Stay away from Discount Roof USA out of Lakeway. They will take your deposit and then cease all communications. Been dealing with these conmen since January 17. Nothing but excuses and lies and blaming everyone else. Even switched to a different style of shingle since it was more ""common"" and more readily available, so they said. Still no action. Contacted another local roofing company and had a new roof in one week. With the same shingle coming from the same San Antonio supplier Discount Roof uses. And probably did a better job. Don't deal with these crooks. Evidently ""Veteran Owned"" doesn't mean as much to these liars. According to the contract I'm supposed to get half my ""deposit"" back if I cancel the contract, which I did. Still no payment and it's been over a month. I'm doubting they even have a legitimate business. In my opinion, Brian Widmayer and Jay Fishback are nothing but thieves.

Gave a deposit 3 months ago to replace the roof and they keep saying it's a supply issue, so they can't give me a start date. Do not work with them!!!

PS, Discount Roof USA you need to give me my money back!!

I am 10 months into trying to get paid for services provided to Discount Roof. I was contacted by the owner, Brian Widmyer, (who I have known since 2015) to have my crew remove and re-install a solar system for one of their roofing jobs.

This was the most arduous job we have done due to poor installation the first time around but nonetheless, we took it on as a favor to Brian. We even went as far as to replace the inverter and re-install new racking on the system. When these extra needs were discovered they were presented to Discount Roof and approved directly by Brian.

Since the completion of this project, I have been passed off to different employees who take turns ignoring phone calls and emails. After Brian stopped answering messages and their sales rep had quit working for Discount Roof. I was passed along to Carlos Luquis who proceeded to ignore my responses only after I assisted him to collect the insurance check from the customer which they didn't even know was waiting for them. After that, I was lied to about problems with the insurance company. Then passed along to Calvin Cobb who is supposed to be in charge of accounting but spent his time insulting me over email and (I am not exaggerating) name-calling as though he is a child. In my 15 years managing businesses I have never met an adult who behaves like this in a professional setting.

Before some rebuttal is given by DR: I have been in the solar industry since 2012 and take tons of pride in providing great service to all my customers. All services have been completed long ago by my team. I am in direct communication with the customer and he has literally left us 5-star reviews. I personally walked the customer through all the steps of using his new system and his insurance company has dispursed all funds to the homeowner and DR. This project was completed at cost and DR has an itemized list of every expense. My company has received a total of $0.

Coming from generations of Veterans, I had sent dozens of jobs to DR with trust but it has become clear that respect for the Veteran community doesn't mean the same for everyone.

I share this experience as a warning for anyone who is entrusting this company. If Brian Widmyer and Carlos Luquis are willing to do this to someone they have known for years and has sent him plenty of solid roofing jobs. What are they willing to do to potential customers?

I will be revising this if there is any attempt to remedy this problem.

We worked with Carlos on a home improvement and it has been a disaster. We were bidded $79,300 for 2 small decks, 2 bathroom remodel and a kitchen remodel. The scope of work had everything right, however the contract didn't match it. The contract was incredibly vague as far as how much was bidded for each item. The contract didn't stipulate that they only ended up quoting us for 1 deck and majority of the items bidded were only a fraction of the true cost and we stuck to the low cost for everything to stay in budget. They didn't order the cabinets until almost 2 months later than they were supposed to despite us asking for them. We caught that they missed the entire countertop bid after the original bid was signed. Instead of signing an addendum, Carlos kept saying 'we'll make it good,' instead of addressing the problem. We addressed it 3 times and nothing. We are now right at $100k, $21k over budget and used literally everything we pulled to do this project and nothing extra we had planned to use the extra money for. Its been a month and a half since hearing from Carlos and the project still isn't done. We ended up working with a different contractor to finish since Carlos bailed. They still owe us a few thousand for items we had to purchase that were covered in the bid but thanks to their neglect of the project, we had to go buy it instead of the project manager or another employee handling involved with the project as they were paid to do. Carlos was really nice in the beginning and talked a great game for the development of this project. The execution however was absolutely awful.

Discount Roof did a great job at my house with repairing my roof where a tree had rubbed off some shingles to trimming my trees around my house. They showed up on time and worked hard until the job was completed. I would highly recommend them.

We some wind damage from the storms over the last few months. Quote on repairs came in very competitive so we selected them for repairs. Crew showed up and completed repairs efficiently and effectively. After work was done, the owner himself walked me through videos and pictures of work done, future work needed, and options for future improvements that I brought up. Super friendly, and very helpful. Even threw in a complete attic inspection w/ video. Those guys crushed it. Would highly recommend them and we are going to be using them here in the near future.

This is a veteran-owned business! I greatly appreciate that because my husband is in the Army. Brian and Carlos and Will are all honest and genuine guys. They can handle all of your needs - roof, siding, gutters, tree trimming, etc. We had no idea how much damage trees can cause a roof! I completely trusted these guys to do a great job for a fair price. They are men of integrity. I highly recommend them.
