We are a comprehensive general contractor, whether it’s a multi-million dollar project or a simple remodel. Our goal is to help clients clarify their vision and bring it to life. Crane of Ukiah possesses A & B Contractors Licenses and focuses on Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional construction. We operate a full fabrication and sheet metal shop, boasting a diverse range of tools and skills. We provide drafting, help with project development, assist in site selection, and conduct evaluations.

After the 1906 earthquake and fire, Myrl R. Crane started his journey in the trades in San Francisco. By 1914, he had taken on public works projects, building 22 schools. Frank M. Crane, his son and a civil engineering graduate, became a contractor and acquired his father’s firm. In 1960, Frank and his son Douglas established Crane of Ukiah Inc, transitioning from public works to private projects. Around this time, Doug developed an interest in manufactured metal buildings. After working on numerous school projects and witnessing the decline in lumber quality, he recognized manufactured metal buildings as the future of low-rise construction. Over the years, this vision has proven accurate. Frank continued to contribute to the company until his death in 2002, coinciding with Eric, Doug's son, starting at Crane of Ukiah. As Vice-President and a fourth-generation contractor, I grew up on job sites. I attended university for Industrial Technology and Business.
