Custom Copper and Sheet Metal Roofing did a great job on our house and greatly enhanced the look of the house. However, their true value was proven during a once in 50 year storm last weekend. We had a small leak because of sustained 60 mph winds and rain. Some water was blown under an overhang and it got through. Within two hours on a Sunday, during the storm, they came out to fix it. Management followed up two days later to check on the work in person. After the last check is written and a contractor is still there for you is where you can see the true value....Custom Copper and Sheet Metal delivered!

I originally contacted Custom Copper because I'd talked to a variety of roofing supply dealers and contractors and everyone admitted that where other roofers failed (sometimes as many as three times) to make a water-tight roof, Custom Copper was the one everyone called to solve their problems. So, I figured the smart thing was to contact them FIRST. They're third-generation metal roofers who know their products inside out, are always courteous, and do their best to be helpful. They installed my roof in 2014. Not once have I had a leak, not even my skylights. When I go up there, I'm always impressed that the roof looks like a work of art. I really can't recommend these guys highly enough. They're great.

How does the saying go...""the proof of the pudding is in the tasting""....or something like that. It just rained buckets for 4 straight days in Northern California and our roof performed like a dream....(no leaking of course) and perfect drainage! We built a custom home about 4 years ago and Chris's crew installed a standing seam metal roof (napa/sonoma style). We have never had a single problem with the roof and it looks terrific. Chris is a total perfectionist......don't be fooled by his laid back style.....he is a total stickler for details when it comes to his product delivery. Chris is one of 4 or 5 trades who worked on my home that I would recommend without hesitation.....yes, he is that good. I am writing this today (4 years later) because I continue to appreciate the results of his craftsmanship.

We are thrilled with Custom Copper & Sheet Metal Roofing. It was an arduous enough task to find a company that could do a metal standing seam roof, but to find a company comprised of genuine metal roofing craftsmen was almost too good to be true! Chris Dumm and his team at CCSMR far exceeded and even surpassed our wildest expectations. Chris guided us through the planning, selection and execution process of our project, step-by-step. We could not have dreamed of having a more beautiful, distinct custom roof. We constantly get inquiries on ""who did our roof"" and we are always happy to recommend CCSMR. They truly provide high quality, artisanal sheet metal crafting...now if we only could think of other sheet metal work to be done on our house :)

CC&SR's owner Chris has a great no-nonsense, easy going demeanor. Very customer-focused and easy to work with. Meeting with him for my estimate, I knew right away that he was different from the others. Unhurried, patient, and none of that slick pro-salesman BS. He had a low-key but obviously-discernible pride and confidence in the skill and craftsmanship of his team. I also liked that CC&SR is a small company and that they specialize in metal roofing (""we eat sheet metal for breakfast!""). I also liked that he was recommended to me by the metal manufacturer. That's why I was delighted to find that CC&SR's estimate came in lower than the the other two I was able to get (most roofers in my area won't even do standing seam metal).

There were a few technical concerns with venting and skylights that cropped up near the tail-end of the installation, but Chris and his team worked with me to find good solutions. This is where Chris' customer-focus really showed. I am sure that other roofers would not have been as patient and understanding with my (excessive? anal?) ""detail orientation"".

Everyone warned that having my old (3 layers!) roof torn off would be really messy. Boy were they right! Chris' team did their best to protect our landscaping from the debris avalanche and did a great job of cleaning up. I do wish, however, that Chris would have warned me to cover the inside our attached garage with tarps to keep the dust/debris from covering everything in there. Cleaning up the garage and its contents was a big job and no fun at all. And so this is the main reason why CC&SR didn't quite earn a full 5 stars with me.

The whole process from signing the contract to start-of-work to job-complete took longer than with a larger company that has more and larger crews (our entire job was done with a 2-man crew) ... but the quality of the workmanship and attention to detail was fantastic. This metal roof should last a lifetime, so I don't mind that it took a bit longer to install if it means living with a better end-result.

We went with regal white, and the gleaming new roof and matching steel gutters look very clean and sharp! We're happy campers now, knowing that we've got a kick-ass worry-free, cool (literally -- it reflects heat), fire-proof roof over our heads that should easily last the rest of our lives.
