My husband did a lot of research on their nxt roof paint. He bought several buckets a couple months ago but with the weather being so rainy lately, he hasn't gotten around to doing it. He called up the store and asked how long the shelf life is. As they were talking, they offered to exchange the buckets for the newer batch to make sure that the quality of their product would remain. Love that they value the quality of the product!!!

I recently got the green light to paint the roof of my house in Kaneohe. It's open beam, so it gets BRUTALLY hot during the day. I did quite a bit of research and went with a water based primer as a base coat. I then went to the Cool Roof Store to get a silicone based paint. This place has the best prices, even better than online retailers- and that's not even including shipping!

I spoke with Scott at the store and this guy knows his stuff. Very knowledgable about the products and was able to explain thoroughly about each type of paint.

I ended up going with NXT Silicone ($260/5gal) because it requires only one coat with only moderate mixing required (no power tools). This location has everything you need to make your house much more comfortable during the day and at great prices too!

Highly recommended!

My first time I went down on my own to get info and see what products they have for my carport roof. The counter lady seemed very knowledgable and gave suggestions on based on the type (cap sheet) we have. They even hand out individual instruction sheets per product (made in-house) and equation sheets to help determine how much product you need. So they encourage you to come back and being measurements and photos. She was also pretty cool to give me a heads up on their upcoming one day seminar where they had demos and special pricing.

My wife and I came back for the one day seminar, got to try rolling some roof coating and sit in on a presentation about coating flat roofs. They had their roofers from Leakmaster (their sister company) on site which they gave us guidance based on our measurements and photos. They did have many of their products on sale. It may not be the cheapest amongst all the hardware and roofing supply stores, but it's either comparable in price or to me...better quality product. Not to mention their assistance and support is totally worth going with these guys.

For us (and probably most with flat roofs) they suggested putting down an acrylic coating first, then silicone. Before the full coatings, we needed to patch all our seams and drip edges. We bought what they suggested based on our measurements 2 pails of acrylic, 2 pails of silicone) but got an extra pail of Apoc silicone because we were on the boarder line of having enough. We also bought roof tape for the drip edges and roof fabric for the seams.

During our days of installing, we called them several times for questions/guidance and they really came through for us.

One tip...the silicone is a lot more runny then the acrylic. Beware of it dripping down your drip edge and on the ground below. Also make sure to apply per guidelines to have a consistent thickness for each coating.

Overall their instructions and guidance gave us a successful finished result. We are very happy with how it came out.
