Recommended Customer Reviews

My renters reported a water problem, which turned out to be on the porch not inside the house, all it needed was to have the gutters cleaned out. Allen looked at my roof to figure out the ""leak"". Wanted to charge me $350 to fix a non-existent problem on a roof installed less than 18 months ago... never even looked in the attic. Beware of this shady ""businessman""... lying to your customers will not get you very far in this town or this economy. Plenty of other trustworthy roofers out there, DO NOT use this company!

I just used this company today. They just did a really nice job on both a repair and engineering a ""fix"" to an issue I was having. Congenial, on time and a very reasonable price. What else can you ask for? I recommend.

We met with Allen Arpen the owner of Custom Roofing on April 14, 2018 and signed a contract to have a roof replaced. When we talked through email he stated he should be able to start our job as early as April 18th, but would definitely be able to have the work done by April 27th, 2018 no problem. Allen required half up front of $2964.00 since the job was starting so soon to go ahead and get supplies. We attempted to call him on April 28th and only got voicemail, and so we emailed him on April 30th when the roof was not completed and his reply was there were delays, but we were the next house to be done. We emailed multiple times between May 1st and 15th, and he finally responded back to say yet again, delays and we are next on the list. This continued until June 22nd when we emailed him to inform him that since it was 62 days and no work had been started we wanted our money back. At this point we were suddenly number 28 on a waiting list and he was only doing us a favor by trying to get to us before his other customers. This supposed waiting list was never mentioned in the previous 62 days of waiting. Mr. Arpen is refusing to return our money and provided no services to us at all. We are currently out $2964 and he will not return calls or money. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING THIS COMPANY!!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM OR HIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!! If I could give him zero stars I would

This review is in regards to the service provided, so far the roof has not had any issues and i'm hoping that it stays ok.
We had purchased a home and the roof had been old and had been the ultimate reason why we needed to get a new roof put on before we could close on the house. We scheduled with our realtor for a April 7th. They ran behind a day and ensured that they would be there the next day to start (April 8th). The next day we stopped by to check and see what had been done, and there had been nothing done by around 6pm, only supplies left by them. None of the shingles had been pulled up or started.
Since we were closing that friday, we were hoping it would have been done in order for us to close without the bank saying no since the roof was not finished. In accordance to our insurance and loan type the roof had to be approved by all parties. We were able to skip around it but they didnt start on the scheduled day, and tried to get away with starting the following monday. We got them there on the 9th when they finally started. The next day we closed and started to move. I had family helping so when we were busy, members of my family had been at the house as they worked.
I found out that they were kind of disrespectful to my cousin due to his looks, they were also seen ducking behind our shed and urinating on the property in view of our neighbors. They were constantly smoking in our back yard, which my relatives were as well, but I'm not paying my relatives to take smoke breaks and they had permission.
One had lost a knife in my attic when on the last day (it took them about 5 days to complete) and let me know, and that they would be coming back for it. This is after April 14th they say they will be by to pick it up.
They never showed up, until today, June 10th, hitting my doorbell and then banging on the door. It took me less than a minute to get to the door so it wasnt like I didnt hear. They reaked of cigarettes. Sudden banging on the door tends to trigger my anxiety, which triggers my asthma. Though it could have been that, or the fact that they opened up my garage to get into the attic, and were smoking the entire time. My husband came home a couple hours later and the smell was still there. And both of us being non-smokers, having our things reek is not what I call exceptional service. Especially when my child and I have allergies and have been sick.
Lest the roof looks good and they are finally gone. It hasnt leaked, but professional and respectful? No.
