A representative of DiNello approached my husband May of 2016 and offered to replace our roof for the cost of our deductible. He said DiNello would file the claim with my insurance company. We have a 18 year old roof and had been through some pretty nasty hail storms, but there wasn't any leakage inside the house, so we had not been actively seeking a roofing contractor. When my husband told me about the deal, I was suspicious. He explained that the representative had mentioned the DiNello had been in business for 20+ years. He signed an agreement with DiNello. After doing some modest research, I discovered that the BBB listing of the company was about 2 years old. There was also the logo of North Texas Roofing Contractors Associat5ion Accredited. I could not find DiNello on that listing when I pulled it up.

Against my better judgment, my husband continued the deal and we were told the roofers would be out June 9, 2016. After waiting all day, we finally called and were told they would be coming out later that afternoon. The job was scheduled to take 1 to 2 days. We were assured the crew belonged to the company and the job was kept in-house, not subcontracted out. A group of Hispanic, non-English speaking workers showed up and began the work. They worked late into the evening. The showed up the next day and finished putting on the roof. Another contractor installed our gutters. My husband and told one of the workers (best he could) that there was a refrigerator with water in the garage. Later that afternoon, he went to check on them and saw beer bottles. They finished what they had to do and left. During the course of trucks bringing in roofing supplies, the truck ripped up our asphalt driveway. After commenting that the driveway had been installed poorly, the owner agreed to have it fixed. It was August when we were contacted by someone who scheduled a day/time to do it, and didn't show up. He called and said he would have to reschedule. He finally called the week of September 20th and I said no, we are going out of town. DiNello is waiting for our deductible, $5,600 for a job that has not been completed to our satisfaction. Bob DiNello, the owner, was suppose to schedule ""his"" crew to come back out and clean the work area with a magnet for nails run over the yard. It has never happened. After 3+ months, I don't have any confidence that making sure that we are taken care of properly is a priority for this business owner.

My review is not only that this company seemed shifty with a brochure that was not entirely accurate and a job that was not entirely finished in a smooth, professional manner. My biggest concern is that we have a new roof with a 10-year workmanship guarantee. Based on my experience with this company, I don't have a good impression that they will gladly hold up this guarantee or if they will still be in business. It's up to you. This was our experience with DiNello Contracting.
