I am a retired general contractor and have had a lot of experience with roofing over the years. I obtained several bids and chose Cosmos based on other reviews, price, and availability and looked forward to getting a nice new roof. On the first day I waited from the promised 8 am til after noon for the crew to appear. They explained that they were working on another job. Next day they did not show up til around noon. Alex explained to me that the problem was that they were tired and had to take their kids to school. Once they started the tear off and replacement I went up on the roof to see how things were going and was told by the lead that I was not allowed on the roof and that they never had an owner on the roof before. I was told I would have to pay extra for several items that were already included in the contract. I noticed that in many areas they failed to properly nail down the existing plywood that was loose or had come loose during the tear off, dooming the new roof to premature failure. They said that was not included so I had to do it myself. I also noticed installation of air vents that did not meet the manufacturer's installation specifications. Due to the late start the work was not finished by the weekend. They left debris, shingles with nails in them, and twisted nails in my yard, on my porch, and on my driveway and that of my neighbor. I asked them to come and clean up which they partially did. I expressed my concern about the safety of the young children and pets living in the house and was advised by Alex that I should keep children and pets out of the yard and driveway for a few days until construction was finished. They then parked their huge truck right in front of my house over the entire weekend. Due to the shoddy workmanship I enlisted the help of the local building inspector and received from Cosmos a significant discount for all the time I had to spend. The vents were finally installed properly and the plywood was taken care of, and I was asked not to relate any of this on social media. There are still wavy areas on the roof that Alex said should go away in a year or two. I have photos of all the above and more but do not see how to include them in this review. I learned that the appealing lengthy guarantee included restrictive provisions. The bottom line is that it is possible that my roof was just an unfortunate exception. If I did not know what to look for and never went on the roof I might have thought everything was fine, except for the nails and debris, the doing several jobs at once, the efforts to charge more than was agreed upon, the litany of excuses, and attitude that ""this is a family run company"" where the family comes first rather than the customer.

I had my complete roof replaced by Cosmos back in the summer of 1998. They asked me all the right questions about the type of composite shingles and supporting wood to use. I still have a solid roof without any leaks. I would hire them again for this work.

For the last 6 weeks, I've been calling and emailing Cosmos Roofing. They have not ever returned my calls or emails. All these great reviews about Alex and being so responsive, but maybe their service is no longer excellent. I would expect at least one return call that they are too busy to help me!

Update: I continued to email/call Cosmos and finally connected with Alex. He said they'd been swamped with calls, and apologized for not responding quickly. Once we connected, Alex was very helpful and responsive, and they did a fine job re-roofing my house. The roof performs extremely well, and I'm very happy with their work. I would hire them again!

I had Cosmos Roofing replace the roof on two houses many years ago and have referred several people to them since then. One of the reasons I chose them was the 25 year guarantee they offered in writing. The composite shingles on one of my houses have begun to crumble even though they still have 5 years left on the guarantee. I have left several messages for Cosmos and have yet to receive a call back. What's the point in offering any guarantee or warranty if they don't stand behind it? They might as well offer a ""Lifetime"" guarantee and dupe even more people into believing they're receiving a quality product from a reliable company. It's a shame -- they impressed me with the initial jobs they did (which is why I gave them repeat business and referrals).

Working with cosmos was a positive experience. Alex was prompt to answer calls and help with concerns I had throughout the process. The new roof looks great and comes with a 20 yr warranty on the work, wow all others offer 5-10 yr warranty. Since its summer and we likely won't be getting any rain for a few months it will be a while before its tested. I have no doubts it will be just fine.

Thanks Cosmos Roofing for doing a great job replacing my flat roof with a 4 Ply Thermal Cool Cap Roof. Everything was done professionally and I can already tell our house is cooler during hot summer days due to the 3"" Rigid Insulation. They also did a nice job with three new downspouts. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing roof work.

Alex came and provided a competitive bid on a new roof, including gutters and new skylight covers. I had a few questions, which he answered in a patient, prompt and professional manner.

Based on Alex's responsiveness, and a recommendation for Cosmos Roofing from a friend of mine who is a contractor, I hired them to re-roof my home. Alex scheduled my roof extremely quickly, pulled permits and his crew showed up on time to begin work. The work went flawlessly, from tear down through clean-up. The roof passed inspection, is water tight (confirmed by recent rains) and looks amazing! I love looking up through my new double-paned clear skylights and seeing clouds and blue sky instead of a cracked milky dome.

Due to my extremely positive experience, one of my friends has already hired Cosmos Roofing to do some work for her. The only downside to hiring Cosmos is that my roof will likely last 30 years without issues, so I won't be able to use these guys again!

I had a Kool Roof White Thermal Membrane Capsheet installation with foam insulation installed by Cosmos Roofing on 4/08/2016. Alex Cosmos provided excellent customer service, with constant updates and feedback at every point of the work, and had fair prices. Roof has a 20-year warranty. Looks like a foam roof but does require recoating like a foam roof. Roof was installed, all areas were left cleaned and in an orderly fashion.
I would highly recommend Cosmos Roofing. Ask for Alex.
