Have ya ever seen a house with new tile start to fade and look old fast? This is especially obvious on darker tile but happens with all colors. So, I asked the tile manufactures about it and learned this is caused by a naturally occurring process called efflorescence. Efflorescence is a white or gray salt deposit that can appear on concrete and other building materials. Although it's usually not a structural concern, efflorescence can lead to moisture problems and structural damage if left untreated. In the case of concrete roof tile, this can increase the rate of decay because your roof is constantly exposed to UV radiation and water damage during the rainy season which makes older tile easier to break. But there is a solution to this concern and that solution is Custom Coating Restorations Inc.

My old roof was an ugly, dated, moss covered, fractured mess so I replaced it with a dark charcoal Capistrano tile from Eagle Roofing. Immediately after installation I had Custom Coating Restorations Inc. come out to treat it. Their ""COOL ROOF COATING"" reflects 98% of the sun's UV light, retards moss and keeps your home significantly cooler. Best of all it makes the entire roof one uniform color forever, not ugly light patches from efflorescence or streaks from rain runoff...their sealant is visually stunning. Everyone laughed at me when they learned I was having this done. ""Why would you spend money on that? It's a roof tile, it's meant to take abuse."" Then my neighbors saw the work being done and were amazed at the difference it made. The crew doing the work told my neighbors that they offer a tile cleaning service to make their old tile look new and it can then be sealed to protect it and keep their home cooler. Most of the homes on my street have serious moss discoloration on the eastern facing side of their roof. I'm sure Custom Coating Restorations will be hearing from them before winter.

I watched these guys and saw how painfully meticulous they were. They didn't damage a single tile (careful with shoe selection and where they stepped) and I appreciate how they carefully protected my outdoor furniture and completely cleaned everything up before leaving, even power-washing our concrete patios and around my pool. The sealant lasts a decade or longer and wonderfully improves the overall look of your roof. Those who thought I was nuts to have this done (including my wife) are now admitting their ignorance and complimenting the outcome. This was a solid investment! Tim's work crew sets the customer satisfaction bar so high, you need a plane to see it. Bought a home with a decent roof but wanted a black roof. Got some quotes for a new roof but they couldnt give me a true black roof. So, I checked around and found this product that coats, protects and cools and they have it in black. I compared this company with another and went with them.

My Monier tile roof was 30+ years old and the northside was growing moss on it. I spoke with Tim, who said he could pressure wash off all that moss and then I could recoat the tile (as opposed to replace it all) and it would look like new. In September, 2021 the job was done. They came one day, masked off everything, pressure washed the whole roof. They carefully showed me the color I picked vs second choice and when I saw the actual tile, liked Terra Cotta. The second day they sprayed sealer and color in one operation. They cleaned up all the masking and it did look good as a new tile roof again. However a few months later my neighbor asked if I notice bleed over on two sections of my fascia from the roof tile color. I hadn't expected any problem, never noticed until he mentioned I should contact the company and have them fix it. I don't do well on the ladder anymore so I took a few pictures and sent them to Tim. He responded to my text, asked if my painters ever moved any tile. I said no, the painters came 2 years prior to him. But he never came out to inspect in person, never came out to clean off, or paint over the problem and it has been a couple of months now. I like the roof, and notice a few tiles were broken but the coating covered the breaks so I can live with that, but follow up to my complaint was nil, therefore I cannot give better than a 4 star rating. If they would have come and cleaned off/painted over the bleed over area (really a short, quick fix), they would have a 5. I now have to pay a painter to come and make everything perfect.

Have a steel tile and we decided to have it restored instead of replacing the entire roof. We decided that we'd like to change the color from a terra cotta red to a black. The pressure washing and cleaning alone made a huge difference and it's night and day with the color change. The crew is prompt to show up and tidy. We needed them to come back and fix a few overlooked things and they were back immediately to rectify the issue. Great hard working team, really good value.

They were true to their business name ""custom coating"". We had a very special color that we wanted, and Raul came through for us. Danny and Dion were very efficient and did a great job. We did have a glitch or two in communication between Tim and Raul, but not enough to make me want to mark them down. In the end, they worked to please their customer, and I appreciated that. I love my roof!

I am a little late posting this review, but it is totally worth sharing. Custom Coating Restorations made my home look amazing and my roof looks brand new. I have received so many compliments on how amazing it looks. I reached out to Tim and shared with him that I was not a fan of my orangeish color roof, and wanted to change the color. Boy did they! I was able to customize my color. We chose a specific brown shade, and it's not something you can find anywhere. The level of detail going into sharing what needed to be done was excellent. The crew arrived on time to start and spent so much time detail cleaning our roof. The residue from the roof was pressure washed away, and it was like it never happened on the concrete. The second day came where the color was applied, and it was a transformation. The crew was detailed getting into corners and crevices. Going outside to see the transformation made me speechless.
