Exemplary service !! The crew has outstanding teamwork, is very neat, is very courteous, and is very knowledgeable and skilled in the trade!! There is always a foreman everyday on the job with his team. The crew works diligently and even when working on the roof able to answer questions on areas of concern with no hesitation. They were able to help us take off our water solar, accommodate our request to reroute the piping for the solar, do carpentry on the area. Not just roofing but other services at very reasonable prices!! Appreciated their knowledgeable tips and recommendations!

The roof of our home was old since it still had its original shingles from when it was built. It had never been re-roofed. Over the past couple of years after several heavy rain, the roof began to leak. We contacted David's after seeing how efficient they were with our neighbors. After inspection, they set a date and promptly came. They told us it would take about a day and a half to finish, which was totally acceptable. They came around 8 am, and they were finished with everything by 5 pm! I've witnessed other companies who's workers just sit around a lot and just talk, but David's workers are hard workers and very efficient! They get the job done.

P.s. my 6 year old son absolutely loved watching the big conveyor belt truck pull in and take all the materials up to the roof!

I am remiss for not posting this review two years ago when Davids custom roofing was breaking their backs to find the mystery leaks in my roof and rain gutters. They never left me alone. They were always responsive every time there was a new wrinkle or suspected culprit. They sent in other specialists to give opinions. David himself even came out and caulked a second story window for me! Remarkable and completely impressive. The entire process was lengthy and somewhat expensive but I know Davids custom roofing is a top notch, honest and fair business that really stands behind their work. I am happy to recommend them.

I called David's Custom Roofing initially to get an estimate. I had been impressed with their TV ads and my husband had done business with them in the past. After four days, someone came to my house and looked around. He said he would have to get a longer ladder to get to the roof (my house is taller than most). That was the last I heard of him.
After two weeks of waiting for him to return, I called the company and was told that the estimator had to talk to David, but he would get back to me within two days. I never heard from him again, and hope I don't.
Their motto is ""Once a customer, always a friend."" I guess they didn't want to be my friend, which is ok, but it would have been at least polite to call and say they didn't want, or couldn't handle the job.

responsiveness is to be admired. Each of the individuals I have
worked with over the past few years, involving roofing, painting and gutter work (through Akamai Gutters), has been nothing less than rewarding. Special thanks to Raymond and Mark for their diligence

We had solar panels installed in 2014. Kumu Kit installers/roofers stated that the thicker non matching roof tiles would be satisfactory replacements. They also stated that all the tiles that were caulked together, broken or damaged around and under the solar panels had been replaced. They were the last people on the roof until 2017.
In 2017, leaks in the ceiling were found under the area of the solar panels. We tried David's since we have lost all trust in Kumu Kit to perform work ethically. We were shocked when David's estimator told us that about 70 plus tiles needed to be replaced.
Last week David's Roofing repaired the butcher job that was under the solar panels. They had to install additional flashing. They replaced 50 roof tiles that were cracked/broken/held together with caulking/too thick with the proper matching roof tiles. In addition, another 20 tiles were replaced that were broken/cracked at other locations on the roof.
Employees were fast, efficient, polite and respectful. But, most important to us is that they could left alone and be trusted to do the right thing. We will use them again.

We finally decided to put in solar so it made sense to have our roof done too, since the roof was looking pretty bad. We called David's and scheduled an estimate.

Raymond came out and he was terrific! First, he said, you know, your roof is still in okay condition and should last maybe 5 more years. What? He wasn't trying to talk me into a new roof? I explained that we wanted to install solar so we figured we'd put a new roof on now rather than waiting 5 years and then having to uninstall and reinstall all the solar panels. He agreed. So he went on to explain what they did and the materials they offered. He was really knowledgeable. One funny thing, he pointed at my neighbor's roof and said, ""See that? We don't do that. We use bigger and stronger material."" That made me chuckle...did I just say chuckle?

I asked him about those metal roofs that look so cool and other ""sexy"" roofing options rather than boring old composite shingle. He pointed to another neighbor's roof, who had that sleek metal roof. He said, ""See that?"" And he proceeded to tell me the disadvantages of those roofs and why composite is not only more economical, it is easier to maintain. He said, it just wasn't a good material for my roof since it has gables and peaks and valleys. So now he's talking me into a better-priced option? What is going on here? Could I actually be talking to an honest salesman? Turns out I was.

So we went with the thicker shingles with the white, reflective surface. I also ordered new gutters.

And so the adventure began. They had to coordinate with Haleakala Solar to remove our existing solar water heater and then later, put it back together. They installed the roof in about 3 days, ripping it down to the bare wood, replacing some rotted sections and putting it all back together. The gutters then went up and it was all done. A shiny new roof, ready for the solar PV panels. It was all quite painless. The different crews were all very professional, friendly and courteous. They were really careful to pick up any nails they might have dropped in the yard. And after all was said and done, the bill was smaller than I was expecting. Good thing Raymond talked me out of the more expensive metal roof.

And throughout the project and after it was done, both David and Davelyn kept in touch with me, checking in to make sure I was happy. And we are.

We had to do some roof repairs. From the estimate to the actual finished job, everyone was respectful and helpful. The job was done well and fast! The cost was fair too. We would definitely use them for any roof work again (hopefully we wouldn't need any )
