Dale DeHart founded DeHart Roofing in 1975. In 2004, Dale's nephew, Larry, acquired the company and transformed it into the DeHart Roofing you see today. Our focus is on residential roof replacement and repairs, we prioritize customer satisfaction and benefit from recommendations from our clients. Peter C.I called to see about getting an est. for gutter work and the man who answered the phone said, and I quote: 'YOU MUST BE FROM NEW YORK"".I asked him why I was from New York? He said ""Wait a minute"", I don't know. Then said to just 'use somebody else!' Still don't get it .I'm from Modesto California?
I would avoid using this company. I requested an estimate, which took a while to get. Got the estimate and decided to use them. I was told they were scheduling about 4 weeks out, which was ok. 2 weeks later I get a call from the ""Owner"" who said he had bad news. Turns out whatever employee did the estimate did not take into account that the home was an hour and a half from their office. The owner felt that was too far for the crew to travel, stating, ""I don't want to pay them to drive 3 hrs a day to do the job."" So now I have no roofer. I think I dodged a bullet. It looks to me like the employees and owner are not on the same page which is not a good way to run a business.
I recently hired Larry and his crew to replace my roof and I'm extremely happy. Great communication and great work! I was having a difficult time picking a color and Larry recommended a color that I agreed to and I'm so glad I did. It looks amazing! Thank you Larry!

The project was quite big and it was handled very professionally.
They showed up with 7 employees to do the tear down and completed it it in the first day.
It was extremely hot during this time but the employees ( keep their cool and continued there work).
We have never had this kind work done before but this was done very professionally.
They cleaned up every evening and Otis personally came out the last day day to make sure it was done to satisfaction.
If you plan to do a new roof I would highly recommend De Hart Roofing.

All though I have a new roof it still hasn't been inspected. Three weeks of waiting for inspection, have two spots to ask about. I feel like I have been put on back burner after paying in full! So if you aren't in a hurry you can call for a estimate.

I called for an estimate for a new complete roof. The owner asked me what I needed. As if I know how to respond. I told him what type of material I was thinking of. The owner proceeded to tell me about some options to what I wanted and proceeded to tell me that his business was voted #1 by a company and I should take a look at the website. Finally, he told me he didn't need to come out to the house and take measurements because he was going to use gps Google and make an estimate from that. Im not a roofer but wouldnt it be useful to see the actual condition of the roof for possible dry rot etc. He said he would have that estimate by the next day. Three days later and no estimate, I'm still sitting here.
As a business if you tell a potential customer your going to do something, then do it. Obviously, this proves that your company is unreliable and shows me of what may have been if we actually hired you. Fortunately for us, we have opted for a more responsible company. Thanks for nothing.
We had a roof leak and needed the roof repaired ASAP. DeHart Roofing not only came out quickly to do the repairs, but was hundreds of dollars cheaper than another roof company that gave us a bid! They were professional and honest (showed us pictures of before and after)! They even dealt with my husband talking their ear off! I will definitely be calling them again for any roofing needs!
I agree with the other reviews. Our experience with DeHart roofing was not professional or ethical. He did respond to our call on a leaky roof during a storm. We did appreciate that. He took a quick look at the leak and gave us an off the cuff estimate as to what it would cost to make sure it didn't leak any further. When the roofer from DeHart came out to make the repairs a few days later, he just spent a couple hours worth of time. It was clear Larry's ""estimate"" was VERY conservative as to what it would actually cost him to do the work. Instead of just charging us what it took to get the job done, he charged us what he quoted and would not budge on the price. A quote is just that, a quote. If it costs more, customer pays more. If it costs less, the customer pays less. Right?? Not with DeHart Roofing. I'm sorry to say we will not do business with this company again and will not recommend this company to others either.
Ron K.Zero stars! From the very first call, I was shocked at how rude the receptionist was on the phone. After a week of waiting for a call back. They finally called to make an appointment to come out and look at my roof. They never showed up and didn't even call to say they would not be coming by. I called 2 days later to find out what was going on. Later that day Larry called me and verbally quoted me and didn't even include everything I had asked for. The whole experience was extremely frustrating!
