Company Overview
Construction Research Laboratory, based in Medley, Florida, is the first facility globally to specialize in curtain wall testing and can handle over 30 wall mock-ups at once.
Since 1955, Construction Research Lab has conducted tests on over 3,500 full-size curtain walls and an equal number of windows, doors, roofs, and other associated products for notable buildings such as the Sears Tower in Chicago, the World Trade Center in New York, Hong Kong Bank, Bank of China (Hong Kong), the World Financial Center in Battery Park, New York, Canary Wharf in London, and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
Construction Research Lab serves as a full-scale research facility that tests a wide range of building products, primarily assessing air infiltration, water infiltration (static and dynamic), structural performance, interstory differential movement, seismic racking, impact resistance, thermal cycling, and condensation resistance.
The lab features 38 testing chambers, varying from 5 ft to 38 ft in width and exceeding 40 ft in height, and consistently conducts tests according to the standards set by the American Society for Testing and Materials, now known as ASTM International, the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), and the Florida Building Code for curtain walls, skylights, windows, and doors.
Renowned globally, the laboratory holds accreditation from the AAMA, Miami-Dade County, and the State of Florida.
Every day, our devoted team aims to offer the finest facility and quality analysis for our clients.
