In 1901, Charlie Conner, a farmer and Master Carpenter, established a business in the Dallas area that evolved into The Conner Group. Initially, he helped other farmers by providing his carpentry skills to build barns. He quickly saw that his love for carpentry could benefit his family. In the 1920s, his son, J.O. Conner, joined the flourishing business and became a member of the Carpenters Union. At the time of his death in 1996, J.O. held the title of the oldest active member of the Carpenters Union in the country. He continued his father's legacy by building many homes, churches, and commercial structures in the expansive areas of North Dallas around Forest Lane. Five generations later, Terry Griffith, Charlie's great-great-grandson, has taken the reins and focused the family business on remodeling, new home design, and construction. Roydon McCullough joined his uncle in 2013, becoming the sixth generation to contribute to the family business.
