I would give even less than a star if possible. they were very insisting and solicitous when they were doing their bid for the job, the installation of artificial turf in my yard. I should have followed my gut feeling and not chosen them but I wanted the job done and the other company could not do it for a few months. The whole process was a nightmare with workers not showing up, leaving their trash all over the yard, try to skip steps and save on material (I had to be there and check on everything when I realized what they were doing). They ordered the wrong size of turf so it took even more time. After only eight months the turf was coming unglued... so I called them aa there is a warranty and after more than a month of back and forth, with workers not showing up when they were supposed to, they finally came. They were not very polite and clearly did not want to do the job. I hope what they did will last...but I do not trust them doing anything in the proper way. this is a very expensive project and the worse process I had with any company. This company is awful and unethical and should not be in business.

They broke a window and then took months to book it to be repaired. Then bill bill was sent to me. I had to pay it and Cosmic never came back to finish. Wish I had never been contacted by these liars.

These people lie and cheat! They blame everyone except themselves for their issues. They lied about what the city demanded. They couldn't manage their staff. They tried to change the terms of the contract midway. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

Project- Balcony/Patio tear-out and reinstall, including waterproofing, drainage, and repair of a leak.
My house is about 80 years old; I discovered that there was a leak from a (nearly) roof-top patio down into the dining room wall below. Ben came over, assessed the situation, and was very upfront about the price being determined by what they found after they pulled up the patio flooring. Unfortunately, it was kind of a mess under there.
Ben explained the process and pricing very clearly and set up the different crews for each layer of the tear-out and reinstall. They were great about working with my schedule; Ben always called me back if there was an issue. The job, which was a multi-step project, was finished pretty quickly. Everyone was very polite, cleaned up and carted away any debris after every layer and they were even very nice to my dog, (who can be a little annoying ) It looks good now and I am confident that the waterproofing is solid. Will definitely rehire them for future projects!

The Job: Rooftop Deck above garage needed to be ripped out and replace, new drainage needed to be installed


The Good: 

Ben was very enthusiastic about the job and is a very nice guy.  He made sure to explain what the job would entail, what needed to be done, why the problems were happening, ect.  He was understanding about the funds for the job being locked up until the sale of one of my other properties went through.  The beginning of the job went great, the framing was done well, more ceiling beams had to be replaced than originally thought which they did for no extra charge and they had some higher quality top layer material left over from another job that they used at no additional cost to us.  


The Bad:

Going back to the demo part of the job, we were told that there was no need to move the boxes and various other things we had in the garage out or to cover them.  Nobody covered them and so now we have boxes full of plywood debris from ripping up the deck.  


After the initial large work was done, a team was no longer sent out to do the finishing work.  It was one guy, who came out 2-3 times a week, and we rarely got any notice on what days those would be.  Often we were told he would be showing up one day, but then no one would show up with no explanation.  


Repeatedly we were told ""oh, the guy is going to come out and finish the job on x day"", but then no one would show up, and when he did the job was not finished.  We were told the job would take 10 days (and that that was estimating on the long side). The job was started on March 29th and didn't finish until May 19th. 


It happened several times that Ben asked if I was free for him to come and discuss things later in the day, but then he would be a no show.


There was a general lack of quality control with the finished work.  Instead of quality control being done by the contractor, I had to go and find all of the problems myself (of which there were many on the first pass) and complain about them.  Then the one guy came out a week later to fix them, but then new things came up, and I would have to complain about them, ect.  In the end I just kind of felt it was 'good enough' and was so exhausted with the back and forth and taking time out of my work day to inspect the work and discuss what was wrong I just said it was fine so I could go on with my life.

WARNING, DO NOT go with this company, they will scam you! Complete liars, do not trust them. Go with yardzen. I'm re writing my review as seeing it was not detailed enough. We were extremely un happy with this service of designing our back yard micki was not communicating good with us and taking over 2 months to get some sort of drawing is not ok. When we did get our drawings they were not ok! There were many flaws . There was o my 1 thing we liked, the backyard was way off scale, he did nothing to our pool, it was not updated to a Baja style like we talked about, no trees which I told him were very important, and the plants which looked tropical were the opposite of our style which we told him and sent him plants we wanted, he put grass directly next to the pool which is not smart, and there was a pole directly In a walk way. And they couldn't even get the color of our house right.So no this was not a quality drawing. we told micki this and then NEVER heard back from him. When the office manager called to get the final payment I was wanting to get new drawings and she just assumed we were done and was so rude and just wanted us to finish paying for an unfinished job. Then she called back again, very rude. At this point we decided to go with a different company. Now over 6 months later David calls me and yes he was VERY rude and raised his voice at me and was way too aggressive if he was truly trying to rectify the situation. We are not taking advantage of you, we just don't appreciate being treated the way we have. This is a company issue not a client issue

I was originally happy with the 3 bathroom remodels that Cosmic performed for me. The job lead was a good man but did not hold his team to high standards. No problem since he had his team rework whatever I called out as substandard. The problem started when the work did not pass the building inspection because of a simple non-dangerous electrical problem. Cosmic would not complete the work to pass inspection even though I called them and got broken promisses for 2 years, due to May and Jennifer delaying. I finally made a complaint to the State Contractors License Board and Cosmic rapidly got the electrical work done in order to clear the complaint. There was grout cracking and breaking around the floor and tub, where caulk should have been used. Cosmic repaired it even though it had been over a year since that work was completed. The man making the tile repair continued to apply grout over the rest of the two bathroom floors. That wasn't asked for and he used the wrong color grout, thus leaving a multicolored grout mess. So far, Cosmic has not repaired the work. It's sad but the repair is worse than the original problem. Save yourself the headache by using a different contractor.

I needed a tile roof repair and Cosmic took care of it in a timely manner at a reasonable price. Everybody was very professional and the job was done correctly. I will definitely be hiring them for future projects.

I called this place because I had a leak in my roof so Miki Braun came over looked at the roof said no problem we could fix it, He said it would be $6,000. I thought it was a little high but it needed to be fixed I didn't get another quote because all the other companies were busy. It rained two weeks later and the leak was still there Cosmic renovation didn't come back for a month. I called, and called no answered. I called another company they said my job was a $2500 job not a $6000 job. To say the least I feel ripped off because I was a older senior woman and I believe they just took advantage of who I was an Senior single woman. So if you wanna throw your money away go with Cosmic they would definitely take your money. I wish as a senior I can sue these companies for ripping out senior woman.

Let me get right to it! Project manager, May, is the reason I went with Cosmic Renovation & Roofing. She was persistent in getting timely answers to my questions and calls. She called me back when she said she would and was extremely professional and personable. To sum it up, May, made me feel like a client and not a deputy project manager!

As far as the roofers and their work, they were on time and professional as well. They easily communicated with other contractors to ensure the job was done correctly the first time.

My overall experience with Cosmic Renovation & Roofing was pleasant and I would proudly recommend them for home improvements and roofing projects, but ask for project manager, May, she's the glue!
