in August. Since then the roof has been holding up well against heat and rain. We had some hot days in September, and the house was nice and cool. As a bonus, even the garage is noticeably cooler.

The service from Durafoam is great, what you would expect from a local company. Rick is very responsive and good about answering questions. The work crew was considerate and worked hard to get the job done.

They were flexible enough to honor an estimate done several months earlier. As well as responding well to post-installation questions. So I'm comfortable that they're in this to build a long term relationship.

Overall a great home improvement experience.

So far, so good. I'll be updating the review upon completion (with pictures)

We are having a foam room placed on our home in San Mateo in a few weeks. I am really looking forward to it. We already have half of our home with DuraFoam done on an extension of the property -- For reference: the extension was poorly constructed (by previous owner) and is on a slab foundation with low-grade windows. Now, in the winter, if we leave off the heater, our back room stays at 77% humidity and 68 Degrees F -- the remaining tar/gravel and above ground portion of the home is somewhere around 87% humidity and 55 Degrees F. That is a significant difference!! The foam roof we have on right now is about 10+/- years old -- so we can obviously tell you: this is the very best roof for energy efficiency!! I cannot stress that enough.

When the sales guy came out on-site my husband was very impressed. We had 3 quotes from other companies I should add; and there were definitely cheaper options. That being said, the knowledge and thoroughness of the salesman were ultimately what had us choose Dura-Foam.

The areas of improvement: when I first called for a bid, I felt like the people answering the phone weren't knowledgeable, seemed disorganized, etc. I felt like I was calling someone's home instead of an office, and they acted like I caught them off-guard. The exact same thing happened when I called for a bid today on another property. As a marketing and PR professional I would recommend they look into a call-center to take basic messages and allow sales to call back the prospective clients directly rather than the current method.

Second: My elderly grandmother was very impressed with the old roof, and the pricing for the new roof we received. She really wants it done on her smaller rental property in San Francisco. I called to ask if they do SF and I was told ""Maybe"", put on hold, and then told to call back next year to set up a date to get a QUOTE. Hmm... we got our quote in August, we're getting the work in December. If I call in January, I'll get a quote in Feb and a job in May?? My grandmother is in her late 80's, she's not calling anyone to do work, she just wants a bid, an approx date of when they might be able to do it, and send in a check. It's fairly simple. A suggestion for improved service would be to make an appointment for a quote, and then allow her to send in the down-payment and select a loose date of installation (providing the weather permits, of course). The home may be small, but the job will not be -- it's a pre-1906 home with much roofing needed.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to having a significantly warmer (and drier) home after my new roof is installed. December can't come soon enough!

We did not have a good experience with this company. We recently needed to replace the trim due to dry rot. We've been working with an excellent contractor for 2 years and had them replace the trim for us, but they don't do spray roofs. In the course of replacing the trim, there was now a gap between the roof and the flashing that needed to be resprayed. My father in law had used this company for many years prior.

These guys came out once, bashed our contractor's workmanship, and said they could replace all of the new flashing so it met ""their standards,"" for an additional cost of several thousand dollars of course. I met with one of their surveyors and they continually asked to speak with my husband so they could ""explain it to him."" They refused to spray just the edges, even with us signing off on a waiver, and told us just to bring the truck out would cost $1500. That's without even spraying anything. Then they said they wanted to respray the whole roof because they said it had been sprayed unevenly before, despite the fact that their company was the one that had done the work in the first place. After all of this, they never contacted us back with a bid, despite us reaching out to them numerous times.

We ended up going with another company that came out and did the work in one afternoon for $3500. The first rain of the season has come and gone and the work looks great. We no longer have leaks between the trim and the roof. They also gave us a good recommendation on a product we could use to seal several tiny holes we found in the foam from blackbirds that periodically peck at it.
