I had a handyman who is supposedly a ""roofer"" tell me that my 10-year old roof was very close to its end of life and needed to be replaced soon, primarily due to hail damage. On the recommendation of a friend who had previously had Dayton Contracting do some work for him, I called and asked Shane to come give me an assessment and second opinion. He came out, did an inspection, and said the roof has plenty of life left but recommended some relatively minor repairs to eliminate the possibility of leaking. He showed me the pictures he took, and his recommendations made sense. He provided a bid shortly thereafter and the pricing seemed fair. His crew came out and did the work. I watched from the ground and was very impressed with how conscientious every worked seemed to be. From what I can tell, they did a great job. They cleaned up afterward and were on their way. I will be calling Shane in a few years to have another look at the roof, and when the time comes, will plan to have them do the replacement.

I had Dayton Contracting replace my entire chimney which was totally rotten and do some work on my roof in an area that had a bad leak. This type of repair was all new to me. Shane laid out everything so that I knew exactly what was going on. We discussed options too.
Everyone is very professional and they did a great job based on before and after pictures and a visual look.

After another roofer kicked the can down the road for more than a month, I messaged three roofers at around midnight on Sunday night of MLK Day with an urgent job that needed to be completed by Thursday night. I woke up the next morning to an email from Shane saying to call him when I was up. He came to look at the roof at 11, had the bid to me by 1, and by 5 pm on Tuesday the job was done. It all looks great, and he pointed out a couple other issues that I want to get checked out, too.

Dayton Contracting was great to work with. Roof was replaced and a number of repairs were made to the chimney area. Very satisfied with the quality of the product and the work done on the roof. Crew was timely, professional, and very easy to have around. Bad drainage and design around the chimney led to some leaking that was getting worse. The repairs, flashing, and modifications have solved the problems we had. The whole process was extremely well managed. We expect to have Dayton back for another smaller home roof project.
