Over a few years, I had two other roofers unsuccessfully try to fix some non-obvious leaks and then I got a third person in who said the only way to end the leaks would be a totally new carport roof. I then called Bob who fixed the leaks, told me that the carport roof was in great shape except for a couple of areas that he was able to fix for a fraction of the cost of the other quote. Bob also told me to call him if there were any problems, as we were about to have another stormy week. It's been fine since.

I also recently called Bob back to re-roof just the south side of my house in preparation for solar panels. He did what needed to be done so that when we get around to doing the other side of the roof, there will be a seamless flow of the roofing materials.

Bob has been in business many years and he's ""old school."" He likes to explain what he's doing and why he's doing it. He likes to save people money and confided in me that many roofers would rather insist on a whole new roof than just doing repairs. That was certainly the case with the guy who wanted to re-roof my whole carport when it didn't need to be.

One final note regarding another reviewer who seemed to equate how much time a roofer spends with the cost of the service....well, the cost for many services is for competency and accuracy, not how long one spends. If a roofer can take care of a problem in half the time as someone who is not competent, then why should it matter? You should pay for someone's expertise, not necessarily ""by the hour.""

After calling 5 roofers (most of whom thought I needed a new roof without looking at it) Bob was the only one who was standing on the roof on a Saturday within an hour working to fix a poorly done previous patch job. Bob knows flat roofs and within short order found two obvious leak zones that had not been repaired by the last guy. The poor quality patch has turned out to be the major leak source now and we got thru two big rains OK.
Be aware he is not cheap, no free looks and charges a flat fee with increases for odd stuff (in my case the bad previous patch). But getting someone to just show up on very short notice, who is a real roofer before the next rain and not try to sell me a new roof was worth it. I learned a lot while working with him trying to find the leaks.

I have 5 flat roofs, and Bob has managed to find any leak under the most difficult conditions on all my roofs. Bob is dedicated and conscientious. He's made my life a lot easier and has never tried to sell me anything I didn't need. He is intelligent and perceptive, and given hat the roofer that installed the roofs was unable to fix his own work, Bob has been a monumental asset to my infrastructure problems. He explains everything he's done, everything I need, and lets me know what I don't need or what not to do as a quick fix. My tenants rely on his expertise given the technical issues and particular conditions that are constantly causing problems on my flat roofs. I have been working with Bob for 15 years. Many service providers are irresponsible and unreliable,but Bob is a gem, and I highly recommend him.

Bob met me at the apartment the next day, gave me a quote significantly below the others and started work within hours. THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. This guy charged me $475 for 30 minutes of work to tape my vents and he didn't even do it all around the vents, just did patch work, then put silver spray paint on my roof and after 2 other experts said it's not done right, when I called to get him to come back out he refused, then thought I was threatening him. I will never call him again and suggest you don't either.
