I feel I need to write this only to shed a little light on this place. They did a fantastic job on my roof well over a decade ago and it has held up beautifully in spite of our insane weather lately. It was also very well priced.

However, the main person I dealt with was Ernie and I am so sad to say that he passed away last year, after contracting pneumonia. I actually spoke with him in the hospital - and was shocked to hear he never left it.

Don has always been a talker. He will keep you on the phone for ages. I did question the decision to have him on the phones - I think he enjoyed talking to people. And he was already pretty old when I first dealt with them. Now he must be getting quite a bit older and this is a family business. I'm not sure whether his sons are taking over or what but this is just to explain what might be going on. Possibly Don is not remembering or managing the promises he makes, possibly he is not well himself.

This business MEANS WELL but they have suffered some hardships and perhaps the transition has not happened smoothly.

I wish them all well... And I really miss Ernie, who was absolutely THE BEST when it came to keeping a roof solid. Not sure who can replace them.

Had Devon Roofing out to do a roof inspection and do what was needed. All went very well. Now some years later, I find myself in the same position as Herb S, who posted the one star raring. I called Don Henderson 3 times to have the same thing done again, he said they would be buy in a week, that week went by, and I called him again, he said they would be by with-in a week. They never showed. They are now gone from my phone book, IF they do not want or need the money - someone else does.

I spoke with Don Henderson, who was as discouraging as he could be in spite of our being a customer 16 years ago. I don't understand why a company would have him answering phones and telling people they are not doing much work anymore and saying maybe his rep would be in touch with you next Monday if his rep was in the area and could maybe stop by to check your roof. Don, what is the deal with you? I called you last month and you said similar things, as if your company is dying and cannot be bothered with any new commitments. I can remove this if you take the time to explain why you are so non-commital. Be well, old friend. Herb S.

We had a leak a few years back and after dealing with a different company that wanted to charge us a fortune to even find out what was going on, my husband called Devon Roof Co. They came in, and said that all we probably needed was to clean the gutters. They did it for us for a fraction of what the other company was going to charge do just find out what the problem was and the leak stopped. That simple!

My back roof leaked again after a recent repair last year. My prior roofer refused to warranty his work. I called Don and he sent Ernie out. Ernie came out and went on my roof and looked at tiles at the part of the roof all the other roofers were saying I might be having issues with and said it looked fine. After I hired him, they showed me each step of what they did, finding out the prior roofer did a sloppy job repairing my roof before. No leaks so far. I would recommend Devon Roof Company again! Worth every penny.

I contacted Don to help me with a roof repair estimate, and was blown away by his willingness to help and educate. I have worked with phone salespeople as have many yelpers, and contacting this small family owned company really made me feel hopeful for the world of small business owners. They were extremely courteous and honest with their opinion. Reached out to them because we had a home in escrow and needed a quote on a repair. Ended up not having to use them because we were able to come to an agreement on a credit with the buyer. If I were ever to need a roof inspection done in the area again, I would definitely contact Don and Ernie. Thanks so much!!
