Unfortunately this was company that from very good to very bad in a few short years. I'm a general contractor who had used Dan for many years. In June of 2018 he installed a metal roof for me and after continually stating that they were experienced with this kind of work to only find that they had no clue of what they were doing.
After having paid for the materials, having it torn off, paying for the materials again, removing the siding for removal and replacement of correct flashing, replacing the siding, paying another Roofing Co. to install it correctly, paying a painter to re-paint the new siding the out of pocket expense was $11,000.00!

After speaking to Dan's wife Louise she agreed that it had been a bad job. I told her I would except $5,700.00 to keep it out of Court, and agreed to she would pay in increments of $500.00 per month. This was back in November.
In January I reached out to her and she stated that she was setting up the payments through her bank.

Reached out to her again. Never heard another thing!

I have turned it over to my attorney, called the Contractors State Licensing Board, Notified his bonding Company.

For those wishing to find someone who holds themselves to a high standard for their work and are respectable business owners who stand by their previous work, do not go with Dan Elliot's Roofing Company.

We recently purchased a house and we learned that Dan Elliot's Roofing Company made repairs beforehand. The repairs were along the chimney join to the roof. Well, along came the wind and the rains and lo and behold we observed a leak. Per the disclosures, the roof work was warrantied up to a year. We reached out to Dan to see if he would honor the warranty even though the house had transferred owners and (not to any major surprise) found out that the warranty would not be honored. Regardless, we attempted to schedule an appointment with Dan to have him give us an estimate to see what the costs would be. Dan agreed to meet us but never showed up and could not be reached before and after the appointment. You know when someone doesn't want to pick up their phone when each time you call, it goes direct to their voicemail.

They installed my roof when we bought our house. The winter after the installation, we noticed water leaking into one of the bedrooms. I called Dan to take a look. He sent someone to take a look. They claimed the cause was a crack in the chimney cement. They put some epoxy on it. The next time it rained there was another a leak. Dan's technician came over again. This time I convinced him to go into the attic to take a look. Once he did, he realized that when they installed the roof, they didn't install a new counter flashing even though it was needed. At this point it had rained a few times and lots of water had leaked into the house. I called Dan and I told him the problem and asked him to fix it. He said he would do it for $250 giving me a discount. I told him that this issue should have been addressed when he installed the roof and a new roof should not be leaking. He first implied that there is no leak and I am imagining it. Then he said that when he gave me an estimate he did not realize that he has to replace the counter flashing around the chimney. He then argued that means he has to charge me for it. This entire time he does not admit that it was his mistake that he overlooked the need to replace the counter flashing. He did not take responsibility for the leaks that do damage to the house. Why should a brand new roof be leaking? The 10 year warranty that he offers is a joke.

After he insisted that I should pay for the fix. I told him that I will hire someone else to fix it as I didn't trust him any more. He later called me back and said he would fix it for free. I said I didn't feel comfortable given his initial work was low quality but he insisted and came to fix it. This was a turning point and I thought everything is ok. The next winter there an even worse leak in that bedroom. I called my go to contractor. He said that Dan had not replaced the counter flashing even though he should have. After my contractor fixed it there was no more leaks even though there were heavier rains that year and the years after.

Bottom line, Dan Elliott's roofing installed a leaky roof. They did not admit it was a problem with their installation. After they did, they wanted to charge me to fix it and did not honor their warranty at first. After they were finally convinced that they should fix it, they made it worse!! I do not recommend that anyone should use them.

It pains me to give a poor rating. Dan and his team did great roof work on a previous home so we came back to him for some additional work.

Unfortunately, he has strung me along for several weeks on this latest request. Missed appointments. Promises to get me quotes that never get delivered. Every interaction leads to broken promises.

I'm tired of waiting for him to get back to me as promised. He clearly does not want my business nor my money.

Terrible experience trying to get a bid from this company. Waited two weeks to have a representative show up. Then they did not even call to let me know he was coming. Then had a frustrating time trying to get the bid out of the owner. Never actually got the bid, but wasted two weeks trying before giving up on them in disgust. Owner rambled on about his political opinions when I called him trying to get the bid finished. Total frustration so just be aware if you get this response from them, move on and don't let them waste your time like I did. I ended up hiring Kent Roofing and am now happy with my newly installed roof.

I needed a roof inspection and then some repairs following that inspection. The work needed to be done quickly. Dan and his team were extremely prompt, professional and just easy to work with. I will definitely call them when it's time to put on a new roof!

Dan and his entire team were extremely easy to work with, professional, clean and quick.
Our old shake roof was overdue for replacement. After an initial free estimate, Dan gave us multiple options and did a great job explaining the differences. We then selected the roof that was right for us and Dan gave us a timeline, factoring in weather conditions and making sure he would get the job done without any issues.

The entire work process was smooth, quick and with constant updates from Dan, so we always knew what would be happening next. There were absolutely no surprises.

In the end, the roof and gutters looked fantastic and have been doing a great job for over a year now. There was no need to fix anything, but I'm confident that Dan would be there for me, should I need anything else.

Terrific job planning, consulting and workmanship - couldn't have asked for anything better and highly recommended.

I was looking for someone to take a look at my roof to determine if I needed a new one or if it could be repaired. Being a social media person, I did quite a bit of research and leveraged several sites that I am a frequent. Dan was one company recommended along with several others.

I obtained 3 quotes and chose Dan for the following reasons:
It was easy to make an appointment when I called his office.
When Steve came out, he was on time (early actually) and very thorough
It was determined that my roof was in good shape and a repair was all that was required
When they came for the repair, they showed up on the day they said they would and did a nice job on the repair

I felt Dan and his team were honest and cared about their customers. I will definitely use Dan and his team again in the future.

Had a roof put on a home that we are selling. They were the lowest and were able to do it the following week. I was leary, but.............. they did a great job. Had them install gutters also and that was great also. Would highly recommend this company.
