After failing to find a roofer to fix a leak, I saw some reviews for Deats on the Nextdoor app and I gave them a call. They were pleasant, responsive and timely in assessing the problem (showed me a video of what they believed to be the issue). About 2 weeks later, before predicted rain, they came and fixed it for a reasonable price. The fix had a great test during our recent Armageddon! No sign of leakage, so I've concluded that I've found that rarity called an honest roofer. I highly recommend this business.

Despite knowing that I was going to repair the roof vent leak myself, Frank still spent the time to advise me on the issue, and what and where to buy to the sealant. And please note that is during the time when we had the big storm in the Bay Area. This act of kindness will not be forgotten. I will definitely recommend and go to Frank for roof services in the future.

This is a long overdue review, but greatly deserved. We had our house re-roofed by Frank Deats and his team during the end of May. Prior to hiring him we had gone through several bids and chose Frank because of his responsiveness and fair price. During the whole process, he was very good about letting us know what to expect. He even tarped off areas in the garage to protect our shelves from debris. Frank and his crew were super hardworking through the whole process and finished our roof in 2.5 days. Each day he would tell us what to expect and would kindly answer any questions. Once the roof was finished Frank and his crew left the area very clean. Our neighbors commented on how nice the roof came out. We're happy we chose Frank and if we had to replace or repair another roof, we'd gladly hire his services again.

This is a special review because it is my very first public review on Yelp. It was important for me to write a review in this case because I received such spectacular service from Frank Deats and his team at Deats roofing. Let me be more specific about my experience:

1) When I began researching a new roof I knew nothing at all about roofs, options, materials, etc. I talked and received bids from six other companies. Deats was referred to me by a neighbor that had a very positive experience. As I was researching roofers, Frank stood out in terms of response time and education. He spent a lot of time with me explaining everything from the materials, process and was candid about what options I needed and what I didn't. Frank is a great educator that always put things in laymen's terms for me without making me feel awkward for asking the question.

2)His team was SO hardworking, helpful and courteous. Frank would always visit the site to review their work and bring them lunch.

3) Deats is a family-owned business. As a consumer, It's important for me to support these businesses in order to maintain competition in the marketplace. I also believe there is greater oversight by the owners at these businesses resulting in higher quality of product.

4) speaking of quality of product, we LOVE our new roof. It's made a huge difference in the appearance of our house, we've already received numerous comments from neighbors about how nice it looks and our insurance rates were lowered.

In summary, our experience with Deats Roofing was first rate. They are reasonable, easy to work with and provided us with a high quality product. I highly recommend them.

Wow. What a great roofing company. My Dad home in Los Altos needed a new roof badly. I assisted him on finding a roofing contractor. After getting many qoutes from shady contractors were getting frustrated. Prices all over the map. We were lucky to find Deats roofing. The whole process was professional all the way through. The whole job was completed in 4 days. 3400 square foot house I might add. Big thumbs up to Deats Roofing!!

I had a bad roof leak that I found out during the middle of a down pour one weekend. Frank found some time the following day and looked into it and found the cause and had a solution. His quote was very competitive and his team was able to do the repairs and took care some small roof issues. They were very professional.

It's been 5 months and we've had 4 big rain storms and there has been no leaks or any other issues. I highly recommend this company for your roofing needs.

Background: when we moved into our Almaden Valley home in late 2003, it had a shake roof, which served us well until a couple years ago when a couple of leaks developed. It got to the point that we were chasing leaks, so we bit the proverbial bullet, and got five estimates from local roofing contractors.

We ended up going with Deats Roofing, mainly due to the professionalism and responsiveness on the part of the owner, Frank Deats Jr. Their price was also very competitive, which helped to seal the deal for us.

Now that the roof is done, I can confidently state that we were glad that we worked with Deats Roofing. The owner, Frank, oversaw the five-day project on a daily basis, and instantly responded to questions and issues. His crew was great, and very hard-working. Dustin, the foreman of the project, was outstanding. Frank is lucky to have him as part of his crew.

We ended up going with CertainTeed Presidential Shake Solaris composite shingles in Country Gray, and Radiant Barrier OSB Plywood Sheathing. A number of O'Hagin attic vents were installed. A wired attic fan was installed in the main attic, and a solar-powered one was installed in the garage.

In summary, our much-needed new roof turned out better than expectation.
