After much research and thought, my wife and I decided to use Dekalb Roofing for a new roof and gutter installation. We noticed that they have been in the community for over 25 yrs and had a good reputation. The 2 consultations we had with Stacey were great and the price was extremely reasonable but not so low that it made you question if corners were going to be cut. Jose and the roofing crew came on September 9 earlier and finished the same day! They did an excellent job of making sure our property was taken care of and left no debris! They even cleaned and straightened items on my my back patio area that they didn't have to. The next day Rey and his team came and installed the seamless gutters and covers and did a magnificent job. Both Jose and Rey took the time to QA the work performed and didn't leave until I was absolutely satisfied. My father-in-law who is a professional contractor confirmed Dekalb Roofing did an excellent job and said he would be using them in the future for his roofing needs. Thank you Dekalb Roofing!

DeKalb Roofing is our go-to business for our roof. They have repaired 4 leaks (service within 24 hours, once even in the rain) and installed gutters (replacing damaged fascia and painting before installing). The owners are remarkably responsive and they have a team of courteous and professional employees that complete excellent work and clean up. Highly recommended!

Jeff came out for the estimate. He was very thorough, took notes and pictures of our particular requests (e.g., remove old gutters before new roof application, extended drip edge to thwart rodent entry, etc.). DeKalb Roofing's pricing was lower than the big advertising roofers but not the lowest we received. Price was a factor as this was a large purchase however we were also concerned about the quality of the job. So the level of detail paid during the quoting process helped drive the decision.

Jose was the foreman for the roofing work. He reviewed the scope of the job before they started and he had the same list of our specific requests provided to Jeff so there was no having to re-hash everything with him nor his being surprised. He and his team did an excellent job and were very thorough.

Julio then took charge for the gutters and gutter covers. The same crew so they knew the nuances of the roof edge already. Same level of detail for the gutters, covers and downspouts. We have a lot of large poplars so our roof gets covered with their pollen flowers and seeds in the fall. There were no gaps in the covers for those pesky seeds to get between. Also went with the Leaf Solution Xtreme Gutter Guard system after having tried various types, all of which clog with the poplars.

Both jobs had very good attention to detail which would be very easy to skip or hide on such a large job, i.e., replacing questionable fascia which will be covered by gutters, making sure there were no gaps between fascia and roof edge (as we had requested), plenty of caulk and mastic to ensure long-term, weather-proof seals, etc. Both Jose and Julio have been with DeKalb Roofing for 20+ years, so it's a stable company that can keep employees. They definitely know their stuff and clearly wanted to do a good job. The crew cleaned up entire area after the job and left it in some areas better than when they arrived.

This is my third roofing job in 20 years between two houses and this by far was the best experience. For that reason, and because I had a hard time selecting which roofers for quotes just to start the process and was on sites like this looking, I highly recommend DeKalb Roofing.

Called Monday 10/21/2019 for them to come out and give a quote on a roof leak, they said they would be out the next day and no one needed to be home. The next day (yesterday Tuesday 10/22/2019) is going by with no update so I call to find out when they will go by... the woman says between 10am and 2pm ( it's after 1pm when I called) and they will both call and email me the update and leave a ""we were here"" notice on the door. STILL no update and that was yesterday so I call today just now at 3:15pm on Wednesday and the guy who answers the phone, Chet or Chep says no one got back with me because I didn't give him an email address when I talked to him and the file was on his desk he was ""just about"" to call me... But the lady I talked to yesterday got my email address sir and said I would be given a response yesterday by PHONE as well as email so why did I have to be the one to call again to get an answer? He tries to cut me off with excuses and then says anyway the company can't bid on the job because they only do work on two story structures...

I pointed out to him the house IS a two-story house and he just kind of lamely repeats his lie. I seriously doubt they even went to the house at all and it seems like they are practicing some serious discrimination in which addresses they bother with and which they give the run-around and the disappearing act. I'll be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau because the 2 whole business days of my time they wasted I could have gotten a better company to already be out there providing a quote. Disgusting behaviour.

Dekalb Roofing gave us excellent service from the time we requested an estimate until the new roof was completed. Our roof had storm damage and we ended up getting their estimate before the insurance inspection due to the backlog of needed inspections due to storms. The insurance inspector recommended some upgrades for functionality and longevity. Turns out Dekalb Roofing had already included them in the estimate. The job was started and finished on time. The quality of the crew impressed us by arriving on time every day, letting us know when they were leaving and not leaving any debris or impacting the landscaping (even from removing the old roof). They made sure we were satisfied before leaving each day. The repairs they made to rotted woodwork were very well done. Highly recommend this professional and well run company.

Had Jeff out to see my roof. We recently had the house painted and the painters fixed some rotted wood but didn't caulk an area where the trim meets the roof at an addition point. This was allowing some rain to drip into our living room at the addition seam. Instead of suggesting some costly repair, jeff suggested I simply caulk it because everything looked okay otherwise. I really appreciated his time.

DeKalb Roofing is excellent. I made the mistake years ago of not using them to replace my roof. Nonetheless, they were willing to fix it when I needed help. I finally needed a new roof. They came when they were scheduled to come. They did the work professionally and efficiently. And I know they will be there if I need them. And Jeff is the best!
