I was referred to Coronado roofing by a friend/realtor, so I was excited to have a good experience! Boy I wish that had been the case! I called Fernando and he was quick to schedule an appointment with me. He called about 30 min before our scheduled appointment to tell me he wouldn't be able to make it, I appreciated him giving me notice, and we rescheduled for the following day at 8am. At 9am he hadn't shown up, so I called and he told me he was running late and would be here in an hour. At 11am he still wasn't here, and I called again at which time he told me he would be another 40 min.... at which time I told him not to bother! It's terrible business to act like this, and completely waste peoples time who are waiting for you! Trust the reviews and just pass this business by, not worth the trouble!

Do not trust this roofer! I have been ripped off! On Jan. 28 2017 Fernando and his crew supposedly did roof repair. He said it has guarantee for three years too. The next time it rained it leak again in the same place. After discussing this with him and setting up a time for him to fix it he never showed up. He never returned my phone calls. Now I have found another roofer and we both went up on the roof to see the problem. I was completely shocked that there were still lots of broken tiles and there was no evidence of new paper put under the tiles. I will be filing a compliant to the BBB.

DON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT!!!!!!!!! It pains me to write this review as Fernando, the owner and main roofer, has been a friend of our family for 35 years. He's friendly and personable as can be. As it turned out you can NOT believe what he says, I'm sad to say. I asked what time they would be starting, he said 7:30-8. They came around 10:00 give or take most days. I asked how long the job would take and he said 2 weeks. It took 6 1/2 weeks with an ultimatum. I asked how many men will be working on the job, he said 5-6. There were 2. I was to pay him 50% at the start of the job and the balance at completion. I gave him $9,000 and he spent it on personal bills. He had $2,000 of it left to go towards $5,500 in roofing materials that he lied to me and said had been paid for. After a call to the roofing supply company I found out it had not been paid for. So I had to go down there and pay for it. By the end of the job I was out of pocket $16,000 on a $19,000 job. I paid $3,000 extra for plywood to be put on the entire roof. A contractor friend of mine while looking the job over found a 13"" wide strip of roof 42 feet long, under the felt paper, that had not been covered with plywood. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! He almost completely shingled a section of roof that has very little slope and he said was going to get membrane put over it. That is necessary to make that area water proof. Thanks goodness I got up there to check before he'd finished shingling that area or I would have been screwed. He lied about putting wood pieces in the vent area and lied about how much he was paying his workers. Even after I was out of pocket over $15,000 he was still hitting me up for money claiming he was 2 months behind on his rent, they were going to repossess 2 cars, turn off his electricity and he owed Workman's Comp. $3,000. By this time my response was, ""I don't care"". My wife was so upset about the whole deal she was about to break into tears at work and come home. I write this to help others avoid going through what we've been through.

Fernando Bernal (Owner), received payment to repair my roof. Material was delivered the next day. Things seemed promising. The material sat on my roof for two weeks before he came back to start the work. I had to call/text several times asking when he will complete the repairs. After my calls/text, he would show up for two hours or so. The work was to begin 6/14/16 and today is 7/18/16. My roof is not repaired and material is still sitting on the roof. He would give me completion dates but would never meet those dates. I asked him several time to communicate with me if something kept him from working on my roof. I did/have not received one call from him explaining any issues. When he did show up to talk to me, he stated ""I have no excuse"". I do not recommend using this roofer. Shady business practices.
