They arrived, Rocky & Charlie, to quote on resurfacing my pool deck and patio. I waited about a week and had to call back to the office and ask for the quote. They sent one without any detail. Someone just put in a ridiculously high price. I would never use them.

My experience with Crank Waterproofing was truly a 5 Star experience! Rocky, Carrie, and Jose did a great job making me feel like an important customer. I have a semi-outside staircase leading to a small outdoor deck. The deck is directly over our master bedroom and a leak would be a big problem. When I shared a little concern they jumped right on it and addressed the problem to my complete satisfaction.

A very professional outfit who I would not hesitate to recommend.

We had a leak coming through the deck of our upstairs rental unit into a bedroom below. Rocky came out and gave us two bids..replacement or repair. The scope of water damage called for just a repair. The job was done thoroughly in a weeks time by Rafael and his brother. They were polite and attentive to details. The job came out great, and we are looking forward to years of a leak proof deck!

Update to my 2017 review - Pennington Construction (the contractor I chose to fix the issues that Crank left me with) did fantastic work, but I was worried after a really hot summer and cold winter whether there could be issues with the balconies, as there were each time with Crank Brothers. Happy to report - Pennington Construction came through! They did fantastic work that has held up through the seasons and still looks great!

Guy came out and proceeded to tell me he has no idea how to fix the problem. Hmmmm why you here then? He was going to have the ""expert"" come. He did start the foreplay of ripping me off (explaining ""all the work"" ""it's a huge job"" bs) but then was too lazy to even send a quote or get the expert to contact me. I was getting a quote on a rooftop deck grading issue in HB. Eventually used erik Pennington my God he delivered at a reasonable price

We were very lucky in finding Crank to seal our balcony deck. Rocky and crew were extremely patient and informative. They helped us with design. The work was done promptly and precise. The crew took the time to ensure all areas were protected and cleaned at end of work day.

I recently had a leek that turned out to be total deck remodel, Adam, with Crank Waterproofing, was recommended from my Painter, Chris Miller.

Adam and his team where such a pleasure to work with.
Not only were they professional, but they also picked up after themselves, never left me with a mess (other than the demo, which they did in record time) my house had been recently listed on the MLS and needed to be showable at a moments notice.
What a pleasant surprise to deal with professional GC's and the guys who do the work day in and out, every single one was courteous, professional and diligent!!

Adam didn't over-promise and under-deliver, instead, he was under budget and right on time. The rains continued for weeks of our construction and Adam would go and check on my home to make sure other areas had not leaked as a courtesy. Wonderful person.

Have a small deck that was last done 15 years ago by another company. The top surface had some minor to some small areas of moderate deterioration. Got estimates, other companies, only wanted to completely remove and replace with a much more expensive sealing system. Crank staff were able to repair the minor damage to the mid and top coated surfaces. The staff did EXCELLENT work on all details, putting Extreme Effort to make the deck right, gaining a whole new 2nd life for this deck. Staff members were very skilled, knowledgeable, and TOOK DEEP PRIDE in their workmanship. You don't see that much these days.

If your buildings are not top notch type properties, be prepared to be insulted by this guy named Rocky. One building I asked them to estimate, won an award from the Mayor of Downey, but it wasn't a job that they returned an estimate on. I felt like if it was something less than a full tear off job, that you were out of luck. Also the arrogance statements, as to how they are probably one of the higher priced outfits, but that came with claims that they are the best. His opinions differed from our Contractors who actually returned a bid. And he made it clear, that they really don't get into repair work. I had pre-read the yelp reviews prior to my meet at three properties, and inquired as to like warranties, but I kept getting how perfect they were, and avoided wanting to take on any type of repairs. A complete waste of my time professionally, even meeting with this outfit. I was even willing to try to talk the Clients into the full monty job, but he won't even give me the respect to return numbers, or even minimally a call. Oh and having to listen to how in demand they are. As things are booming, it might be true, but the gravy train usually never lasts, and there will be future days possibly, when they need new customers, but apparently not now!
