Over the past several years, I've called Crank Brothers Roofing for a few different commercial properties we needed roofing repairs on. Jonathan is very thorough when doing his inspections, and explains exactly what the issues he found are prior to providing a bid. They have always completed work quickly and the crews I have come in contact with have always been tidy and respectful while onsite.

I'd give them a zero if that was an option. My rooftop deck cracked in the recent weather. Jonathan, one of the owners, looked at it. He explained the process of completely sealing it vs. repair, and said he'd work up numbers for both. His office sent an outrageous quote of $9500 for what amounts to about 120 sq ft of deck. When I requested the quote for repairs only, the office person said ""we don't do small repairs."" I told her that Jonathan specifically stated he'd provide a price for this too. She then emailed that they had received more projects over the weekend and were now unable to take care of ANY of my needs. I am ASSURED that this is because I was hinting at a much less expensive job (repair vs replace). This was an extremely unprofessional and rude manner of treating potential customers, especially given that Jonathan and I discussed a remodel of our kitchen and other areas, and I told him I'd call him for that. I guess they're doing so well and are so busy that they don't need new customers with potentially large projects. I must add that for a 5700 sq ft house we had in LA was recently re-roofed (tear off, flat, and tile) for under $15,000. In contrast to this, $9500 for a very small rooftop deck is positively egregious. Stay away from this company unless you don't mind being treated with utter disrespect and disregard.

***Originally 1 star*** We recently had some issues with our roof (commercial building) so I had to get some estimates, I called a few companies and unfortunately, due to the rain most companies seemed to be busy and not able to provide any estimates. When i called Crank Brothers they were eager to send their specialists to check our roof. They came on January 4 and let me know they had to send two separate estimates because the damage might be too big and at that point it would be better to redo the whole thing, I agreed because with the current weather we couldn't afford losing any equipment to possible leaks. I never received an estimate, but I didn't get mad since i don't know how long these estimates take, so I decided to follow up via email, Jacki which was always very helpful mentioned that the storm set them back a bit and that she would send it first thing in the morning next day, almost a week later and i have not received anything. I understand we can be busy, but a follow up or an update would've been appreciated. I am currently looking for more options.
UPDATE: Jacki got back to me with the estimate, and since most companies were booked I agreed to the estimate proposal they offered. They booked the repair for the following week, their techs were here first thing in the morning and by noon they were done. I am very happy with the end results, I hope i don't need roofing services in the near future but if I do I will contact them again!

My appointment for an estimate was supposed to start between 9-10am. I get a phone call five minutes before 10 stating the estimator is ""running a little late and will be here shortly."" I asked how long exactly? I was told 20 minutes. At 10:30 I get another phone call telling me he's in Costa Mesa. (I'm in Garden Grove) ... thousands of dollars is way too much money to give a company that doesn't want to show up on time. Sorry- to me, my time is worth more than gold.

I need to replace the roof on my house. I called Crank Bros. today to schedule someone to come to give an estimate. I was told their first opening for an estimate was in 14 days. Not wanting to wait two weeks just to get the estimate, I did not schedule an appointment. I will be hiring someone to replace my roof but it won't be this company.

We had a terrible experience. They did a horrible job on a total re-roof and refused to take responsibility. They didn't answer their phone over the weekend when we had a emergency. They caused major damage to our house, the new roof leaked. They make promises and didn't keep them. They misrepresented the work that they would do, they said they would do certain things but after signing the contract they didn't do the work as represented and they never brought up the fact that they weren't going to. When I asked eddy at the end of the job, about the work which was suppose to be done, he and I went over my check list and he said all was done. It was later that I found out that they did not do the work we had discussed on my list at all, though he said it was done. None of it was done. It's was a nightmare. We thought we were hiring a real contractor, one that over see's the job. The whole roof was finished without the contractor watching out for quality or anything else. Be very wary. In my opinion Crank Brothers is sadly incompetent and negligent and they think they can get away with neglect and incompetence. Needless to say save your self massive frustration, heart ache and expense, in my opinion, and go somewhere else.

Great service. I had a simple problem a couple of roof tiles had come off. I made an appointment, we agreed on a time and they told me who would be coming to give me an estimate. Billy was great. He was on time. The contractor quickly and thoroughly evaluated my problem. Since it was small he gave me a price and then repaired my roof. Great service and follow through.
