2) We use upgraded materials (for instance, we choose synthetic underlayment over 15-pound felt, actual starter shingles rather than 3-tab shingles placed upside down, storm collars around plumbing stacks for longevity, and rigid baffled ridge vents instead of mesh vents that may let in water and pests).
