As a child, I watched my father repair everything around our home. Whenever something was discarded, like a washer or toaster, he would bring it home and fix it. I remember a Christmas when he created a full-sized Santa Claus in his sleigh, adorned with lights, and mounted it on our roof. In my view, he was exceptionally skilled and a true genius! I aspired to be like him, but being a girl in the 50s posed challenges. Consequently, I put my dreams on hold and attended college. Upon finishing at the top of my high school class, I joined Corporate America. In my free time, I practiced and learned various trades. Over thirty years, I completed numerous home improvement jobs and ultimately started my own business—Concierge Renovations.
